You can buy a small press for around 40 quid - the good Lady bought me one, and I've just made my first batch. Works a treat, but she wasn't very happy to discover that I'd use her smoothie maker to pulp 25kg of apples ! Labour intensive, but worth it - got over 10 litres of juice, split into two brews, one with added cider yeast, the other fermenting on its natural yeast.........both blipping away merrily ! Happy days !

Todays interesting fact - Peter Bazalgette, who runs Endemol TV, is descended from a famous Victorian engineer, who designed London's sewage system. So, his forebear dedicated his life to removing 5hit from homes, while he dedicates himself to putting it back !

For me, the TX is too heavy for practical purposes. It's a big old lump to heave around fields ! I'd prefer a 97 or 99. -

We lived in Fenland around 10 years ago, and use to catch loads of them on worms or a bunch of maggots........bloody things were a nuisance ! Sadly, they're in huge decline now so, if you get one please put it back ! An old fella told that , if you catch one from fresh water, it's at least 4 years old, has swum thousands of miles and has probably even crossed a few miles of dry land !!!! An amazing creature, that deserves our help - once again, if you get one, put it back !

I've got to endure "The One Show" tonight, because the good Lady's favourite singer is on......... I don't suspect there'll be many likers here (including me), but he has got one heck of a voice !

I've watched that clip soooooooo many times - it has me rolling every time ! It must be an awful, embarrassing affliction, but I do admire how those fellas seem to have 'embraced' it, and learned to live with it.

My regular shoot is only relatively small (10 guns), but I've never seen a single bird go to waste........ I take my fair share, as does anyone else that wants them, but I'll also take any excess birds - I probably got hold of 20 or so last season. I'll dish a few out to a couple of elderly neighbours who miss a nice bit of game. I'll repay small favours with a bird or two, then I'll make any left over into pies, pasties and stews etc for the freezer...........just don't tell the grandkids ! I'll even take any badly shot up birds for the dogs and ferrets - waste not, want not

The HW80 is a more than capable rifle - the rest is down to the bloke holding it. Give it a go and see how you get on ! Practise loads and, most of all, enjoy yourself !

To be honest, that was my first thought ! Second thought was "Not natural bedfellows, surely !" -
I use a British army surplus gas mask holder............ definitely NOT a manbag ! I've also got an IDF waist bag - kind of a small tactical load carrier. But I only ever wear them in the middle of a field.........in the dark ! (Which doesn't sound at all gay, does it ?)

I agree completely Tim ! What I'm saying is that it's absolutely right that the police should have powers to deal with this issue - in fact, they already have. What I'm saying is that I'm not sure that they should have the power to permanently revoke a license, there and then, at the roadside. Currently, they have the power to make such a recommendation to DVLA, so perhaps they should just be able to revoke temporarily, pending medical assessment ?

Tax, insurance, MOT, and registered keeper are all checked before they even stop you........... I read that the will have the power to revoke licences at the roadside. Surely, that power is only in the gift of DVLA ?
