  1. Double Dutch to me Craig. Personally i would go back to this troublesome area of incline and put down markers where you are seeing and getting shots at the rabbits. Take notes of the shot required ie,- marker A 1 milldot h/over , 11/2 milldot left side for incline. The rabbits nearest your markers gets chosen only. Thinking about it shooting at an angle and also up or down hill the pellet will flying against gravity in two ways, not just one (i think).Permanent markers make sense to me. Walking in the woods take a few shots at nurls or marks up in
  2. Hi James and "welcome", James go to the top of this page and you will see "search" in the top right area. Simply type "permission papers" in the search box and then click on the green box magnifying glass (thing). Good luck mate, atb (all the best)
  3. Shooting Bunny your shot placement is atb
  4. This is going to be a very interesting post. atb
  5. Hi John, nice choice and nice shooting. I can only speak for AA fields as i have been very pleased with my results with them in both .177 and .22 - they hit very hard indeed and extremely accurate Ha ! Ha ! si pitterway recommends AA fields in the HW 100`s amongst others. I was at a local range recently and shot at the side of a Falklands veteran sniper who used a HW 97 kt in .177. - boy could he shoot !.He said to me that one of the biggest mistakes made with PCP marksmanship is that the shooter does not listen to their heartbeat shooting at range.
  6. Cutting out any branches in the natural hides done this morning which leaves me to tie up and shape the hides with black or green ties tomorrow. Then when the green shoots develop i`ll cut out from "inside" the hide "out". This type of hide is deadly through the growing months and i can get within 30 yds of any sitty tree with my HW 100 kt sat on a bipod or shooting sticks to boot. The preparation/ fieldcraft is so enjoyable. atb
  7. Hi all, The "lob" effect of .22 is the only reason i shoot .177. Both calibers are as accurate as each other in "open" unobstructed areas but i find .177 ideal for my type of shooting which is hide shooting in woodland areas and shooting through many spindle branches. The "flat trajectory" for me in the woodlands scenario. (said it once i know but had to repeat it,- its a long post) atb
  8. Took a walk or three around the permissions this last weekend and was made up. This last year i have gone after the many Magpies and other corvids at every opportunity and fox when they start to take too much game, or livestock. The wood pigeons are breeding everywhere i look, i had 17 mating pairs of Mallard ducks explode out of two adjoining ponds, Rabbits are low in numbers and i`ll leave them well alone, grey squirrel are also low in number so i`ll leave those too. After checking some foxes this winter the Hares are coming back steadily along wi
  9. Hi Nitevis, i use the HW 100`s in both .177 and .22 - Air Arms diablo fields mate, my preferred calibre is .177 but in .22 the rifle is every bit as accurate if you know your mill dots atb
  10. Ha! ha! we" DO STINK" mate to the animal kingdom, we wreak of predator. Have as many showers as you want, the animal kingdom will smell Human and hear the slightest noise, especially in the wind. atb

  12. When i layed up last night the little feckers came out to the left of me about 100 yards away loads of them then when i moved the little feckers came out to the right of me about 100 yards this went on all night you would think they new i was there . At one point i even took off my glasses as i thought the nv light mite of been lighting my glasses up like a lamp never even got the chance to get a shot away So when i think about it it was not the nv it was me moving about to much should of stayed put like Daz lol atvbmac  Hi Mac,guys, Not sure if this is
  13. One of my mates tried it and said his house smelled like a stagnant pond atb
  14. Mark, I would agree with most of your post, apart from the far more "skill, and field craft" if you think that being out on a saltmarsh waiting for Teal to drop into decoys on a splash 30 yards in front of you does not require field craft, or hitting a Pheasant doing 40mph, curling at 40 yards does not require skill, then I dont think you have done the same kind of shotgun shooting as me Hi Charlie, no mate i have not shot over a salt marsh yet but i have shot - shot guns for for nigh on 40 years in all other situations (i think, age) anyway skill with shotguns yes i have represented, an
  15. Lads if you know your rifle, field craft and calibre my money would be on the true air rifleman with the clinical headshot , long before the shot gunner with a mass of any where that hits will do, shot on geese. atb
  16. Outstanding work John, credit to you John out of interest, what sort of power and accuracy did these vintage air guns achieve ? atb
  17. I shoot shotguns as well as air rifles and find air gunning far, far more enjoyable and requiring far more skill and fieldcraft. Kept to true air rifle ranges i would think any calibre more than capable with a clinical head shot only. atb
  18. Hi Matty I had an inkling you would go 177 . With the weight of a 97 on shooting sticks and well tuned i would imagine that rifle would be awesome in good hands. Good luck with it mate.
  19. Shooting mate . Be well on top of the Magpies as they wreak havoc on the game birds and song birds. atb.
  20. Have i missed some weeks out - is it April 1st ? Can`t be for real this ?
  21. Hi huntinglad, i would lean towards the ultra mate. atb
  22. Hi Walker. I too have both .177 and .22 in the HW 100`s and ditto to all VM said to you. The ultra regged is right up there with the 100`s mate and my opinion on calibre is .177. Good luck with your choice.
