  1. And any reply to that ? its an interesting idea, one I had toyed with before, but after reading the comments posted, it seems they are too hit and miss size wise, which would make sense and correlate with my findings of differing head sizes suiting different barrels, that problem would be multiplied by using a solid slug. I would still be interested in trying a batch in a few of our rifles, who knows, may even find one that suits.
  2. Thanks, as much as it sounds a pain, at least they are protecting the hunting for the locals, I presume the tag fees fill government coffers ?
  3. What's the deal on hunting laws and brits, are you not allowed. i have some very good friends in Canada and they are often saying I should go out for the hunting, something I would love to do one day.

    Any clues ?

I found these right on the edge of one of my spinneys.
  7. Personally, I would probably take it on whilst looking for a new proper home for it. That's provided your financially ok to do it bud. be surprised, I have a mastiff x Great Dane, it was in a one bed flat on the 9th floor in central London ! Dickheadsdidnt realise how big it would grow when they bought her as a puppy. some folk ain't safe with a paper bag let alone an animal.
  8. What part of east anglia ? It's a big area, if your near bedford, or don't mind travelling this way I can put you in touch with a few folk, keepers, shoots, farms and your welcome to come out with us.
  9. Anyone got one, or used one, or know anything about them, or even have any thoughts on them, am looking at a secondhand one but cannot find a single review in English.
  10. She is now looking for a tripod and a remote shutter switch for it, she is loving it, even if a bit baffled by most of the settings, looking forward to her getting the hang of it as she can take some cracking pics just with her phone. we are very very lucky where we live As we have a plethora of nature around us, mice, voles, the amount of songbirds is unreal, birds of prey of all sizes from screech owl to buzzards, and everything in between. we also have a wild flower meadow so lots of plants and insects in there, a pond full of dragon flies and newts, pheasants and deer on the lawn
  11. Ok, so I ended up getting her a cannon 700d, with a couple of lenses. MY GOD, you need to be a professor to work it, this is going to take some time to figure out.
  12. Personally I think your full of shit and need to shut the f**k up, it's wankers with your attitude to animals that tars all country sports folk with the same brush, you may as well be the bullet in an antis gun. Do what you will your own way, but don't sit on here publicising it.
  13. Just use fenn traps, no poison = no chance of the wrong thing getting copped. traps work 24/7 for as long as you leave them out, much more effective (if not as much fun) as shooting them.
  14. Phil, my offer of a loan on the n550 still stands (provided it doesn't sell in the meantime) so that would give you two units to compare.

Thanks, it's the tanning part I need to learn, although I think they look better with the head still on them. cant imagine be much profit after shipping them to the states unless they make stupid amounts of money, surely they have much better things than bloody foxes.
  16. Yes, sounds like it's a fixed parallax scope, no issues with that, they work, sounds like your mate adjusts the focus for his eye hence you change it back to suit your own.

Ha, prob right pal, but I'm getting 4-5 a week so no shortage of candidates.
  18. The trannies don't use vans round here, they all gone posh and got apartments.
  19. The ring near your eye is just a focus, to bring the ret into focus for your eye, you only need to adjust that the once to suit your eye. the parallax has been well described so far, you will know when it needs adjusting as that's more akin to focus on binos, at differing ranges the parallax will sharpen the picture up nicely.
  20. There's tuners and then theres tuners, I think there are a few who seriously improve guns, others are ok, so a certain name put to a gun 'should' add value, at the very least make them more desirable over factory standard.
  21. Guns ain't making nowt at the mo, I've got an r10 that's been regged and tuned by ratworks and I can't even get a sale at £450. think your other prices about right, but the op states one or the other scopes, not both.
  22. Well done on the buck, looking forward to the next adventure.
