My eldest lad was gifted a little Plummer bitch when he was turning 11, was a great wee bitch to have around, dynamite at marking anything, could come ferreting 7 days a week when we was bang at it, an the ratting most nights, was even a useful wee bitch at bolting fox, deffo no digging dog but fkr what she was she was worth her weight in gold, loads a folk off here saw her graft, she impressed me. I didn't post this Purley about salukis no pun intended just saw the site flat n was thinking what my pal had done had good lurchers competed with whippets competed with greyhounds and competed with salukis in the original saluki cup n continued running them when that folded I don't know anyone that's managed to be successful on hares with all the different types and at 64 although always humble his dogs are still always bang on and look great what is it he says don't worry whatever anyone else is doing or not doing or thinking or worrying just go and work your dog it's been a good life..

Some years back, Paul Sagar ‘phoned me and offered to place a pure saluki pup with me. I hadn’t met him then , but we had a mutual friend that put him in touch with me. He said if it was a dog, he’d have the say what bitches it may mate, and if it was a bitch, he’d have the say when and what dog it was mated with and the litter would be his ! He said he would have the final say what competitions or matches it may eventually run in ! I politely refused his offer and said any pup I take on is 100% mine, and I think he really just wanted a dog sitter ! I met him a few times

Went to the Garden Centre today to get some more meal worms for the Blue tit family that are doing really well. Anyway in the bakery department there they had some very large bread baps which we bought. I said we will get some mince from the Butchers and have home made burgers for dinner. Ran all over Scotland and enjoyed it but you can’t compare them to proper English hares that are getting ran just about every day. North Berwick is where you Scottish lads rate them best isn’t it and they don’t seem bad hares some of them, didn’t do much for me like it’s like running on paddocks. Hares down here aren’t the same as they used to be because there not getting ran like they were. I think it’s way simpler than that myself mate, I think it says more about the modern police force than it does anything else….as in, this is the level now. 20 year ago, that spade would have been a traffic warden but now he is a copper……so basically we have a police force full of traffic wardens which looks to be about right.
