  1. Jeez, either they shot up in price or I got a steal, I bought a box of 50 brand new ones for 70 quid I think it was.
  2. Most of my guns like them too, and I find they work well at distance too.
  3. Welcome, and yes I had noticed you was a long time lurker, don't matter, we've all been there.
  4. I always liked the hunter boots, but they are deadly slippy, wet concrete, wet wood, etc, the amount of times my feet went out from under me am surprised I never broke an ankle or something, shame as that was the only thing I found let them down.
  5. You be surprised how many of us are around here ? Have sent you a pm.
  6. I can remember certain places we knew as hotspots, in particular, one private park, we ferreted it every Sunday without fail, it was nowt to see 5 or 6 hundred rabbits out and about, the place was moving. our best day was 362 rabbits, we were all shattered after that day. sadly I had a little walk around it last year and saw 3 rabbits. A few more spots have gone the same way, unsure if it's hunting pressure, Mixy, land management or what, but certainly not the amount about. Now I have a bit of ground, my attitude has changed towards them, I only keep the numbe
  7. Wrong to stop kids fishing, they are the future of our sports, I was only about 5 when I first started going with dad and my uncle, got me hooked for life. Nice pike for a first fish bud, well done.
  8. Welcome to the forum, if you don't mind a bit of a drive you can come and do a bit with us, all vermin, no game.
  9. No idea about the fungus but that looks like a chestnut tree certainly not a cherry
  10. Well in fairness you did them a good turn, they should appreciate it, life don't always turn out that way though.

Looks good, I should make some of that. i find garlic keeps stuff at bay, I rarely get a cold, one every couple of years maybe, Mrs gets one a month from work in a care home place, I never catch it from her though, I swear it's garlic and hot chilli sauce keeps it at bay.
  12. FairPlay to you for been a gent about it, I really hope it doesn't come back and bite you in any way as that would be undeserved. one good thing about insurance companies, they have the clout behind them, and everything is on record. a few yrs ago, whilst reversing into my drive (lwb crew cab tipper) a near neighbour came down the hill and tried getting a five foot wide car through the 4ft gap, the traffic coming the other way had stopped, but she was looking down at her feet, she looked up and I saw her throw a mobile in the passenger side, hit the brakes and then hit my tr
  13. Yeah I've seen them enough times, just not sure I think it's a great idea on a high pressure bottle, and they don't look the prettiest. i put a dr bobs quick fill on my last rapid and really liked it, but it pushed the bottle forward a bit.
  14. You really want one of those don't you ! looking at the photos I can understand why, lovely looking rifles. i don't think you need a fill adaptor for a rapid bottle, it goes straight onto the dive bottle (minus the flex), at least all the ones I had did, it does look odd the filler sticking out the bottle, not sure I like it, but if it works and is safe, after all it a tool not an ornament.
  15. Nice one, least you had a few. ive left the rabbits alone for a few weeks now, concentrating on bloody rats at the moment, plenty of them around the pens.
  16. Thanks lads, a few mixed opinions. His first ever springer was an lgu and he loved it, money meant he had to let it go, so when he had some cash he bought the hw95, however he hated it, so he traded it in for this tx, I will say it seems to shoot reasonably well, but he thinks it could be better, so that's what we're aiming for. We would rather work on it than send it to the likes of ratworks, mainly as I am a firm believer you should know your rifles inside out, and having done plenty of pcp's, I'm keen to find my way around this springer as well, I do know ratworks does so
  17. Yeah, I live in a bloody cold house, draughty as hell, the multi stove has transformed the place, I put a coup,e of fans on top and they really distribute the heat around the room.
  18. Tell thee what bud, it's the best thing I ever did in my place, well worth all the hard work involved. still a couple more little bits to finish it off.
  19. That sounds about right, I just fitted one in my place and the stove alone was over 1k, with all the work I did, 3k sounds about right.
  20. The pylarm pellets are specially made for beeza barrels, I believe the mandrel they used was slightly smaller meaning a lot of bsa barrels were too tight a fit, so they brought out the pylarm for that reason. useless bit of info there !
  21. What do you do, just sand em up with some fine paper
  22. Nice one jimmy, allays good to see what's what before you start, am looking forward to seeing what sort of quality it's been made. i will say it shoots fair well as it is so not expecting too many issues.
  23. Interesting viewing, think you made the right decision not taking the 40mtr shot. what recorder was you using, head mounted ?
  24. Cheers jimmy, am sure it's not difficult, just never worked on one before, what I needed to know is the best way to get it as smooth as possible for him, I don't know anything about kits or Welsh willies ? And top hats....... Starting to sound a lot like common sense now though, no need for all the fangdanglies, a good polish sorts a lot of problems.
