  1. Brilliant. I’d like to have a trip over there and do some canoeing in the summer months ?
  2. Looks like they had a decent day out ?
  3. Mine eat them however. If they have had a cold day I just leave them in warm water a bit and they woof them down. If not you might have to cut up smaller or mince
  4. I’m the same poxon. Nothing goes to waste. Hate seeing food go in the bin. Always drain the baking/roasting trays into the dog bowls. All table scraps go in too.
  5. Don’t worry about amounts at this stage. Feed as much as it will eat in a sitting
  6. Keep it simple. I have the book and there’s some decent info in the nutrition chapter. It’s a handy book for when the dogs get injured etc. All explained simply which is good for us Lurcher folk! Mine are on raw but rarely mince it. For young dogs I would mince some stuff to get them started. Tips of chicken wings etc I find they can eat no bother. Tins of sardines are spot on. You can complicate things. I know I did when I first started. Get to your local butcher and ask for off cuts and any carcass. They might help out. There’s some decent info in the barf section on here. Don’t encourage fu
  7. Good news. Should make great little dogs
  8. Thought I’d found myself a new pal when he landed on my arm. Found out the next day that he’s a local celebrity and has his own Facebook page! He pops in from time to time.
  9. That’s the problem I’m having. Most don’t know what a ferret or a Lurcher is. If they ain’t making money from it they ain’t interested ?
  10. Great dogs to have for close up bushing. Wouldn’t be without one now. Lurchers get to see a lot more on our walks out.
  11. I’ve been passing a couple of days a week and having a look. Great painting but it’s on a very popular road and first thing I thought is some anti will try ruin it ?.
  12. Both cracking looking dogs. That Fawn one is an absolute belter ??
  13. That’s my idea of a decent day out. Keep the updates coming ?
  14. Had a cracking day. Good to be getting back out again. Try head out weekend after next when I have the boys ?
  15. The dam to my older dog was full saluki to a 1/2 collie grey. She was a good rabbiting dog and looked a bit like a leggy collie. The lad put a well bred working grew over her. Brought the size up a bit and produced a tidy litter. As said, depends what you want them for.
  16. Spot on D. Great weather for it
  17. Yeah I only run the one spaniel terrier. The Lurchers hunt not too bad. Mainly got them to lamp but like getting on the hill more these days. Be good to get out with dogs that hill work is their main thing. Cheers for the info.
  18. Yeah. Even run a Lurcher show for them as a fund raiser and to get to know a few folk in the area. Never got so much as a thanks! I’m just looking to get out with someone local who has a couple of hill dogs and a small foot pack. ?
  19. Yep been asking about mate. I’m new to the area so not rally in with anyone here. Had a few decent invites but nothing locally. ?
  20. I haven’t followed any but would like to get out with a foot pack. I’m south west based mainly but travelling doesn’t bother me. I’ve watched a couple of packs on Dartmoor and Exmoor but from afar. Introduced myself to the local hound group near me but didn’t really get anywhere. Put a post up on here a while ago to see if there is anyone in this area. I spend a lot of time on the moors with 2 Lurchers and my busher. Had some invites off a couple of lads on here further a field and I’ll definitely be taking them up on their offer. ?
  21. Spot on FP. Funny how we make life long mates in the dog game!
