I sent him a screen shot of this which has him p1ssing himself. He is a good mate and I will forgive him in time ? BUT I will have that package at some point however I will be on the lookout for another but I doubt I will find another with two barrel set in the cal I want or at that bloody price. Some bloke, if and when I get the rifle, the wmr barrel will get used so I am sorry but that will be staying. Phil

Popped into my rfd with my shooting pal to pick up an auto clay trap for one of our farmers. Whilst there my pal asked if they could get a Sako Quad in wmr left handed so they were checking through the site to establish price and delivery, the owner said I think this is what you are looking for and walked through with a s/h Sako Quad with both hmr and wmr barrels. Now this gun was a right hander so as my pal was fed up using a right hand CZ wmr, he wanted a left hooker so I was surprised when he asked the price but I assumed just out of interest and when the rfd said £600 including the sc

Interesting because RWS subs have been the best in any .22lr round we have tested. Pity they don't make or at least sell in the uk a round for the wmr. Phil

Once again eh Walshie. Phil

Very rarely read anything on there just look at the adverts and to that end, I have picked up spare mags and bit n pieces hence seeing the stock that LC is looking for. Talking of w-----s, I got in touch with your mates at Sportsman to make an enquiry for a mate regarding a CZ gun ............................................ that place is so full of sh1te, I won't go into it on here but they just lied ............................. again. Advice for night vision optics
philpot replied to Robertr10's topic in Shooting Equipment & Accessories
A good little outfit as an add-on system is NiteSite Viper costing £299, there some cottage industry home made kits on ebay around £200, 'some bloke' above used to make really nice units but you will need to send him a pm as I am not sure if he still makes them. I have a s/h cottage industry one that I loaned to my son in law but as he no longer shoots, that is sat in a bag in the cupboard and you can have that for £65 plus post if that is of any interest. You will need an IR torch as I have given mine away, I may have a nv spotter as well which is out on load and that would be £60 inc -
I use a BSA air rifle bag which will take my rimfires with full Nitesite nv plus nv rangefinder all fitted along with a Wildcat mod fitted to the Tikka and seperate on the wmr. very well protected and zips up using two zips with all the gear on, good thick padding and decent pockets, the largest will take an A4 size items. They are available in three different sizes and I use the middle size for air rifles with nv etc fitted and the larger one for rimmies. At £40, it is a sound item also comes with rucksack style straps to aid carrying. https://www.uttings.co.uk/p102941-bsa-rifle-back

As with Bernard, Trish and myself have shed a few today with the texts and now this. Out hearts go out to you all my old friend. Phil

I have a weakness in the left arm of late which can be an issue. I took out the Tikka .22lr, no problem to hold for free hand shooting but when I did the same with the wmr, I really struggled to hold it. I was clay shooting at Olympic Trap yesterday with no probem and on the sporting layout because you are moving which I seem to have no issues but the wmr is just too heavy for my left arm, a bugger really as the Boyds stock has a great feel. It was a mistake and I think to be honest my shooting buddy and myself were looking a while before we found two nice wmr rifles, mine being a bran

Thank you Bernard, that was a perfect response. In 15 months I will be the ripe old age of 70 which really makes me rethink my activity, lack of salary and of course my health, which is fine now although the eyes are going and that in itself will prevent me from embarking on 300mt shots. This year has been a strange one for everyone, during this time I have been changing my shotguns, sub 12 air rifles and much contemplation on my rifles. As stated before on another thread, the 455wmr is not working for me with the heavy barrel so I am at a point where I want to move the wmr and either go

Novice cf question, is there any advantage using a .223 over the .22 hornet. I keep seeing the odd hornet up for sale and have wondered if it was worthwhile putting in for a variation to have one but I don't have any idea where these guns fit in the overall scheme of things BUT I do know whenever the subject of the hornet in either 17 or 22 seems to produce fond memories from you lot so lets have some thoughts please, Phil

Oh really..................................................................?, we even let you on there dytkos ? Phil

Great news, I hope you enjoy the sport of clay shooting and hope your pocket is deep because we clay shooters do have a habit of spending a bit. ? Try to get some coaching as this will help you no end and give you confidence. A few hours with a coach can make the world of difference and FAR FAR BETTER than some mate helping as the mate doesn't have coaching experience. Phil

Was the FX2000 also sold under a different brand as well. I have never used one Jimmy but what I have read, the comments are good. Phil Ah yes, just remembered, they were sold under the Webley brand as well and I am pretty sure Simon (pianoman) has one Jimmy so a good reference if needed mate, give him a call.

You know when at times you perhaps think, 'why did I say anything about that'..................................................I might be having one of them now ? Phil

Brilliant night, now what you need is a large black plastic box to put them in, funnily enough we have been talking about such a box................................I'll get me coat ? Phil

The left hooker situation is not my problem, that is for my pal to decide on but he is using browning T-bolt at present which are leftys so that call is his. My Tikka .22lr is cracking so is my CZ 455 wmr but I made the mistake of buying one with the varmint barrel, not taking into account just how cumbersome it is to shoot free standing hence my thought of a possible change to a Tikka hmr. Not tried the Norma ammunition in my guns, using Hornady in the wmr and RWS subs in the .22lr both of which perform extremely well but I would try Norma and the subs are really well priced. P

Must confess, my interest is alerted in the hmr again. My pal and I are going the the rfd tonight to look at swapping some of his gear as he is going for a Tikka left hooker but alas there is an issue with the Tikka .22lr in left handed so production will not have them available in the UK until next April but we will have a look around. I might even swap my WMR as it is not getting much use to be honest and the varmint barrel does make it heavy for me..............................yes I know Mitch, I am old twat.......? Phil

Thanks SL, nice offer but a touch too far from North Lincolnshire. Plaster mixing tub, will look but I think a bit too shallow..........................just like me ? Phil
