  1. Nice shooting mate . Do you think the thought of ( one shot only) deepens your concentration when "building the shot" ? What cal is your Raider jjm. A 60 yd head shot is superb shooting - hats off to you mate, - well done ! atb
  2. Squirrel phal or vindaloo would be interesting
  3. Nice shooting Bunny the 100 becomes addictive after a start like this. atb
  4. Rapid mk 2 in .177 cal - very good rifle mate. atb
  5. 4LBS 5oz of any mixed fruit, 1 bag sugar / gallon (3lb suger makes rocket fuel) and yeast - boiling water added to the sugar 1st mix well and dissolve the sugar well, add fruit and leave a couple of days. Strain the fruit off and discard add yeast, let nature do the rest in your spotlessly clean bucket. So 5 gallons = 21/22 lbs fruit 5 bags sugar or 15 lbs sugar for high alcohol Yeast (high alcohol) "hick" Presently got 10 gallons of Elderberry port
  6. Hi mate, you do realize "you need a bigger freezer" don`t you ? You sure have chosen the air gun snipers rifle ? Absolutely lethal in .177 on shooting sticks or bipod in a hide. You wont believe the accuracy you can achieve. Great choice mate. atb
  7. In a HW 100 KT .177 i shoot 52 shots - 4 x 14 shot magazines, i can shoot a 5th magazine of 14 shots when plinking at the range but when hunting i stick to no more than 4 magazines as the accuracy is absolutely spot on. In all the time i have used the HW 100 for hunting i don`t think i have ever needed a 3rd,4th or 5th magazine. atb
  8. Hope this helps your decision. I use the HW 100 KT .177 in standard form for hide shooting.I much prefer to use .177 cal for threading shots through spindley branches to head shoot wood pigeons. I find that my HW 100 KT is used far more than any other rifle i own, it is lethal on shooting sticks out to 50 yds with ease. On my KT i use the Mamba Lite mtc-scb 4-16 x 40 scope and i`m downright disappointed whenever a miss occurs. On my HW 100 KS .22 i use the Hawke Sport HD 4-12 x 50 which i find a great inexpensive scope on a .22 cal pcp, with a lovely mill dot cross hair, again - extremely
  9. Hi mate, HW 100 kt .177 all the way. Outstanding rifle. atb
  10. hi mate - 1 gallon = 2lbs elderberries 1 lb blackberries 1 lbs oranges 5 oz sloes 7 pints water 3 lbs sugar High alcohol yeast (port style or red wine) Remove as much white pith as possible from the oranges.Put the fruit and sugar in a bucket and add hot water to dissolve the sugar,( i dissolve sugar and water 1st) Let it all cool . After a few days strain through cheese cloth into a demi john, top up with water add yeast. The fruit can be used again but do add a further 1 lb elderberries to ensure a full bodied port. Just 5 x the above
  11. Shooting Matt , I often shoot Magpies with a heart/lung shot - the Air Arms Field really slams home in .177. The Magpie population has strongly increased around here too. atb
  12. Hi Foggy,- welcome to the forum Take a look at the top right hand side of this page and you will notice an oblong shaped area with search written in it - type in Daystate x2 and then click on the green magnify button - all your answers should be there. atb.
  13. Sat and watched the oak tree and hide from about 10 football fields away (1000 + yds) yesterday afternoon and the crows were "very cautious" of me even at that range, pigeons were fine. I`m going to place about an 18 inch length of broom stick (camo`d up ) out of the hide with a small flappy/ loose strip of camo on the end of it to get them used to a touch of movement and leave it for another week. This is the greatest part of being an air rifle hunter for me, - "fieldcraft" . When i go to the hide in a week or so i will ask one of my sons to come along
  14. Excellent shooting ftm - any chance of that curry recipie Pianoman (please). atb
  15. Hi mate i would recommend you give the calibre question some thought also. Everyone knows my thoughts on the HW 100 range . and the regged ultras. atb.
  16. Had one of these under levers .22`s as a kid . I played around with it a little, it had a double main spring, which was changed to an airsporter spring heh! heh! if i remember rightly (long time ago) . Had a kick like a mule and a right old "twang" to it - at a guess it produced about 9 or 10 ft/lbs (i preferred my bsa meteor) We would shoot rats with it on the local tip. Memories - have fun bugg but don`t enter a competition with it - just remembered i used to pose with a 4x15 scope on it
  17. I never use anything else - AA fields .177 and in .22 but i almost never use ,22 these days. atb
  18. Hi Ali - Rez`s opinion is spot on - 177 is so surgical its quite boring its that accurate with a hw 100 . I could not agree more - so accurate it`s un true. Lads i was hide shooting woodies a week ago with the 100 kt .177 and one woodie was pruning itself at approx` 35 yds. A large branch was between it and my cross hairs but every 30 seconds it raised its head for a check and it caught the AArms diablo smack on first attempt. The HW 100 is still untouchable at present in my humble opinion. atb
