Done my 'Bit,... with Bees',.. Now, (in common with other busy Pesters),..during this busiest time of the year),..it isn't financially viable , to be fecking around, sorting out nuisance colonies of bees For the next few months, it has to be guerrilla tactics,..a quick in and out,..get them Wasp nests, 'done and dusted',...then,...onto the next earner...

Humping Behaviour In Bitch Pup
Phil Lloyd replied to Kay's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Don't worry about your pup's seemingly odd behaviour,..it will pass,. My one basic ruling with a new pup, is to spend plenty of time with it,... Forget formal training,...just make the tyke,..your bestest pal.... Everything else will fall into place. -
It is a rare occurrence that such VERMIN are ever caught,...in fact,...they roam at will and are extremely difficult to capture. Sadly, the folk who know these VERMIN,...may not agree with their low-life actions, but they will never, ever grass on them,...it just doesn't happen.. As for catching them, in the act, and dealing out a summery punishment,..well,.such tales are frequently the stuff of legend ,...and are a reflection on, what WE would all love to do,..

Encountered several crazy 'buggers' over the years.... The worst ones, are those that 'see' rodents in their house,...'watching them',.etc,... It pays to be 100% firm with these poor deluded folk,...it is a big mistake trying to pacify or humour them,...worst of all,..to foolishly undertake any treatment,.however light,...in a situation where (as a Pro)...you know only too well, that no pest really exists... Always best to be, 'too busy' to take on the job... We are trained Pest Control Operatives,...not Mental Nurses....

You have be realistic where whippets are concerned,...they are, what they are, and they do, what they do... For close quarter,..bust to bush, .rabbiting tasks,..they really do take some beating.... Their basic strike is quicksilver and their physical reactions, towards a fleeing target, are truly phenomenal... I've kept a few whippets,..both the Pure -bred, Pedigree stock and the fabulous, Hard Blood, non-peds.... Great wee jukels,...they take some beating, quietly waiting on,.up behind a bury,....but,...ya gotta be realistic.....

Beautiful ArticGun,...real classy looking jukels....

Would love to secure an invite to visit this place,...it sounds to be, fecking idyllic...

Daytime Roe, pushed out of woodland.....

Bred similar types,....long, long time ago....

Hi,.. Body Grips are extremely versatile killing traps,...but when used here in the UK, (due to our regulations), their versatility and usage,.. is somewhat gelded,.. However,.if used on a rabbit fence,.with tunnels on either side to facilitate the rabbits approach,...they will certainly catch rabbits,...mind you, a wire snare would be cheaper In a burrow situation,..the Imbra is a strong contender for the 'tool for the job' award...but,.. the modern Fenn Mk 6 will still catch you some rabbits....

Once lamped a pure white rat on a maggot farm,...and as the terrier hit it,...there was a discernable crackle and crunch.... The poor critter had some kind of mange,...he was a mass of scabs....it was emotional... Only ever caught, one genuine wild white rat,.and I've never managed to catch a white rabbit...but,.taken scores of Blues, Blacks, Part-colours and Orange conies... I doubt the animals taken in remote areas, have any influence via escaped/released domesticated stock,...I just think, same as white/golden moles,...it is, what it is...

In double figures now,....its gonna be a good'un....

Dottie , my (3/4 Grey x Heeler ) was a handy bitch by day ,..and on the lamp,.... She was mostly white in colour,...with a few brown dots,...she was exceptionally rapid,...nothing much noticed her coming,.... until she hit it.

No problem with white lurchers,...in fact, a lot of contemporary coursing dogs are of a white/cream colour.... However,...when the Merle factor comes into play,..you should be wary of pure white dogs,..especially if their coat colour is accompanied, by wall/blue eyes.....
-
A well deserved accolade

They are like a lot of things in life,...(people included),.that perhaps belong to another era,...v/good in their day,..but,... life moves on.
-
Ferreting rabbits sure ain't Rocket Science,....but, it ain't all plain sailing,..there are many variables.... Situations, geographic locations and using the ferrets,.. can often differ throughout the UK,.... I've been lucky,.. always owned, reasonably competent workers,.... my criteria for what makes a good ferret, is consistency..

What happy carefree days they were,....

Wasps.. Preferred Weapon Of Choice ?
Phil Lloyd replied to a topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Remember the K.I.S.S principle..... -
To be honest,...the Mole Catching game will never make a man rich.... There IS money to be made in the Pest Control business,.but you need to take good advice, from canny technicians,..men who know the score,, and who have a proven track record of success,...Consistency and longevity in the game,... is the target to aim for.... It is wasteful to throw good money, after bad...
-
Feck that, tried it,...didn't work for me,...I'm buying some purse nets...

Bred a similar type,... back in the 1970s,...enjoyed them for many years....

For a mole trapper to lie,.. and say he has solved the problem,.caught what he has not caught,..removed a pest,(.one that will inevitably show its face),..is the action of an amatuer...In MY game,...you cannot lie,..(.well,.you can,.but as the fresh mole tumps appear,.often while you are trying to convince the customer that the heap of moving soil is a hallucination,...you will soon get caught out)... I've been trapping 'all sorts of critters' since I could set a wire,...and there is no substitute for honesty... What WE do is not hard,.a 'Monkey could do it',...so,.no need to ever tell lies..

This coming season,...I shall mostly be wearing,....a Sealand Eton Smock..... Time will tell...
