A look into bygone keepering days. The pages on catching the poachers is great reading ? Pugs and Drummers is very well researched and includes a bibliography to die for. Harcombes? Well, nothing to add really

Some cracking books there, three in particular are excellent and can be re-read time and again with keenness, Turners "Memoirs of a Gamekeeper", Marchingtions "Pugs and Drumners" and Harcombes "World of the working Terrier". I have the Barkley book "Studies in the art of Ratcatching" but mine is the popular edition, dated 1896. This is almost a complete library of fieldsports books. ?

Great photos and info lads. These pages need showing to youngsters, they're educational and show lots in larvae form and after. Love it. I wonder if the antis who look on here know what they're looking at or even like what they're seeing?? -

Please please please be carefull as Bullies are well known for abandoning a slightly disturbed nest mate ...That must be a recent thing then. They do that on my patch at work. "Life for a life", costs about 500£ a tree. RSPB are just getting in on the act now too and have opened a bit of land up for the same thing. You can put your loved ones ashes in with the tree. 11 apple trees = 11 dogs that farmer may of had if he's put one under each tree?
