Types Of Guard Dogs For Ur Yard .ie. Kennells And House.
morton replied to stonewall's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I don't think it's been tested in court yet but in theory even with the changes to the DDA you should be fine if they were on your property unlawfully. Of course never say your dog is a guard dog, it's just a pet that lives in the yard I'd think really carefully before getting a dog to guard dogs, if your dogs get out of the kennel will they try and fight the guard or vice versa? I used to keep bandogs to guard my bulldogs until one of my bulldogs got loose and decided he wanted to take on two 110lb bandogs came home to one very dead dog and two banged up bandogs. I personally won't use dogs -
Its not all shit and is convenient at times,i prefer a dog raised and entered on barf.Dry is the mainstay of many a kennel, kennels that see an awful lot of graft.I still prefer barf and believe a mutt fares better on it,dry works for many and my mutts did ok on Greyhound racer when it was a convenience.

Lakeland , Patterdale And White Lakelands
morton replied to Walker21's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
White lakelands had no Russel in the mix,the nearest thing to a Patterdale is a black and tan terrier. -

Did your heart skip a beat when you crossed the border into gods country Mik,it begins with an E.I believe me and my lad did over 500 miles on 2 bold tyres at 90 miles an hour for much of it,i did,nt know the tyres were bold until a few days later, the prat. They will be useful mutts if you travelled to England for them Mik ,the Scottish lineage may play a small part .Id wish you good luck,we both know luck comes a piss poor 3rd to breeding.

Let My Inexperience Be A Warning To Others.
morton replied to Justin Glover's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I applaud your honesty mucker. The best of intentions are often lost on some dogs, many a mutt is better off culled, for the dogs sake and a prospective owner.Ill warrant you could have chosen 20 dogs from a rescue and made a useful enough mutt out of 19 of them.Try again, dogs need honest homes. -
A thorough cleanse and a few staples,job done,about £3.

I walked the land with a mate, many years ago when i still had 1,my mutt always caught far more than his,he had the better dog, mine was fitter.

That's why they all sat in kennels whilst folk on here lollol you spot on tho, the grass is always greener and all that haha, thing with me is the job I expect a lurcher to do, most or any type can do, so I don't get too hung on types or crosses tbh It comes as a surprise to some when they realise what an average lurcher is capable of,an average lurcher is often far more capable than its average owner.Yet at times average don,t do.

Build an aviary with an open wired front,South facing, wooden sides and back, perspex roof,in colder times clad the front with perspex and the occupants will be fine.Lovebirds shelter in nest box,s.Id go with painted conures or Kakariki,s.

IF you have never seen a very good Whippet in the field you may be called Stevie Wonder or just kennel blind, the facts are good-uns are fairly commonplace, really good-uns are a tad rarer and a very good Whippet is often a pale shadow of a lurcher.I like Whippets,i admire many of them and believe they hold a unique niche as an hunting companion,id like another because they are exciting to own and hunt,id not like another because they lack to much of what i seek in an hunting jukel.IF they suit they certainly suit, their niche.

Honest looking crew.

I remember trekking up the Dales with an early camcorder, spot of ferreting and wanting an home movie of the occasion,i remember the camcorder being bigger and heavier than the days catch, plus my ability with it made it a wasted exercise. It would be interesting for a few on here if you maybe started a fresh post JD with a tilt at educating a few of us neanderthals in the art of action shots etc.

Ive usually a Lakey in the kennel and i expect them to bush and thrash about on top,as well as graft below.I find lakeys lacking in agility and to focused at a kill or a mark, when you wish to call the mutt away from a mark or off a catch a lakey can often be far to driven and focused, they are easy to enter and often difficult to educate to the way you hunt, its often their way.Ill never be without one and find comfort in the Beddy,s,yet a lakey keeps it real at times.

The sad reality of many a working mutts life is the fact that they are often in such a kennel,i know your post was only in jest KR yet many a member on here will have exactly that outlook.

Its interesting to note the amount of folk that are considering a smaller type lurcher for their next mutt,i wonder how much of that is down to an age factor or because of the ban?.Im getting to an age now that id consider a smaller bred type to be a better option in the field, northern,s posts and his mutts make me realise that smaller can often be as,or more, rewarding than the type im accustomed to over the last few decades. Some of my earlier hunting was with the type he has and their was much more pleasure and far less stress in those youthful forays, perhaps the tide is a turning and its tim

When my work commitments meant for an early start i only had the mutts out for about 10 minutes early doors. After work was when i concentrated on giving them their main exercise.Summer was a blessing to still be able to exercise them in light and comfort, yet the darker wintry nights i found that their exercise was often part of a nights lamping etc.Im amazed at the effort many put into their charges come work, rain or shine, proper dog folk.

Smart looking countryside to educate a sapling in,i like to see a youngster getting out and about with a few older heads, good pics.

"Us Irish"i fecking hell sweetcheeks put the poteen away,re-read my post you thick twat, notice i did,nt stereotype.

Ill warrant a few will be thankful they recognised their lack of hunting etiquette as ignorant youngsters and hunt better now because of it.Many an hunter now as learnt from his or her ignorance and stupidity.I don,t believe 6 months is an harsh enough sentence for the nuggets,5 years is 4 years to long.
-
What makes you think that Terriers did their job,the nuggets that owned them did,nt.Many on here sing from a common hymn sheet that puts into chorus that there is no place in the field for a camera, especially now.The feckwits that hunt like these nuggets hunted are not in a minority folk, sadly.I deplore any form of hunting that causes UNNECESSARY suffering. Many have been young and dumb and hunted in a way that they find despicable now, fact. These lads have lost their liberty because of crass stupidity and cruelty and 6 months is a long time for them to reflect upon it.I hope they never own
