  4. Yep, its all about time and that would depend on the dogs make up and temprement. I had a good bitch years ago that leaped a hedge only to land on a leccy fence, it was set high and she was caught on it, breakdancing! On many farms the voltage is far more than it should be and by the time i got her off it she was burned in stripes underneath. Poor cow took a while to come round but she did in time. On the other side of the coin a big strong half cross i had came over to me one night, after a hard run, gob open, tongue hanging out. I was stood next to the fence and in his knackerd state turned
  5. Those throwbacks can cause a breeder and seller of 'line bred' stuff all sorts of problems. White out of all black or black an tan, reds or buckskins out of blacks or vice versa. It really dont matter how long you've kept em, or how hard you've kept em pure and tight, by its very nature, the working terrier goes back too far and all colours are in the mix somewhere...It just takes a certain two to bring it out but to anyone who breeds for the coin, far better a white than a brindle but to the rest of us, far better a worker than a looker eh.... On the subject of brindles was it Ralph Hodgs
  6. All Paramo gear is spot on IMO and though its not designed for the real rough stuff, its bloody durable gear. The only downside toParamo is the price.
  7. It don't matter what it came out of, if its white its a Russell....!
  8. I'd simply carry on working her and buy one in.
  9. Good job i seen em on the last tour...
  10. A lot can depend on its working background but i've known a couple of dogs still killing gear in their teens.

  16. Once upon a time I had an opinion on questions like this but then I grew up and realised i really don't give a feck....
  17. If anyone likes eating the critters they catch, whatever the size, get yourself some half decent tools for the job, propper cutlery will make life a easier and make the food more edible..!
  18. First off, the rabbit she caught on the lamp, did you expect/want her to kill it also? Most pups do not kill their catches and its better they don't, thats your job..! As for only giving her so many slips, it really don't matter how many, its the 'quality' of the slips that make the difference, because success is everything...! Get her out often, go to the best places and give her the best slips and if your going well and catching, keep going a bit, you probably ain't gonna do the ton!
  19. As pups all of mine play with balloons regular, start with 'em part blown up and work up, don't shield 'em from any loud stuff and you'll find they'll be bomb proof as adults.
  20. Only one kid knocked, damn shame as my 5 year old was awaiting hordes and I was gutted as i'd spent yesterday decorating the house, though I say so myself, it looked the nuts and I was dressed to scare the bejesus out of anyone but I couldn't do it to the sweet little thing that knocked... Why the feck didn't we get 'orrible little sods! We went round our village, out of twenty houses, three opened the door, one miserable old fart was putting his bin out and my daughter stopped for a reaction to her costume, he blanked her... Now don't get me wrong, I've always hated the Americanisation of
  21. Under a year old and given plenty to do that yip may settle on its own. Nice bitch that, if someone was looking for a hunter to put out bigger gear for the gun and a with lurcher there to retrieve it, that bitch could be the very ticket.
  22. Ooooo, like that Roy, well put together pup.
