Am I right in thinking that commercial is more expensive than 'regular' insurance ?
-
In a nutshell, I'm thinking of getting a small van (Berlingo-type), as I'm sick of the car getting knackered up........... It most definitely will NOT be used for ANY type of business purpose - just to cart the dogs around, chuck my fishing or shooting stuff in, as well as life's regular shopping trips and so on. A small van is simply more practical for my needs........... Could the panel please explain whether commercial insurance is compulsory on such vehicles, or can I have a regular car-type, domestic use policy on it ? What about bigger vans, like a Vivaro, for instance ?

In light of the intervening posts, the prosecution rests it's case, Your Honour..............?

I joined in 2013 and , in that time, I've learned a lot of things about a lot of thngs (from some knowledgeable people) and had many a good laugh. I've questioned many opinions, and had my own questioned just as many times - but always in a fair and genuine manner. I don't contribute much nowadays, simply because the forum doesn't seem, to me, to be the good-natured place it used to be. Too much name-calling, petty grievances and relentless nit-picking.........often by the same culprits. It diminishes the forum as a whole, and paints us all in a bad light, to the outside observer.

Met's official figure is 373 - an increase on last year............and to think it was pi55ing down all weekend ! 156 were detained for drug offences, 69 for weapons offences and 9 for sexual offences. Transport police made an additional 12 arrests. Weapons seized included several dozen knives and a razer. Fun for all the family, eh ?

Cheap, political point-scoring ! An easy target, which most of the general public will instinctively dislike.............but very, very few will ever use, and even fewer will understand. DEFRA states that is no case for banning the collars, then, 2 weeks later and with no additional research, decide there IS a case for banning them ! An unpopular government trying to do something 'popular' - "see how much we care.......were banning owners from electrocuting their dogs !" Undiluted, totally transparent bollox ! Michael Gove is a w4nker of the highest order !

The good Lady BB saw me mooching this thread, and asked me to post one of her personal favourites, for your consideration............

The Met's Diversity and Equality Unit................(we don't have an emoji for "puts head in hands and weeps")

That's a completely immoral suggestion, that stereotypes an entire community and you should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting it ! I'll go with 23 !

I'd bet they don't release figures in full. That would be admitting the true scale of the problem, and demonstrate their own ineffectiveness in maintaining law and order ! Much better to give ITN a bit of film of a copper dancing with a big momma............

As if it wasn't bad enough that they waste millions of pounds trying to police the 4 day crime spree that is the Notting Hill carnival !

Yet another example of the triumph of hope over experience ! (There hope, our experience !) -
We have an elderly lady across the road with Alzheimer's. When we first came here, she was forever escaping from the house and wandering the village. One of us would walk her back home, but she'd insist her husband, who must have the patience of a saint, was an imposter, trying to kill her etc. Sometimes she'd get a bit handy with him, then call the police, saying he was hitting her ! I hadn't seen her for a while, and thought she might have gone into care, but I saw them in their front garden the other day, and get a real shock. She's lost loads of weigh and is really frail. Her husband

Proper bikes them, Jok !

If they have a female commentator, as I heard recently, who didn't know is the difference between a leg spinner and a leg break bowler, it's a poor state of affairs !
-
It's not a lot better on the cricket side of things - women creeping into the commentary box.................is nothing sacred anymore ?

Mini Metro D505 AGU. Got it home from the showroom and backed into my garden wall !

The only time you'll hear BGD" and "talent" in the same sentence...............

Is he a terrorist sympathiser ? He had many meetings with senior IRA, lays wreaths at the graves of Black September (in the Palestinian Martyr's cemetery), and has spoke of his "friends in Hezbollah", has publicised his support for the Muslim Brotherhood and is a clear anti-Semite. He has given speeches to supporters of Anjem Choudary and others who would subjugate the British lifestyle and culture I'd sy, he's a bit more than a sympathiser - I'd say he's at the head of the Fifth Column. The man is a traitor, in my eyes, and should be held in the contempt he deserves !

When I as my first car, I saved a fortune on a personalised plate............. ...........changed my name to D505 AGU !
-
Jimmy Tarbuck had COM 1C....... ...............which probably attracted the attention of Trading Standards ! I believe the most expensive plate ever offered was F1...........for a cool £15 million !

Many have tried, but there is no-one (no-one !) who could sing like Aretha. If her voice didn't bring you joy, then you have no soul ! A sad loss, but a merciful release from a terrible illness. Rest in peace, good lady

England win 2nd Test by an innings and 159 runs, and lead the series 2-0. Not bad for a supposedly shite side against the no.1 ranked team !
