Will it really be the dream you all imagine?....yes, for me it has been, the freedom here in Canada compared to the uk is night and day..... as for going to work....unless your loaded, yes, you would have to go to work pretty much what ever country your in, the difference is the quality of the way you work, it`s more laid back here, yes, you do a days work but not with the same pace as some of the places I've worked in the uk, i wouldn't necessarily say you would need to be a highly skilled person to get a good wage to live on here, a skilled person can live really well. a handyman trades20 points

Funny having this yap with my lad earlier.. He's 20 in a couple of weeks, worked for me for just over a year full time, worked in the Co-op whilst he was at college and bits for me in summer holidays etc...he has saved bloody hard, he is into his finances and has money in stocks and shares etc (most of his yap goes over my head lol)... anyway, through all his own work he's got enough for a deposit on a 2 bed house.. we take no rent off him for living home, and he gets hos grub etc...because imo him saving is what it's about, I'll help as much as possible, but they've got to help themselve9 points

No but what they can do is what most people I reckon here did. Buy a small place to start off and fix it up then move to a bigger place use the value to their advantage rather than wanting a dream home straight off the bat and being hoodwinked into crippling debt by fancy pictures and salesmen6 points

A lot of this stuff is a frame of mind thing too. There’s people earning £40k a year and spending £45k a year and they feel like millionaires, everything on finance and credit card have all the pictures to prove they’ve really made it. Once something is 3/4 paid the bank will give them more and it’s probably all rosey until the day you can’t earn the £40k and the pension doesn’t cover it, no saving so then the banks game has really paid off they’ll take your house. It all depends how your reared I was in a house where once I had reached my mid 20s I had bought a house and was out making my own5 points

I've said for a long while now that all i want from money is to buy more time.. I think i could have all the time in the world, if I cashed in here and moved, we have talked about it a lot... I think where we live in the country we are very lucky in many aspects, but it's changing pretty quickly and I've travelled around with work more than enough to know this bubble will eventually burst.. I dont know where we'd go, it was always Ireland years ago through my family ties etc, but I'm.not sure anymore about that.. Most places in central Europe you'd be living mortgage free on wh5 points

Do wither of you happen to know a lad who keeps a line of running dogs from south Wales ? I can’t remember his username , but he was a very knowledgeable lad , very reserved and able to listen to others opinions and debate well. bowline his running dogs line was called4 points

Heartwarming to see you make friends bud there’s hope for everyone. Just don’t f**k it up now spouting nervous nonsense and whatever you do don’t challenge him to a straighter straight away if he’s only a kid. Greyman will be proud of you getting out and mixing4 points

Seriously bud I’m not interested arguing with you. People are just sharing there experiences and saying why they would or would not leave the UK? So far you’ve disagreed with everyone on everything that’s been said. Maybe just take a step back and listen to people who’ve been where you are in life some will have done better and some will have done worse but maybe you’ll learn something4 points

Just bumped in to a kid with a pair of coursing breds he bred himself that are a few weeks older than mine, lovely pups.4 points

Here’s a thing and I’m sure anyone who has run a business will tell you the same…..maybe 20% of your customers are 99% of your problems ! So, you get rid of those 20% and, yes, you are that 20% of clients poorer BUT…..you solved 99% of your stress and aggro and your life is better. Same applies to moving, you may not be earning a few grand a week anymore but by f**k your living like an emperor….freedom and time to spend how you want with who you want…you may not have a brand new car on the drive but who the f**k needs one if things like that ain’t important to you ?4 points
 -
Things like a silly electric car and a mock cobble driveway to park it on holidays in Florida just to make the shite your living seem worthwhile and your standing in the street seem better than all the other hamsters running on the same wheel ,anyone in mind lol4 points

Moaning is all we are good at ,making things better not so good most moaning here now would be moaning we’re ever they are it’s what people do changing things is always to much trouble, I moved out from the city to the sticks and love it if it got shit I’d move on again it’s just learning to live without all the silly trapppings we think are valuable and give us some kind of superiority over others,4 points

The shame is, nobody learns things until they are older, some learn quicker than others….im not one of those ! lol I always have great admiration for these young switched on types who are smart from a young age and think bigger than lads like me did at a similar age. If I was a young man again and had the smarts to predict the future I’d have bought myself a place abroad years ago and just commuted or used the internet better or some such thing……I’d have been caked ! There’s good and bad in everything, I’ve always thought if you were allowed to keep enough of your own money then the safety net is less likely to be required. Swings and roundabouts mate, nobody is trying to convince you that you shouldn’t be happy with a £400,000 3 bed semi and a 35 year mortgage or negligible disposable income, nobody wants to persuade you that your £50,000 car on the never never isn’t a distraction from the fact you have £100 in the bank. Nobody wants to make you feel down that you pay more for the NHS a week than you would private and can’t get an appointment o3 points

Probably due to my age i wouldn't leave the UK though i would definitely move to another part of the country some where more remote that the madness of mass immigration has not affected for the time being. The Orkneys or a small village on the East coast some where. I know a couple of lads who have moved to Thailand the same age as me and can live comfortably on their pit pension and state pension.3 points

Central and Eastern Europe is positioning itself to pick up all the skills and money that no longer want to have the piss taken out of them in the UK tax rates of 10%, no capital gains, zero inheritance, best internet in the whole of Europe, clean, cheap housing, 3rd world types are like rocking horse shit because our eastern cousins don’t like them, cheap healthcare, access by car to the whole of Europe……if the EU carry on with this digital currency business I’ll be giving it serious thought. Oh, and no tax on foreign income is some states…..3 points

i had a lada niva when i was younger, bloody good motor.....there was nothing luxury about it but it was a really good off road vehicle....it had hi-low and diff locks....i predominantly had it for towing my boat which was a heavy boat which it towed well.... there was a little story behind this lada....after a days fishing we got back to shore along with the other boats out that day, and our boat wasn`t as good looking as some of the other boats, it had a blue cuddy and an orange bottom which didn`t fit in amongst the local snobs.....which had pukka fishing boats, fish finder, radio, nav2 points
