Hades in .177........................................any good
philpot replied to philpot's topic in General Airgun Discussion
The Weihrauch pellets are now made by JSB so assume they are the standard Exact but I am curious about the Chinese QYS pellets, which ones did you use. I am surprised by the pellets you suggest Mitch as I thought you used Express and FAP pellets in all your sub 12 guns. Phil -
Nice bag SD, one of my favourite forms of shooting. Used to be a guy who came down country to buy shot crows...................... 4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie !!!! My grandfather always said it was corvid that were used for the pies. Phil

Henry is a really nice lad Si, fast fingers with the electronis games, a lure angler, an airgun shooter and now a shotgunner............................what a little star, he will be able to impress his class mates. The new generation of Yilditz are very very nice and a very different league to the Yilditz of old so I think we will all be interested to see how well he does over the coming months. Good purchase Si. Phil

Anybody got any 110 mags in .177 they don't want and would like to sell ???? Phil

Mitch you are a cheeky tart no matter if it is near the truth. So with the introduction from Mitch, I will put up the case for the TV screen systems, the system can be made by handy guys at home and there is a detailed 'how to' on another forum but I use several NiteSite systems which have worked very well for me and my buddy. There is an upgrade, the ' R-Tec' which has fine tuning on the camera for focus and the screen can be turned down independently from the main IR. They are very light and whilst I tend to use them with the gun either resting on my tripod or at the hip and for me,

I think I would simply get the Wildcat Mk3, can't quite see the point of the Dreamline myself but we all like different things. Phil

It is based about 10mins drive from Minsmere reserve and 15mins from the resort of Southwold, 25mins from Aldeburgh and 50mins from Ipswich so plenty to see, a lovely part of the country SL, we have been going for 15 years. Good luck in your quest. see you there perhaps ? Phil

Just seen a black stock for the 110k Jimmy on another forum for £70 so if you got the laminate stock, you could get the black one to use in the rough stuff and preserve the laminate. Had I seen this for sale before I bought my 110k, I would have bought the laminate and this black one as well. Food for thought Jimmy. Phil

I have to admit that I love clay shooting, trap (all disciplines), skeet and sporting, both my wife and myself shoot at Beverley shooting ground which is one of the best trap clubs in the uk. We always have a few weeks every year at John Bidwells place, Highlodge, in Suffolk, stunning lodges around a lake so the fishing rods are always set up ready for a couple of hours on the carp, the lure rod for the perch and a few carp as well as they will take tiny grub lures, I take the air rifle as well for a bit of fun on the woodland layout and best of all one of the top sporting clays venues in t

I am sure you will get used to the hole Jimmy, certainly at your age anyway. ? I had a chat with a guy at Hull Cartridge yesterday as I wanted to increase trigger pull weight a little as it is very light but they don't really move more than perhaps an ounce and while talking to him, I asked if it was possible to buy a laminated stock at a later date if I wanted one, £400 so needless to say, that is out of the window. The lam is cracking Jimmy. Phil

Just been pellet testing this morning on the indoor 25mt range as it is still blowing a gale so no point in trying outside. Pellets tested, JSB Exact, JSB Heavy, Bis Mags and AA Express. JSB Heavy and the Bis Mags were not as good as the others so a bit more testing on those rwo and the result was Exact were better by a tiny margin but I would be happy to use either the Exacts or express pellets. I was never convinced that using the lighter pellet were that good but both Mitch and Mark swear by them so I may try them on the ferals when the winds have dropped down. Phil

Cannot argue with any of that SL. Skeet is less popular than it used to be some years ago but it is a superb practice discipline. I still use skeet as a practice round to sharpen me up at times. Phil

Put the photo back up Alan and take no notice, you did nothing wrong or illegal matey. Phil

Pair of bloody show offs....................................... not that I am affected by envy, you understand, anyway my pal and I were out on the rabbits ourselves and whilst we were not quite so jammy as you buggers...............................we got one ? Phil

No not my car although we are getting there, no I am talking about air tanks. For years I had a 4lt air tank but after buying the Impact fac, it seemed a good idea to get a bigger tank which I did and got a 12lt tank that has proved to be spot on. I still had the 4lt but rarely used it and even when I took it on holiday to Suffolk, it was a heavy lump so I have just done a swap in the rfd for a dumpy 3lt tank. I have to say what a pleasure to carry this little fella around, ideal to take on holiday with the hw110k and to take onto a big rat perm if it comes off (still waiting to hear) as

We already have a number of canadas and greys along the shore of the Humber and dropping into some of the farms, not ours so not sure what they are grazing on yet. The duck and geese deeks are ready and waiting for right time. Phil

I always say that I am 30 in my head, 90 as I get out of bed but in reality in am in the middle but I am not in the middle any more Jimmy as I creep towards big 70................. Phil

Now just wait a minute old pal, I do recall you telling me that you wanted to buy the laminated hw110 ......... KT ......... of course it has that bloody hole in the stock ? May be you need a 110 without the hole in the stock for your daytime baby. ? Phil

Don't you bloody start, my son in law brought one round the other day that he bought to sell on and said it was for me. Must admit I did have a little ride on it.......................great fun but I want one with off road wheels ? Phil

What a lovely stock, the spinners would need to be about 3'' in dia for me to hit them with a springer ? Phil

My pal bought a Gammo Phox a few months ago as he gave his son his sub12, he rates the Phox very highly and if you like the longer gun, I agree, it is spot on for the money. Phil

Welcome aboard foxy. I can't open your link so what was the outcome, did you see the light and get a pcp. ? I just don't have the patience or skill to be a really good springer man and would not dream of taking one hunting but admire those who are good shots with a springer such as Pianoman, Bigmac, Si Brown, Mark Williams and others. I guess I am just happy with my pcp in both sub12 and fac. Phil
