We found new residents on one of our perms, a covey of partridges about 12 - 15 in total. We don't shoot them but I do confess that I love to watch them with the wind up their tail feathers, low flying misiles going along the hedge. Neither of us would lift a gun to them in all honesty, just nice to see. Nice shooting on the sqizzer Mark. Phil -
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ? Phil

That takes me back Bernard, my Lambretta Li 150 and SX 200 complete with mirrors a shiny metal side leg protectors ............................... me with my parker coat, wranglers and broges. Ehh those were the days and a gallon of petrol for five bob ( or to the younger element, 25p ) Phil

On mine which is the 'K' version, about 50-60 shots per fill although I so far have not used that many shots in one go but the website will confirm and the normal length (which is not much longer and still way lighter than the 100) around 110 shots per fill in .177 cal. I will say Dave that the mag loading / unloading is not as sweet as the 100 but more of a knack which I got used to very quickly. Phil

I have had a .22 and now have the .177 and use it on crows, magpies and ferals in the main with a few rats and the odd rabbit. I know the 100 is superb but I just found them to be heavy and by far prefer the 110 with the black soft touch stock which fits so well in the shoulder. It is a Weihrauch so have no doubts about accuracy. I really enjoy mine Dave. Phil

Go for a 110 Dave, lighter and shorter so quicker handling. Phil

Many years ago when I was still living in Sheffield, there was a muzzle loaders clay shoot about 2 miles away from the club I used to run and we had an invitation to go and have a go, well I can honestly say, I really enjoyed myself and vowed to myself that I would buy one, alas, as a young family man, there was never spare cash when one became available. My good friend the rfd has a couple s/s and whilst not as authentic as yours Bernard, I still would like the idea of hunting with one. I must say that it was fun deciding if you had actually hit the clay because of the smoke, I hit that

I have an o/u Sabatti 12g that I am thinking of selling but not really a resto job unless you want to make the stock a bit special. My local rfd has shed loads of s/s 12g and others in stock which would make good resto jobs however they have just closed until the 23rd but if that is not too late, I could have a good rumage around in the back room to find you one. You can always keep that in the back of your mind if nothing else comes up Ben. Phil

We filled the feeders up last week, first time since last winter and repositioned two of them by some distance as we built new hides, the feeders were hammered straight away. I set the trail cameras up as well covering the squirrel feeders and pheasant feeders, I do know we have deer trying to reach the peanuts but they cannot reach, in case you are wondering, each feeder has a ladder strapped to the tree so we can fill easily once a week. Our feeders are made of 5' x 4'' dia steel galvanised painted tube which takes about one 10lt size container of mixed peanut wheat, and maze which just

It is a pity that Lidl don't run these promotions at the same time across the uk then it is easy but they vary them so you never know when they are in stock. Phil -

There are three new licenses produced by defra shown in a BASC email this morning. They are listed as GL40, GL41 & GL42, only had a quick glance but on first viewing, GL42 covers most of my shooting. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wild-birds-licence-to-kill-or-take-for-conservation-purposes-gl34/valid-from-1-january-2021-general-licence-gl40-to-take-or-kill-certain-species-of-wild-birds-to-conserve-endangered-wild-birds-or-flora-and-fauna https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wild-birds-licence-to-kill-or-take-for-public-health-or-safety-gl35/vali

I do understand the love people have for these guns and my earlier post was very much tongue in cheek but I did like the gun but way too heavy without the tripod. I cannot knock it's hunting capabilities just it's weight and ungainlyness compared with modern rifles. Phil

I had a mk2 fac which I have to be fair and say it was very accurate but a big lump of a thing, just not for me. Phil

Basc air rifle member insurance
philpot replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in General Airgun Discussion
As this thread has been pulled out from the past, it is worth saying about all legal cover being removed from the BASC policy so anytime you may need that cover, you will not get it. This includes going to court to plead your case in a license renewal along with the expected cover if there was a dispute or accident. The CCC3 now offers a better solution at half the price but you won't get a free ticket to the Game Fair which I must admit is nice to have BUT £75 all up cover when you are a retired ole tart like me is toooooooo bloody steep. As you say, an early Impact and I rather like that. Phil

If I had one..........................you could have it with pleasure. Phil

Tron are you by any chance typing your post using a 'Chromebook' because every time you type eighty, you are getting a symbol. I use one all the time and the symbol I get when I type . I just typed eighty, drives me bloody mad. Carry on men, just me having a quiet moment ? (I didn't type 8+0 then) Phil

I have used the Trigger stick tripod for about 3 years and find it to be bloody good although I know Mark likes the two point rest fitted but I am not too keen on that but as a system, I cannot fault it. Phil

I will go one step further meece, I have not found a gun which produces total accuracy with Winchester subs, in fact we found every so often you get a louder bang resulting in a wild point of impact to the degree that my shooting partner and myself stopped using them switching over to RWS subs and would never buy any again.
