  9. nice pups them, and make good alrounders with that breeding, what are they just bit more than 1/4 pit , to whippet and grey,? what will they make 23-25in 50-65lb there abouts ?
  10. its missing it litter mates , havnt you got a mate with nice temp dog just stick him with that when you pop out . ive changed me view about pups crying , they want company human or animal , they soon grow up , it wont be for ever . you got any family with kids stick it there when you out .
  11. i think you might right mate , they say we all take the route we want , but do we really .? the way i as child, teenager, man , dont think it have been any different , prob if there lot of money involved , i poss be different bloke to what i am now, but maybe not lol
  12. how much bull to sight hound in the one dog , how the other dog bred .?
  13. Buck 38 , good going i reckon for a big dog like him, seen lot smaller type dogs not catch as good as him, he like old Bryn agile with good pace, Bryn had plenty of 30s in a night , Buck bit better stamina than what Bryn had .!
  14. true mate, but (herding x sight hounds) are the worse out there regards temp , a 1/4 of any herding type plenty = collie, beardie , kelpie , gsd , dont know about acd , but prob the same, they all show excessive sensitive, manic nature . i really think to catch a rabbit day or night, a lurcher x lurcher , would do the job just as good and easier temp to get on with. drop of pit , or beddy would have a nice calming affect on the herding nature , thats what go for if i wanted herding type x . i always wanted a pit x grey x collie x grey 12 years ago , but not many were being bred bac
  15. , yeh they were wrong , everybody needs and wants private time to there selves , but i still think as do most other people , that he is a queer , he lives with male tour manger, and as done for years. it does make you think though whats gone on behind them locked big doors on his property , still as they say innocent till proven guilty .??
  16. your right mate , i prob feel lost with out a lurcher had them round me mooching/lamping 30 odd years now, i dont think being honest that i just go for a walk with out a dog, your right they get outside deff, and being honest it prob me doing this the amount of time kept me fit/strong for my age.Yeh a 1x beddy x grey prob be just right when the time right, couple years time , when Bryn bit older i get one then , my 2 more than enough right now , but it deff on the cards for the future , and it great excuse to get away from my wife for 2 -3 hours haha
  17. enjoy your grand son and the fishing, great in the summer that . be couple years before another dog wait when Bryn bit older deff on the cards then .
  18. true the 2nd gen 1x do seem to throw more racy type x , and seen few real good dogs over the years, and you get better chance with pit and grey both sides . dont forget with any 1x , either pit, collie, beddy, gsd, etc when x back a grey or lurcher , you never really know which way the pups will throw , ive been lucky because both my 1xs that collie , and gsd have both threw to there base line , but kept the pace of the greyhound both fast for 1xs deff . the best ever 1x i seen was Tug 1x staff x grey 26in 75 lb fast for what he was caught fair few in the lamp foxes , and b
  19. you was right bill about him , he done everything you said he would , had great nights with and in the days a good lurcher . he will be my last big lurcher, if i ever get another dog , it will be nice 1x beddy x grey dog pup, they not over big lurchers 22-25in 50-60lb same size as old Bryn, he nice size and easy to handle no hurry couple years away when Bryn bit more older .Buck hard to hold on a lead when up for it as you know, he took me off my feet few times and i am 13 st not that small either , he strong prat . yeh stick with jaz mate leave this strong dogs for the young blokes ,
  20. spot on mate , try never to panic that the trick. ive said on here lots of times that other dogs have tried to attack Buck , he dont want to fight other dogs he moves off from , had labs , collies and a staff , try it on him, feck knows why , but he just knocks them from off him, he big powerful dog though . But fookin Bryn fight bloody things , a staff had go at him, and Bryn got it in the head, he real fast with his mouth , even at his age now, he still pile into them . ok dont get me wrong a staff or a apbt would kill him, but you get few collies and colliexs that will mix it with s
  21. yeh great type of hunting , we had great time when we went got a rabbit and pheasant if you remember , Buck was only a pup then , he 6 year old now top of his game now, and bloody mad at times, and strong as bullock lol
  22. had great walk in the woods this morning , nice and cool in there . Dogs were squirrel bashing lol , Bryn put up a charlie by the top of the bank , it jumped down the bank, which got to be about 20 ft drop , i am near 6ft and its easy 2-3 times my height . Buck went after it jumped over the bank, he bloody reckless if he sees stuff , charlie ran to other end of the bank in to thick cover, got away Buck went it after it with old Bryn running around on the track, he clever old bugger he is lol . so great bit of excitement for couple mins , dogs loved it, pic not very good of th
  23. haha feckin Ken lol , mind you i dont blame you mate , i only go up to knee's in the sea , yeh i know sharks have attacked in shallow water , but atleast you cant get out quicker than if i t was any deeper water , i drag the bloody thing out with on the beach lol
  24. nice pup that , should make good pot filler with her breeding , will it be just lamping now, if your not into the day stuff no more ? ive always thought that, these type dogs make good lampers if started on this job 1st .
