  1. 100% mate, they do my fookin head in , driving 35-40mph on a 60 zone , when think about really, they cause accidents , because people get impatient behind them, and take few risks , i dont know more i not smashing my car for them slow prats, i get right up there arse, then over take when its safe . it deff lack driving abilty on there part . my old dad even at 75 years of age never drove like these people , he do the speed limits on the roads , but never slow shit like these old biddys do .!!!
  2. sounds like she the type to get a pup from, you ever breed off her .?
  3. on the money mate, say you teach him at home with maths , my son struggled a bit school , so we got tutor to come one night a week for 3 hours, it really helped he got 0 level maths , and A level English went to university got a Degree , well proud of him turned into great young man . me at school was just thick , was in a low class, suppose you carnt put some there that your not born with , in this day and age a nice word for it would be dyslexic it sounds better dont it than low intelligent , and thats the bottom line whic ever way you want to look at it . my wif
  4. spot on paul, all mine were no prob, infact my 1/4 pit 3/4 grey i had back in the 80s was not bad on rabbits , he bring them back and put them down yard away or so , that never bothered me had other typ xs the same with no pit in them . they were never really like a collie x to wards you or like Buck he loves everybody big daft dog, they the bullxs like bit of fuss but not over the top about, all my dogs live out side. one thing i did like about them they just get on and enjoy the walk when out , nevthey not like these fookin herdingxs like i got now , these prats never never never ,
  5. what you talkin here ridgeback or boerbol ? must be boerbol that size , my mate got a boerbol bitch 24 in 145lb, makes Buck look like whippet lol , funny thing is though when they play he get her in the head she drops forward on her front feet , but then she trys to grab him he dont hang about he learnt that she bigger lump than him lol .
  6. true mate , my brother had 2 , one white , and red/white both males with there nuts. the 1st one was ok but i never felt to happy when it was by me , the 2nd was fookin nut case , pinned his daughter and wife in the kitchen , my brother went to boot it away and it flew at him, and got him in his jacket , he was dead lucky that day , dog was put down next day . he had staffs after no prob and english bulldog brindle bitch quite healthy for the breed bit of height to it , lived till 12 good age that for that breed. Our staffs as kids in the 60s were great with us, more like pits ta
  7. bloody hell Dave , my wife loves his music , and when i 1st going out with her , you didnt go down wolves in your young days did you , you may have met her before me haha
  8. she a cracker Dave , jus how the breed should look mate , not over big , but big enough to stop a burglar .
  9. good god , you sunk me mate , this song bloody hell , few women along the that brought back memories , me eyes gone wet must be draught from the comp .!!!
  10. just curious what size were the old type mate , i know todays dogs males can hit 28 in and 90-100 lb bitches bit smaller i always thought me self they were bit to big , they were bred to track and run all day long if need be , they only had to bay the big cats they found , just hold there ground. if they wanted a dog or dogs to go in on the quarry , they use a Boerbol type dog they are massive things 28in 140- 180 lb , ridgeback a hound not a holding dog , and should really be bred as such in my mind Walshie = Dave prob know more better than me , he had few ridgebac
  11. fair point above , with what lines are out there and all proven dogs , doing what there bred for day stuff , if it not broken dont fix it comes to mind . Buck and his x were really bred for lamping dogs and bit of mooching around woods / cover etc in the day , they deff have good wind and agile for big dogs , and not slow either , most people who ever seen him run were surprised , they deff not every body cup of tea lol . there plenty of good lurchers out ive always said lurcher x lurcher from proven parents is where to look for a pup . i am ok right now , he just gon
  12. when Aj fighting next and who .??
  13. suppose over there, there on top of the prison life , meaning stop drugs, and any weapons being made or getting in. where in England , we dont stop none off it, we to soft with them . prisoners get tooled up easy , very dangerous for prison staff . i had mate in the service , he told me its out of control to day with drugs and weapons in there today . and lot of bullying goes on in there , they dish out the punishment more than the screws do .
  14. same here , the lads on here , who bred my 2 dogs didn't really want nothing for the dogs , they were happy if the dogs were worked more than anything else , but give both breeders £ 40 odd quid each to give to there kids for pocket money .the last dog i bought as such was in the 80s a 1/4 pit 3/4 grey £ 100 , and that not bad really . if was buying pup today, before i payed any price i like to see the parents work , if i was happy i pay i think today £ 120-150 fair price . i t makes me laugh though , that these so called designer bred dogs which cocker poos labx poo
  15. the post about best looking breed , not the most functional dog , in my eyes the apbt fit the bill , a game bred dog at pit weight hell of a animal to look at. But you are right regards farm collies , or working bred labs , that will work all day in any weather snow, rain, damp , heat . To me , i think the collie, and the greyhound , are most healthiest dogs out there , suppose thats why the lurcher was created out of them 1st years ago to make functional hunting dog , i not keen on collie temp, but that just me, but there no doubting them as brilliant working animal
  16. looks a cracker , and great at its job , you carnt ask for no more can you mate. pats deff have nice look about them. ive often thought drop of pat to a nice whippet x grey , you get good lurcher, not over big, good coat, feet , and plenty of guts , similar to what a pit give , but bang on for small to mid size lurcher , and prob easier to find a good reliable worker , than alot of pure beddys today .!!
  17. yep , very popular in Oz on wild pigs , in New Zealand they like boxer x labs type or pit x collies , anything really with some bull type in the mix , they have to go in thick cover , up mountains all day, very fit tough dogs , drop of that blood in our lurcher over here , you have a good alround dog .
  18. nope mate lol , done me back in when i was 24 , digging trenches all day for the gas board , no little mini diggers in them days just spade/pick , and jack hammer for roads/tarmac , be different ball game today deff .
  19. very true , years ago when i was 18 lol , was walking down the canal tow path , with a mate and young staff bitch i had, we got round the corner when 3 young lads came running up shouting , that there mate had fell in where it was quite deep. we went running round to him, he was about 3 yards out, flapping ab kcckout going up/down in the water , looked at my mate he just stood still, he must have been in shock. i got me jacket off and shoes off , and slipped me self in nice and steady towards him. he was going crazy with his arms trying to get me, i got him in the neck and squeezed
  20. disregard if it rains or not , your right mate it still way to hot for dogs to run , fook me it summer let the dog rest and get bit of sun on there backs, it doing me back and old bones the world of good . late sep /oct give the dogs a run let the quarry mature a bit , any dog can kill young hare or fox in the summer pre ban , do it in dec/jan then see what your dog about .!!
  21. if you was going down that route , a deerhound x grey x lurcher be better chose , in Oz and usa there dogs are called stag hounds what wolfhounds were prob like 150 years ago , not like these big show type dogs that only live 6-8 years far to big/heavy it kills them in the end, to much strain on the heart / joints .
  22. deff mate, our staffs we had in the 60s were like the leggy apbts , and alot of well bred game apbts were not over big dogs 30-55lb 18-20ins , they look mint when in pit condition , ive always liked the breed great dogs. my dog now Buck 1x gsd x grey when fit a great looking dog , he dont look like a lurcher lol , but just as nice big fit strong dog he got it, the blend of gsd and grey came out just right in him .! i say most lurchers and pats when fit , come 2nd to the apbt .
  23. nice bitch, is she saluki ?, what her temp like she looks bit nervy with her tail tucked in . i know they say pure and lot of coursing bred dogs are nervy and very sensitive both things i hate in any breed of dog , just carnt get on with dogs with that kind temps , alot of herding type xs are the feckin same does me head in , but like all type dogs and xs i they do what there bred for most people are happy , and forget about temp .!!
