  1. Anthropomorphism at its best. Nutters!
  2. Please please please be carefull as Bullies are well known for abandoning a slightly disturbed nest mate ...That must be a recent thing then. I remember as a kid stroking both the male and female while on the nest. I could almost cup my hand beneath them they were that laid back. Didn't dessert, and raised all five
  3. They do that on my patch at work. "Life for a life", costs about 500£ a tree. RSPB are just getting in on the act now too and have opened a bit of land up for the same thing. You can put your loved ones ashes in with the tree. 11 apple trees = 11 dogs that farmer may of had if he's put one under each tree?
  4. Now that is very interesting mate, as I have shot them and put them in a discreet location well away from the public gaze (as I always do) only to find a few days later its gone, now this is not an isolated incident, it has happened a few times, I have always suspected Brock, but never had anything to back up my theory, but your observations certainly seem to suggest Brock will eat them, which in itself is not a bad thing, if he has a belly full of tasty fox meat he is far less likely to want to go looking for a Lapwing's nest, or dig out that nest of baby rabbits. Strange that they'll share t
  5. Cuckoos are my thing. Watching a pair today. Great photos
  6. In my school days we had an "interesting table" where we put things we'd found out and about. End of the day our teacher always discussed what was on the table. There were broken birds eggs, old nests, various animal skulls, fungus's, leafs, wild flowers, conkers etc and on my school report one of my subjects was "rural studies". Those were the days
  7. It's as if they're doing YOU a favour and you should be grateful. Always been the same for us serfs
  8. Local brass band contest round here last Friday, and there were complaints that there wasn't an Asian band or gay band taking part! It's only a matter of time before this country explodes!

    Slugs

Put a few cut down beer tins into the ground, just level with the ground itself and about 3-4" deep. Fill it with beer and in the morning it'll be full of slugs, they love it. Or slug pellets
  10. I've a T8 on mine because I tried one of those so called rimfire mods that can also be used on .22 cf hornets. Blew the fecker to bits so I'm using my .223 mod on mine til I get round to buying another. Got a space again on my ticket now to get another
  11. Set up a Trail camera for few nights or do some fieldcraft and find out which direction the fox is coming from. Either snare the fooker or sit out and ambush it with the rimmy
  12. Been laid off several times, not nice but managed to bounce back. Awful feeling
  13. Mark Lester plays a mute lad who loves playing on the moors. Sir John Mills is the keeper in it. Good film. I have both on vhs. I'll have to get them onto DVD
  14. Too late for apologies. Once a bag of cnuts always a bag of cnuts
  15. Interesting that Tom. Always love looking at and studying bats. Fascinating creatures
  16. Somebody asking for one in the Reloading section, Kent area
  17. I use "combs" when I've rats, squirrels or mink in my traps. This gets them in a tight space and unable to move around in the cage. A tempest is more than capable then
  18. The day in this months EDRD is showing it on a sunday, but the show is definitely on the Saturday, 9th July, thanks
  19. That's pwobably been pushed onto the agenda by cwis packham. Malta has a strict policy of what to shoot and when. If there are some that shoot harriers, cuckoos etc, then they need shooting themselves. At least they allowed the shooters to respond
  20. Sick of hearing about it now, I've turned the radio off. And doesn't it say something about the way Chelsea played and then celebrated beating Spurs. Professionals my arse. Don't be surprised to see John terry in full kit and in the photo when the foxes pick up the trophy?
  21. Loved it at the kennels but has been on the wane the last few years. I hope it's a successful day. Spent lots of time with Maurice in the past and had many a good day with the hounds
  22. They like to dig into sand, as do I when I'm digging them out. Shallow spots only though. Hounds ran one into a hollow tree once in the lakes. Dropped a terrier in from the top, fox bolted from the bottom and hounds caught our pilot in the farm yard?
  23. Still wear the gear and I'm getting on. Brutus shirts and two tone trousers are the business. I've stopped at wearing the docs but don't mind a nice pair of brogues
