Let's vote for the party that stops all benefits for undiagnosable illness , prevent immigrants from claiming health housing or benefits until they've worked for 5/10 years, deport all illegals immediately, clamp down on woke civil service powers, which are unelected, bring back capital punishment, utilise prisoners to the benefit of the state. Just general law and order and border control, renationalised water at a cost to shareholders never to be resold, massive investment in skills to young generation pointed towards any shortages , financial benefit to encourage marriage or family, huge in

  11. I reckon back then mate everyone preferred dogs for that reason and remember some dogs that would go missing for days and could be found around an house and street where a bitch would be in heat some times a fair distance away and then scraps with other male dogs that had the same idea.

  12. Remember having this book bought for me for my 12th birthday with text and pictures of dogs from all over the world. Though it was the picture of the Deerhound in it that I nagged my parents in wanting one though obviously they ignored my pleads as a dog of that stature would have been no good to us as kids scrounging around our local haunts with our pack of mongrels.

  13. But, the very fact that they do not live underground is a good thing because when you do inevitably find the bloody things, because there are 1000's of them everywhere now, the fact that they do not live underground is easier to explain. The largest mammal that lived underground when I started out with terriers is now extinct, pit ponies.

  27. Nice thread Leo sorry not popped in for a bit, I do like a sling bow as you know I have made a few mainly because it’s a lot more discreet than wandering around looking like Robin Hood in a country lifting with antis, and goody goody’s never had a shop bought one but the old Diablo is a real easy conversion would love to get me a pig with one like you say 15/20 metres it’s proper hunting the real skill is getting close to your quarry quite fancy making a starship version as they make quite a lot more power than a normal catty

  28. Tent wise mate it might pay you to go to a Go Outdoors shop. The bigger ones will have loads of tents set up in store so you can see what you're actually buying. I would go Air beam tent now if I was after a big one again as it was divorce shit putting up my old 8 man Outwell Montana with a bloody head strong Mrs!! If you're after something smaller and cheaper a flexi poled 4/5 manner will be fine and still easy to pitch. Try to get to a shop mate and pick their brains!! Can't beat camping with the little uns mate!!

  29. I’ve never seen a working Dogo in person. Has anyone else on here ? What could they do here in the UK that a purpose bred lurcher couldn’t ? There’s dogs here that take everything in the UK , including the big deer and boar, so what would be the point of a Dogo ? I’ve often thought about having a working type Borzoi or Chartpolski or Azawak or whatever, but what would be the point ? There’s probably better lurchers available for the quarry we have here, so the “exotic” types would only be an indulgence. Just my opinion, of course. Cheers.

  31. Deer are overrunning the countryside round my way, total pain in the arse. Bloody dogs are obsessed and just about ever walk ends up with some kind of “incident” and being fairly small dogs they get a bit of a battering. Old lurcher is 11.5 and got various issues but keeps pulling the fuckers down then can’t walk after. That may sound fun but I normally walk the dogs with my toddler on public footpaths and it’s not ideal!

  32. A good way to almost guarantee a catch fishing is to go on a charter boat Mackrell fishing you can catch on every drop almost when there running...you can usually go for just a morning..or afternoon 3...4 hours....also get to cook the fresh Mackrell after...

Between that, family life and everything in between I've been trying to plod on with the kennels when time allows. Picking up a new lurcher pup next week and a mates gifted me a black bitch so will have to pull my finger out and get the last few bits sorted ASAP.

  36. Nice night away last weekend, only a quick one as didn't get away from the yard until 11.30 ish after laying concrete. First night in the tentbox and can say we enjoyed it and slept well. I usually prefer a more remote camping spot but we were meeting friends in their camper and they wanted electric hookup so headed up to baskerville Hall in Hay on Wye. Cheap enough £24 for two adults for the night and they leave you alone to it.

  37. Yess pal I use a rangefinder, use to use it when practicing shooting at distance with my cattys. So has come in real handy while learning the slingbow. And ten yards would be ideal shot range , if we was in certain states in America were it's legal to hunt with a slingbow. Looks like the ideal way to shoot them is from a blind or tree stand and max range 20 meters of so. Would love to go abroad with an outfitter and do it. I find all the large game bow hunting on YouTube very exciting to watch. I was recently looking at mechanical broadheads. All very interesting stuff. Finally " while e
