  1. I had a chat with a friend who shoots abroad most years although he has not been this year and as meece says the EFP mau not be needed but for the sake of this response, I will quote you the text he sent me. 1) You need an EFP which is free of charge from your local police but they can take some time. 2) Need to inform the airline / ferry operator in case they have a policy to lock away the firearms in a seperate area. Easyjet charge an extra £60 for this service. 3) The gun must be in a secure firearms case that is lockable and a seperate one for any ammunition you are takin
  2. To be honest there was some extra paperwork that was required some years ago but that may well have changed so the best place to contact is the CPSA who have members travelling all over the world representing England as well as private competition entrants so would be able to advise. I will be going to Highlodge in Suffolk the week after next for a days shooting and could ask John Bidwell, the owner, who is 8 times world champion at sporting and shot all over the world so if you have not been able to establish the correct method, I will find out for you. Phil
  3. Same due here, so a few hours and coffees at the RFD's but now just had a text, a delivery is due here between 10.58 and 2.17.........................................guess who is on the computer for a few hours ? Nice going Bernard, pity you can't shoot straight though ? ? ? Phil
  4. I do believe that you are paying for a Name because they have won countless medals in target competition, it is said that they are the best rimfire that money can buy ......................... well mine was not that great, the bolt was shit compared to my Tikka and the stock was not pleasing, in fact I got to hate the stock and tried to find a stock to fit but nobody at that time was making one for an Anschutz so I got shut. In my humble opinion, the Tikka T1x is way better but that is just me. I have owned an FX Impact fac air in .25 for over four years and boy are they pricey, as you k
  5. I guess it was just unlucky as these guns are just over £1200 but these brand new guns were offered at £750 so perhaps they have been classed as 'B' grade or something similar. I know they have sold quite a few both right and left handed but as with all manufactured items, there will be the odd cock up. There were five left hookers but when we contacted the RFD yesterday, the last one had gone and there won't be any more, had there been any left, my buddy would have changed it over as he loved the feel of the stock in use with the thumbhole and a high left handed comb that really suited him.
  6. Things have moved on now because yesterday we took the annie to test various ammo as the RWS is a bit sticky and tried Eley, CCI, Hornady HV and different batches of RWS which were the worst but all had issues including the Hornady which has no wax whatsoever. We removed the Pard just in case the spent cases were catching on exit but not really a problem there. I wiped a mag a RWS to remove the wax which helped and then after taking a shot, the bolt didn't want to move and took some pressure to open the gun. On the third time this happened, we phone the RFD where the gun came from and he si
  7. Just popped back home for a coffee to find three greys in the field 30mts over my garden wall, I spooked them and they flew off. Had I come in through the front door, I could have got the rimmy ........................................... ? Phil
  8. I am not farting about with all that. I simply want to know how to remove the filter and when removed, is the unit able to illuminate to a similar distance as the earlier models. This is for a friend of mine who is going to buy a second 008 and wants to know if this is now a waste of money. Phil
  9. Well this morning, there were far greater numbers teasing me just over our cottage and dropping in the same place but this morning I could hear quite a few shots ringing out so some lucky chaps have been enjoying themselves whilst I look on with the curtains wide open in the comfort of my bed although I would give that up in a flash to be under them. Phil
  10. I am ready to be corrected but I think I am right in saying that Pulsar made a complaint that Pard were producing an IR that did not meet the European standard hence the reduced power of the laser. I didn't know that Pard had simply installed a filter in front of the laser, if that is the case, then an easy job for any owner of the new units. Must tell my rfd who has just taken delivery of 30 plus 007 and 008 units.. What is needed to remove the filter please, not for me as I do not have one. One small point, is the laser as strong as the older models once the filter is removed.

That is a far better price than bizmuth Stav.....................thanks matey, good info. Phil
  12. My shooting pal has just bought a brand new 1416 but the love is not flowing yet. On it's first outing at one of our perms, the spent cases would not eject and simply fall into the bottom of the breech area. A quick trip to the rfd and after a clean by the rfd, 50 shots were fired at the rfd's shop with no issue, now sorted ?? Today my pal went to the range to have a play............................20 shots with three cases not ejecting. We both use RWS subs and wonder if the wax coating used might be having an effect. I am taking a selection of my ammo, a different batch plus some E
  13. Sean is the Pard 008 a new one or one with the stronger laser because I have heard on several forums that the new ones are not a patch on the earlier ones with a few guys saying they have fitted an extra IR torch as the range was so poor. In fact whilst in the RFD the other day, a young guy who works there offered £900 for my pal's as it is a year old and classed as an older model. The young guy stopped bidding on ebay for the 008 at £900, it went for £1200 according to the young guy. He should have sold it and bought something else and have cash left over. Phil
  14. Whilst typing this, I can hear the sound of several thousand greys flying over the cottage and dropping in on a stubble field just 300yds away but not on my land. There are now about 10k greys and a number of canadas all around the village edges with a thousand or so just starting to drop on one of our fields so we are giving them a day or two to settle and number of others will follow. Deeks out of the loft, pity they are all canada deeks but better than nothing (might try to paint them at some stage) and put up a hide for the duration. Fingers crossed and we do need luck as there are s

I need another pension to buy bismuth carts which is a pity as I have only heard good things but my limited experience with steel did not leave a great impression, I am sure it's me but I didn't get on with them. Phil
  16. Quite a few years old .................................. cherish them as they aint like that now. Phil
  17. We had them through my old Anschutz, my current Tikka, my pal's Browning T-bolt and a CZ all of which were nowhere near as accurate as the RWS subs and each box bought at different times (so different batches) gave a few 'hotter' rounds or certainly louder / off POA. Load of sh1te Phil
  18. Optisan have just brought out a compact lightweight to compete with the Hawke Airmax 30 compact s/f but I suspect it may still have the whiteout issues all their scopes have although some are worse than the others. If you want a bit of weight saving and compact size, take a look at the Airmax, I have two and they are cracking and just below the £300 budget. Phil
  19. I thought so as well until I did some heavy paper punching, then the loud shots were off target by varying degrees, never used them again. Phil
  20. They are made by Artemis and been around for about 3-4 years but cannot remember who imports them. Phil
  21. Never tried one but have considered buying one several times after hearing some good feedback from several guys I know who bought them..............just not got round to actually getting one. I will be interested to see how you get on with it. Phil
  22. I pay about £5 on average which is fine by me and it is not as if I go through thousands so I just keep buying a box or two when in the shop although I did buy quite a few boxes a week ago when they were at £4 per box. Not good at the moment as I need some wmr ammo, I have 500 Eley Superb cartridges on order to collect on Wednesday, picked up 200, 28 gauge Eley VIP Game on Thursday and need a slab of Eley 12 gauge, First Select 21grm cartridges for my dear wife.......................................a bit costly all of a sudden. Oh yes and I have some FX .25 slugs coming to test
  23. I normally set up his scopes / nv so on this occasion, I think I will either mount the scope facing backwards or perhaps fit the mounts with tin foil stuffed to one side so no matter how much adjustment he gives the gun will not shoot to point of aim................................................................My cunning plan may just do the trick and then THE GUN WILL BE MINE, ALL MINE... Phil
  24. I do not how how they sell so well as I have not been able to get a consistant result from them with some rounds seemingly going with a much louder bang off target. I will never use them again. Phil
