If you read my post, I stated that I don’t want ‘them’ here. I have no objection to the UK accepting refugees genuinely seeking political asylum.., but imho even that should be on a conditional and temporary basis, i.e should the situation in their homeland improve, then they should be safely repatriated asap. As for the overwhelming majority arriving on these shores, they have no legitimate reason to be here, and should be returned to their country of origin immediately. I always thought it was Somalians that were the problem in Tower Hamlets? Can never understand the vitriol directed at the people so desperate to get here. Given the choice of living in some war torn hell hole, or getting the fcuk out of it, I know what I would do..., so how can I condemn others for doing the same? Never one pushed from cover or ‘treed’ by fox hounds, or shot on the lamp.., I think there must have been hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of foxes shot over the last few decades that these big cats are supposed to have been out there. And like you say, none killed by cars? By comparison, cougars are apparently ‘elusive and seldom seen’ in California, but around 100 are reported killed on the road each year. Loads here too. Always feels like there’s loads as they’re easier to see this time of year, and more likely to see them in big groups. A lot of rabbits about in places too. Good to see.

Take your point, and I do appreciate the skill involved in getting in and out of snookers, just it makes me turn over when I see it happening. Snooker as a game hasn’t changed a great deal since the main events were being played in a room above a pub, with world finals finishing at 5 in the morning. And the captive audiences of the 80’s had to endure some shite boring wars of attrition. Nowadays in order to compete with all the sport on tv, it needs to appeal to the many, rather than a few purists or aficionados. I agree, it looks terrible. Snooker is hardly high octane viewing so the last thing it needs is more tactical play slowing it down. Seems the players don’t mind though. Definitely an affection for the current monarch that few before her could lay claim to. Her ascension at a young age, and following victory in WWII no doubt helped, and the length of her reign means people both old and young, and around the world, have just always known her as the queen. Chico has big boots to fill, but I don’t think he will reign long, before he hands on to Willie to ‘modernise’ the monarchy. If Charles wants a legacy though, he might look at hanging his treacherous son, and the paedo brother from the Windsor ramparts.

Think I said in the last thread I’d weigh up the odds, but would (hopefully) put myself between the women and the arsehole, but no point being a ‘hero’ and getting splattered all over the shop unless it was necessary. As for the video, the uniformed guy looked built to deal with the situation.., odds well in his favour etc. Most of the security men I see in shops look like they couldn’t fight sleep, and for minimum wage I wouldn’t expect them to step up knowing they were onto a serious hiding.., not for the uniform or the coin. They’ll never admit it, but certainly nowadays, the two sides have many more similarities than differences. But memories are long, and hurt is slow to heal. I was born a few months after Bloody Sunday, nearly 50 years ago. If I live another 50 I doubt I’ll see a lasting peace between the two communities. Fcuk knows what the answer is..., but pineapple and cheese on a stick would be a start ??
