For edible game they would do you right. Mine lamp, bush, ferret and are not too bad at working the hills. I don’t think it’s down to the breed because I’ve seen a few types do the same type of work.
All depends if you get on with saluki type dogs. Most things crossed with 3/4 greyhound should do ok on most things. Depends on the breeding and how you bring them on. Both my runners have saluki in them. My dog is 1/4 saluki x grew with about 1/8 collie. Bitch I’m not sure about percentages. Both totally different dogs to train and totally different out in the field. They do me though ?
He looks a cracking little thing. I think prices are going to stay hi. Saying that there are still plenty of decent dog people out there that will gift or sell for a sensible amount.
That’s the way I want to go in a few years. Couple of beagle x spaniel terrier types and couple of Lurchers. I’ve got enough ground for a couple of hounds but not the space at the house. ?
I thought the same. My old man works out there a lot and one of the places there is a pack of them. He speaks to the guy most mornings and he sent me some pictures. I asked if they were going on a boar hunt but the said no we are hunting rabbit. Trailer had about 15 dogs in. That’s how they do it. They all meet in a local bar later on in the day and have a decent craic.
I’m hoping to head over and have a look. My old man works out there now and then. He’s not really into his hunting but he sees The hunt meet on a morning. When he’s in the North it’s podenco and hound types that head out. When he’s in other areas then it’s coursing. He’s been to see a couple of events. He says they are a friendly enough bunch. ?
Reckon something will come up in the summer. I will be looking at similar cross in a few years. Something to range out a bit on the hills. Has foxpack not got a litter on the way?
