JUST CURIOUS , with all these hours you do, is anything over 8 hours classed as over time ,? or do you get a fixed wage , if so it would have to be be well payed to do the hours and type job .! the old farmer makes money and always as , forget the crap they tell you lol, but the farm worker be it , milking , tractor driving , shepherds , etc never make that much coin really , i knew couple blokes who worked on farms all there lives never really made much money, but there loved the life. they could never work in a factory , l ike i have done over the years , i got more in a night shif
  3. no , no point because in 30-50 years time , the big 8 out in India = tiger, Afica lion, rhino, buffalo , leopard, etc will be fook'n gone anyway , they close to it no anyway , but you carry on old pal kill the feck'n lot , i out with dogs now got better things to do than this , carry on .!
  4. yep, great they just take the damp out, and dogs will stretch out in kernel , and not curl up and be stiff, you dont need a kennel over hot , just enough heat to keep the damp out , and if there got skin/coat like a grey or whippet , put a coat on them. Actually being out side and not over hot, they grow thicker coat even short hair dogs deff .
  5. dont think emotions aside, comes into , seeing animal killed for the ego for some rich person, to hang a pic on the there wall etc. and quite few species are near extinction , Aussie Whip right , we not talking killing few foxes the odd deer , rabbits, birds , like here in the UK , and regards Antis seeing any animal killed for pleasure , not pest control , seeing a Lion , or Buffalo,Elephant etc, deff the last nail in the coffin for hunting people .And we had this crap before on here about the hunters out there preserving the species because there being poached for the b
  6. bound to be few lads breeding whippet x grey long dogs , or grews as some people call them lol , me self i love none ped racing whippets from around the black country , get some good'uns from there , they have drop of staff in them years back, my little bitch i had back then caught rabbits day/night easy .

    Cats

my big dog killed few feral cats , around woods , he looks for the bloody things , a fox or cat in his mind all the bloody same thing lol .
  8. true max scum breeds scum , alot of women to days are as bad as the men , i very lucky where i live out in the countryside , my neighbors keep them selves to there selves and are quite, it only there fookin dogs barking all day thats pisses me off, as my 2 dogs never bark. i couldn't go back to a counsel estate now, born / grew up in wolves , but it as shit hole now , glad i moved out 30 years ago .
  9. nice pup, but never understood this thing about 1x beddy x grey yapping. 1st , the 2 breeds in its make up, are quite , greyounds quite easy going type dog, i do know about them, worked a racing kennel . 2nd a bedlington terrier as terriers go is a fairly quite dog, so i am very surprised if it yapps, more so with 4/8 greyhound in it .? Now 2 breeds that will yapp , is collies and whippets , put that in a x and you got more chance of a yapping dog deff . i reckon like whats more reason a beddyx gets labeled a yapper , it because the other breeds in its x , not just the 2 bre
  10. (2 year old ) how old was the dog when you had it ? , sometimes just enjoy the dog for what it is, ok it wont retrieve , but could be worse it might not catch lol its only a rabbit mate, regards retrieve training dogs get fed up with it big time, my best retriever my big dog only ever had couple with the dummy , he wasnt botherd so i left it , and let him catch and kill , he brought back no prob, , and not all lurchers will retrieve anyway no matter what you do just chill and enjoy the dog for what it is.
  11. there were popular x in the 70s , for rabbits / hares /foxes , but think went out of fashion , when bullxs and saluki type xs came more popular. still not bad x though , must be somebody out there that keeps the odd one . in there kennel .?
  12. nice dog and pups, how the bitch bred and how much bull% and running dog in both parents ?
  13. ye that another good one above , the young dog not seeing the rabbit at 1st, more so the smaller type lurcher, both my 1xs are quite tall , Bryn 25in , and Buck 28in , so they get on to the rabbits quick . But us humans are 5ft- 6ft of the ground so we see the rabbit better than any dog , i am near 6ft so could alot more than me dogs. But i did go out with a bloke yers ago in the 80s lamping couple times, when i was into racing my none ped little whippet . He hold his little bitch in the air about chest height in his one hand, and the lamp in the other she was only 20lb 20in
  14. good advice above , and not all rabbits are easy to catch anyway, over the years , ive took old Bryn to alot of places , and he caught great mopping them up 30 a night . Then were i used live south staffs you dog would do well to get a dozen in a night, the rabbits were like little rockets in to edge , some places are lamped alot they soon learn to piss off lol .But in saying that both of my 1xs could pick rabbits up quite easy by 6 months old, some young dogs get the knack quick and its natural , others takes longer . Bloody old Bryn now at 11 year old still fast with his
  15. yeh it will be mate, seen some real good'ns over the years , when the time right i have one .
  16. HAVE GOOD'UN DAVE , still only pup yet , till you get to my age lol
  17. 3in the right hands there good training tool , but the people who should use them pet owners etc , wouldn't because they think there to cruel ok fair enough .But the people who are the worst using them , are our so called working dog people . he a example , on a shoot i used beat on , a gun's lab dog ran in on another gun's shot bird, so this twat the owner give the dog full wack of its e/collar , the dog went flat across the field, right in to the next field , then across a main road , nearly getting run over by a car . it was fecking right mess what happened , with this pri
  18. being careful what we write on here as the site and others have cops look at it , alot of farmers with cattle = milk/ beef, hate having pigs on there ground , and if lads got rid of few for them, they be more than happy . i see regular them on verges by the road, they look like they been hit by cars lol , it dont take the brain of Britain to see whats going on lol . when i started in lurchers back 30 odd years ago, i had to make me mind up if i wanted to hunt legal be it , shooting (pigeons) , ferreting , anyting in the day with no dogs = lurchers , as you will get lot of permissi
  19. 100 % , pump the black animals with 1/2 dozen guns , that thin them out a bit
  20. i had none ped whippet bitch in the 80s , and was very easy to train , she bring back rabbits in the lamp , and quite biddable little dog, she was 20in 20lb , she got on to her rabbits quick no prob . the whippet in my opinion is the most biddable of all the sighthounds , ok nothing like the herding type xs collie xs gsd xs etc , but really how clever as a dog got to be to just catch a poxy rabbit lol

spot on ken, keep the dirty fookers over there
  22. yeh very true , if small type fields then the x i said above , that type would be up at 'um quick whippet x grey x coursing dog fit the bill, that what i look for, and it make good lamping dog as well fast/ agile t with good wind soon fill the bag deff .
  23. not sure if you get that type of dog with coursing type dogs, i always get the feeling when you hear or watch most vids of these type dogs, they course 3 or more mins on the quarry , where stamina seems bit more important than speed in these type dogs, thats what there renown for . not saying you dont get quick striking dogs, as you prob do, but on average wouldn't think you do . maybe get coursing dog x back to whippet x grey type dog, this be more quick killing type dog you be after. prob coursing lads know alot more than me lol, just a thought .!
