Potatoes, strawberries, courgettes, peas, broad, French and runner beans, 6 tomato varieties, various chilli's & bell peppers, cucumber and butternut squash..........a cherry tree and an apple tree. As well as a shed, summerhouse, gazebo and (thanks to the good Lady) enough solar lights to put Blackpool prom to shame !

Most of the ones I see look like they're going to keel over at any second ! All red in the face, huffing and puffing - I thought it was mean from be good for you ! My doctor told me I should take up something that's not too exerting, but got me mildly out of breath on a regular basis.............so I started smoking again !

I just turned 55, and I'm definitely on the downward slope of life........ I'm 6ft and 15 stone. I've got heart disease and arthritis in my knees and hands, but I'll never give in ! I've played both forms of rugby, boxing, kickboxing and finally gave up Muay Thai at 35. I think that how strong your mind is matters more than whether your body is failing (because they all do, in the end !). I know a young fella who is constantly ribbing me about being old, worn out and washed up - I tell him " I might be old and slow, but if I catch you, you're in f***ing trouble !"

I've only ever had the odd one here and there. What I usually do is ask them to hang on (there's someone at the door, something burning on the cooker etc).............then just go back to what I was doing. Go back after 30 minutes or so, and they've usually hung up - which is very rude, if you ask me !

Last night's docu featured several "community leaders", who described the Chicago murder rate as "State sponsored killings"...........! The lack of jobs, poor educational achievement, limited ambition etc are (they claim) a direct result of government policies, aimed directly at undermining the black community, to keep them subjugated and 'in their place' ! It seems, to me, that that type of 'leader' spends so much time trying to make black people into victims.........while they ignore the fact that ideas like theirs are actually part of the problem !

Bit of a tangent, but I watched a documentary late last night that threw up a couple of stats that pricked my ears up - "Life and death in Chicago"........a city plagued by gun violence, to the extent that someone is shot every 2 hours , on average. Of those, 2 or 3 will be fatally wounded. But here's the thing...........Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the US. There are no gun shops in the city - none whatsoever ! Restricted gun ownership = lower gun deaths........not in Chicago, apparently !

The good lady BB has a 3 kilo Chihuahua that goes f***ing nuts if anyone touches her. (Mind you, we've been married nearly 20 years so the touching's not really an issue..........) Just glad she didn't choose a Rottie !

We used to leave the door open, and the heat from the extension kept the whole house warm ! F***ing neighbour grassed me up ! Some surveyor-type jobsworth came round from the council - "safety rules, need permission, duty of care" blah, blah. "How can we know it's safe, for start ?" he said - "Because I'm not dead and my dogs have slept in here for two months with it burning" isn't an acceptable answer, apparently ! Why can't people mind their own business these days ?
