  1. Cheers si, I wondered about a strip and polish up inside, no idea what the pl is like yet, once I have a few ideas to base on I will get him round and we will have a look and see what it's like inside. I have some of that grease in my workshop so no problem there
  2. My mate has the tx200hc, he says it's the best springer he's ever owned, but still wants to smooth it down a bit, reckons it's not nearly the gun he thinks it could be, now he asked me as I know my way around a pcp, but I have no idea about boingers, so what are his best options, short stroke, a drop in kit, ? any ideas or help would be much appreciated as he is a real good lad with not much money but loves getting out with this gun.
  3. Why would you want to keep them out your soup ? Quite happy to use them as a spoon.
  4. Be interested to see how it performs, I need to find something, seems age must be creeping up as I get cold hands every now and again, never did bother me in the past.
  5. Sorry to hear that fella, hope things pick up for you all. i didn't get bass fishing as planned, but done a spot of ratting and knocked a couple of foxes over that have been visiting.
  6. Ah cracking photos there, some real nice looking friends, and looks like they will do a good turn for you in return, been a pleasure reading this thread, just how it should be, wouldn't mind something like those as my farm dog.

    Hazel.

Best thing to be doing over the festive break, I've been out a fair bit myself. what do you use the hazel for ?
  8. Am liking the look of that suckler, be sure to post the finished article won't you.
  9. I didn't, went with the full English in the end, got the Mrs and muvver in law working on it right now, Mrs knows how I like my grub so her main role is to ensure nowt is missed off the plate.
  10. Just deciding if I want to go for a full English or not.
  11. I had the exact same concerns as the op years back when I returned to air rifles. i leave one space in the mag empty, I put the mag in and close the bolt on the empty chamber, I walk around until I want to take a shot like this, when I have a shot to take then I re cock and chamber a pellet, once fired I do not re cock until I want to take a shot, that way I am never wandering around aimlessly with a loaded gun, I always know I need to chamber a pellet before taking the shot
  12. What did that cost if you don't mind me asking
  13. Well, if I don't get there tomorrow, I am hoping to nip down the coast and get a few hours in after the bass, conditions and tides are perfect for once.
  14. Or you could always pretend it was already in when you bought the place, find out you've not fitted it in line with building regs and not be able to get it signed off as safe by building control, have to take it out to sell the house.... or the minute you finish spending your time and money only to find out you needed planning for a new chimney, they don't grant a retrospective application for whatever reason and you have to take it all back out and make good the damage done, a timely and costly exercise. or have a house fire.... or kill yourself and family through carbon monoxi
  15. As some know, I got the Mrs a camera, cannon dslr d700. i am thinking I need a spotting scope for long range target shooting, and she just loves watching wildlife, and stars and planets are quite fascinating, so I have been toying with getting some sort of good spotter, I have found this that you can add the camera onto for taking shots https://www.jessops.com/p/celestron/regal-m2-80ed-spotting-scope-93440?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0q3D-qui2AIVQrHtCh1l6gUpEAQYAyABEgL_yvD_BwE is it any good for what I want, is it compatible it's the cannon, or are there any others ou
  16. Well I got the scope, not done any testing yet but first impressions are very much WOW, the build quality feels and looks fantastic, the reticule, may take a little getting used to but it certainly suits my eye, and it's one I would have chosen, I get the feeling this should be a very well made unit, looking forward to trying it out.
  17. They are ok ish in fac, but not brilliant, can't remember what power my mate was running when we tried them in his, probably 30 plus I would imagine, wasn't that impressed with them.
  18. Now that's what the inside of a fridge should look like, just remembered I need to be doing some red cabbage myself.
  19. Now frantically looking for flights.............
  20. WHAT ..... You either have bloody big plates or the breakfast is too small, I like a plateful of grub, who cares if the beans are touching the sausages, pile it on. my list is as follows, proper size cups, no poncy things. free refills. no snotty egg, but it must have a runny yolk. good quality meat, hate cheap nasty tasteless sausages. i don't want to be adding extras, so make sure you have an option for everything in a breakie, I hate having to ask for mushrooms, or the 'beans or tomatoes with that' I want both ! proper bread, buttered properly.
  21. Wouldn't touch one with a barge pole, I've had two and got shot of both of them, twangy things, felt like a toy in my hands, poorly built, and the accuracy was worse than a drunk at the urinals ! spoil yourself and get a cricket, puts the fx to shame. I won't be getting nowt shooting related I doubt, they know I like my stuff 'just so' and am fussy, so they let me sort it out myself, just the way I like it.

    Turkey prices

Depends what breed, the commercial double breasted whites as poults are ok in sept, depending how big you want them, if it's a stag or a hen, but late Aug early sept is a fairly safe bet for a reasonable size bird. i start selling day old in may.

Depends what you call decent, and what size your talking about. My free range turkeys are £8 a kilo.
