  1. The BSA Ultra - slowly getting the recognition they deserve. My mate has one and i think they are outstanding rifles. Great shooting ! atb.
  2. Shooting DD . By the way, what is the calibre of the mk 3 ? atb
  3. Shooting Skot, that SMK is doing you proud . I believe there are pants you can buy if you have elderly problems but not sure if they come in camo` atb
  4. Now that`s a result. Top shooting lads atb
  5. Turned the FFKR off after 30 seconds, could not stand it. I`ve only ever had one dog lads 27 yrs ago and the travellers offered me a "kings ransom" for him, never ever would i sell him, now i am getting a GSP puppy in 8 weeks. I can assure you i would not dream of making a hated idiot of myself like this, my pup (4th son) will be loved and respected and learn with love, care and attention, - this guy made me feel angry. My first dog Brett would have taken his hand(big style ) had he treated him like that. atb
  6. My GSP cant quite hit Q minor when on the pub piano, but excels when on the kareoke barking "Danny Boy" just ribbing you lads, picking my GSP in three weeks, and then picking him up in eight weeks. atb
  7. In my opinion Si and Davey have given us all some fantastic direction in the art of airgun hunting/marksmanship. From what i have seen i would believe every word these lads say. atb
  8. Welcome back Craig and nice shooting. If its of use to you, i got the idea from a long ago post from Davey - (he used roll your own filter tubes), i use drink straws (much stronger). I cut straws approx` 3" to 4" in length, plug one end with tissue or staple it, then load your good true pellets tail to nose and plug with tissue. Carry them in your top pocket inside an old tobacco tin. Accuracy is paramount. Nearly forgot- tap out your pellets from their tin onto kitchen towel or similar and load the straws.I find the action of putting
  9. Shooting Remy and nice read. atb
  10. Shooting Chris . Your lads face says it all - he loves shooting thanks to you. atb.
  11. Shooting Longers What calibre, make of pellet and ranges mate. Were these head shot, or engine room (heart lung) ? I love to shoot the crows between the shoulder blades when i can but i do like head shots best. atb.
  12. I use Air Arms Fields in both calibres of .177 and .22 and find them extremely accurate and hard hitting. On the Vermin Hunters tv (you tube) Si Pitterway found that RWS fields (if i remember rightly) were in his opinion the best (just) over AA Fields. I`d go AA Fields Si, as they are readily available. atb
  13. I was chatting to Darcy briefly on the HL forums and a little statement said to me (that i find so, so true) was this - .22 offers absolutely no benefit over .177 "unless" a person isn`t accurate. atb
  14. Shot a Magpie today with the hardest hitting calibre by a country mile !!! 18 YDS and good fieldcraft calibre does not matter at all, shot to the head means dead. atb.
  15. I was working on a roof in my village today by the side of an old oak tree. Starlings were nesting and rearing their young in this tree, at a guess i`d say 3 or 4 nests. I watched a large crow flying past, suddenly it decided to attack these starlings and young, the tree exploded with adult starlings flying out and the crow started to kill and eat the young one by one with the starlings going mad flying about. Next two large Magpies joined in the killing, not eating, they just kept killing until all were dead, even throwing the young out of the nest when dead and then
  16. Interesting debate, I take field craft to be my number one skill in air rifle hunting and never build a hide further than 35 yds away from a chosen spot of ground or tree. I try to shoot head shots all the time. Range for my .22 is set to strike a match at 28 yds.I know my milldots and i dont really like shooting further than 35 yds. I curse myself for bad field craft if i am at long range and dont take the shot. Range for my .177 is also set to strike a match at 32 yds and will carry that zero out to 38 yds. I find that the .177
  17. I recognise that permission too, is it in Wigan and they feed the cattle with barm cakes and pies ? atb
  18. Shooting Dirt Your film clip has answered a thousand questions about the deadly HW 100 KT .177 - shot in the head means DEAD. A few lads question the hitting power of .177 cal - thank you to Dirt 1427= you can see the answer .
