  1. You may have always had vertigo to some degree but, managed to keep a lid on it because you were busy - it sounds like you were left up there long enough to have a look around and start thinking about the 'what ifs'. Those sorts of thoughts can spiral quickly. Also, I think, as we get older and have a family and responsibilities, our sense of self preservation becomes stronger. Maybe that was a factor. As already said, a healthy level of fear at heights will keep you safe but, if you're genuinely shit scared, come back down. Good luck mate - be safe
  2. Ah bollocks - I forgot to send that mount ......... Sorry mate, I've been full of a cold and blocked sinuses all week - I've been forgetting all sorts of stuff. I'll try to get it in the post before the weekend
  3. Nice one Jeff I really like .177 - you can get pass throughs but, it doesn't happen as often as some say. .......... Even when the pellet does exit, it's left a long wound channel anyway so, the animal's still dead.
  4. That's a cracking effort from both of you Well done for getting out in this shit weather
  5. Personally, I couldn't give a monkeys - if a few naughty texts between me and the missus, some xhamster searches and, googling about washing and lubing pellets gives them their jollys, crack on
  6. Neck 'em - they're really nice
  7. My thoughts exactly mate I don't watch cooking shows but, I used to love watching his
  8. Herefords finest mate ....... Not too many though - the missus moans if I get too Keith Floyd in the kitchen
  9. That made me smile ...... We had a little black mongrel when I was a kid - the ice cream man would give her the out of date oyster shells with ice cream in Our lamb has just gone in the oven
  10. Take the stock off, dry the action and inside of the stock with kitchen roll. Make sure there's no dirt or grit on the surfaces, then wipe over with oil before putting the stock back on. As Archie said, I like Ballistol but, something like 3-in-1 will work just as well - you're only after a light protective coating.
  11. Looking into these a bit more, the Webley Value Max is a Turkish made, no frills air rifle - they're still for sale at around £120. Some of the yank sites seem to like them for their performance Vs cost. ........ a couple of reviews described them as having a creepy trigger and a loud report so, maybe that's just how they are. I still say strip it and have a tinker, you've got nothing to lose
  12. Yes, do that Strip it, clean it, re-lube it and see what happens. ......... Either way, it's a bargain
  13. Good shooting and, nice dog mate Good post
  14. Ok mate I can't remember what size tube the old Mambas (proper Mambas ) have - this mount is 30mm .... I'll get it in the post after the weekend.
  15. No worries mate - I'm slowly cutting down the collection so, this mount won't getting used
  16. Jimmy, I've got a spare Sportsmatch 1pc mount here if you want it I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same as the one that I use with my 50mm Airmax and HW100.
  17. Rip Bill Maynard. ....... I often thought Greengrass would have fitted in well on here.
  18. I do rate those torches Phil. I got a Ledray 1000 in a swap 3yrs ago, it had been well used when I got it and, it's still going strong. I only use it to find shot quarry but, if I put it on full power and aim it at the clouds, it gives a massive bright beam. You could use the thing for the bat signal
  19. Nice one Matt I do like hunting posts that show the food at the end
  20. I suggest we have a good ol' THL ho down We could have a lamb barbecue and get pissed up on homebrew while we bet on some kidnapped vegan activists racing. Sounds like a cracking night to me
  21. The Bisley ones are around £20 on Amazon. ......... You'll probably need to re-size it slightly.
  22. I feckin knew there'd be an air gunner comment on this one eventually
  23. Nice ........ Proper father and son challenge. Enjoy it mate
