Well in one week weve gone from snow ,ice rain tempretures below freezing to a barmy 15 degrees today , parts of wales flooding and more heavy rain predicted next week So at cop 29 they have agreed to give 300 million dollars to small island countries , surely we should be investing more in our own flood defences and looking after own ?9 points

Was listening to a background debate on you tube whilst pottering about 1) we are , when the electric ark schemes get f****d off , the only G20 country, apart from Saudi Arabia , without the means of domestic steel production . 2) drax power station runs on burnt wood imported from the forests of North Pacific America . Yet we can’t open a coal mine in Cumbria ( 120 miles away ) to provide to it . What have we done to this country9 points

A mate has recently sent me this link mate I honestly believe that the only way to force another GE would be for everyone to down tools and bring the country to a standstill which we know won't happen.7 points

Sort of relative to the post ; I got my Virgin Media bill today and it had gone up by £10 a month from £39 to £49 with no explanation. I rang them and got to speak to an obviously Asian lady who said all she could do was reduce my monthly bill by £2 ! I said close my account and I’ll go to one of your competitors. She said hold on I’ll transfer you. I then spoke to a lass from Middlesbrough and she said give me a minute, she came back and said I’ll cancel this months bill, next months bill will be £20 and then £28 a month guaranteed until April ‘26 , how does that sound ?6 points

I always wonder if any of you lot have any idea at all about the army or how it works the army isn’t a case of you join up and you return two decades later with bad knees , a drinking problem and bad attitude if I so wished , I could have taken my dog anywhere baring foreign deployments , to Kenya Afghanistan’s etc . Postings to the north of Scotland are sought after by a lot of my mates so they can get out after the deer , two of my mates , still serving , have venison butchery businesses . once you reach a certain competence and experience , I can often pick and choose my w4 points

Just got back from a mooch down the local woods and bumped into an ex steel worker i know walking his dog and the first thing he said have you signed that petition to call for a GE then went on a rant about Starmer and the Labour party how they have lied and are conning everyone and said he had seen the number of signatures rising on GB news. No wonder the left slate this news channel and thank feck we now have a different news channel than the main stream media one's we only had years ago.4 points

No Jok every thing is raw. For two nice size Pasties. Its just Morrisons shortcrust pastry. If making your own pastry use strong bread flower. Don't use "just Roll pastry" it will fall apart on you. 130g Maris peppers cubed. divided in two, Raw 130g beef skirt cubed. divided in two. Raw 80g swede divided in two. Raw 60g onion chopped. divided in two Raw knob of butter in each one or clotted cream. 1/2 tsp salt in each one 1/4 tsp black pepper in each one Crimped up and egg washed. 165c in fan4 points

Anyone got their eye on any decent black Friday deals?? Think my Mrs is going to eventually get an air fryer. She's only been looking at them for the last 2 years!4 points

It makes me sad stiff. I live in the black country . And all of the large steelworks that I remember as a kid , have been replaced with houses and flats , filled with brown people. The pubs that all of those steel workers used to drink in , have all but vanished , and so has any sense of community.4 points

Not that crazy mate there trying to get out there own heads because they can’t cope with life on life’s terms and drug of choice doesn’t matter the behaviours that come with taking and getting there hands on it has a knock on effect with society as with the debt and family break ups seen a lot of lads come in with coke or herion problem get of the stuff get some clean time or get on a script work there way down of that then again some life problem comes up they can’t deal with and they pick up the drink instead and think there ok because that was never a problem …. Until it is addic4 points

Hopefully you can collect her , ive seen flooding quite afew time in this area and its devastating to see people loose everything , then when they eventually get sorted out there insurance goes sky high if they can get insured, house value falls ect That why i think we should be spend more on flood defences than sending money abroad3 points

Years ago I used to patrol a lot of jointed bullhead rail which is an older type of rail still found in sidings and less used routes, it was quality stuff Sheffield steel that used to be turned around around once worn on one side to utilise the other side every 50 years or so, I took a top engineer out once who was quoting me all these dates that the rail was put in and I disagreed with him he was adamant he was right until i showed him the dates which are stamped on the web of the rail the middle bit on the sides, late 1800s some of it was stamped. The rail they use now is mainly 1131b f3 points

Well not just that mate . despite what’s people around me say , I always use the railways as the example . Everywhere around this world , Britain built the railway . There are still railways stamped Sheffield steel in the sub continent from when Victoria was in the throne. Not having that capability anymore just diminishes our UK plc brand imho my pal , who I served with , lives in port talbotand now makes his living as a crane operator. His father’s family worked many years in the furnaces there and when he was involved in the deconstruction of the plants , his father was a3 points

I was listening to someone talking about that wood power station, we pay two million a day to the country that produces it then drag it halfway round the world on diesel ships and burn it in the most polluting power station in Europe all in the name of net zero3 points

What gets me watching the house of commons when on the news. They sit over from each other like f***ing children. Laughing at each others comments when countries upside down. Bank accounts filling up. When us the general public are struggling to come to terms with how they can f**k our country up and get away with it.3 points

Well,.. I hung out with an Army guy for a few seasons,.. we mostly did the rabbits and a few Roe,.. and I pretty soon realised, that being in the Military was a bit different to working in a Factory, or for some building firm.. He had to abide by certain rules. There was obviously a few fiddles and opportunities to slink off,.. more so if you had a bit of Rank, and had been in a Regiment for several years, and knew how to work the system... But,.. on the whole, my pal had to toe the line and be available, if called upon. The guy I was rabbiting with, was permanently based on Sa3 points

Have you got a proper diagnosis? I think there's 3 particular types of antibiotics depending on the location a severety of the infection. If you get your hands on some they might not be the right ones and will be a waste of time anyway.2 points

Hi, yeah, I would probably have met the Guy,...I seemed to cross paths with the majority of folk mentioned in the early jottings , books, articles, etc.... Facts were, back then, I used to get about a bit ,...I always had an almost perverse urge to meet various people, described as being, genuine hunting men... It took me a few years,.. but, I eventually grew out of it,...I stopped searching for heroes, and then everything became, a whole lot clearer...2 points
