Good strong jukels,..just right...

Well,..I am only a part timer these days,..but when I was at the rabbits day and night,..the ferrets were an incredable earner for me. I think anyone who does a fair bit of rabbit work (or is mad keen on their sport) will attest,..a good ferret realy is a treasure. We no longer keep ferrets at home,...it is a bit of a bugger having to collect them from another location,.but there ya go...That is life.... I always know when I've got a reliable team of workers in the courts,..when the cry goes out,.."What ferrets do you want to use in this warren Phil",..and my answer is,..."Use any of

A Painful First For Me ......
Phil Lloyd replied to socks's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
As Torchey so rightly said,..Hornets,.as a rule,.are usually fairly docile,..they are nowhere near as aware of your intentions as are some Wasps. There have been occasions where a colony of wasps have attacked me, almost before I have got suited up,...they seemed to know that I was on their case... These nests are always trouble.. I often wonder if the customer has had a go at them, prior to me turning up The tell tale signs, of insecticidal foam or spray running down the wall often give the game away..FFS ! The problem with Hornets is that they are a fabulous predatory insect,.top -

This is not the type of question, one might encounter in a job application form, for Tescos or McDonalds..... The question is obviously something that might be put to a member of the Military ,..SAS or similar special services. Although 100% hypothetical,...the premise is made to find out how one might behave, in a given situation... Personaly,...I feel that,..all things being equal,...the humane, quick and painless death of a single infant ,..an action that would,.. 'hypothetically'....save countless lives,.......realy is a no brainer.... We need certain men who are capable of maki

Can't see an old timer calling quits,.before he has to... Facts are,..the Law quite clearly uses the wording , intent,...and as 100% rabbiters,..us auld Mouchers are only after shushis,...so if a Hare (or whatever) gets itself accidentaly knabbed,..so fecking what.... Keep on walking,...cos if ya stop to sit down,..ya will never get back up....

An interesting and thought provoking thread... I have lived all over the UK,..but spent my formative years, amidst a large council housing estate on the South coast...Obviously,..as youth,..I ran with various groups of lads,...and we did get up to a few naughties... Whatever,....nobody ratted ,...it just wasn't done... The reason was not entirely a cultural one,.whereby you just don't let down your mates,.but purely a practical one... If you tell tales to the authorities,...they will invariably desert you when they have what they want,..and your actions will be obvious to anyone

Well,.it really is your call Sammy... Facts are, some dogs,..(for a variety of reasons),...lack enough prey drive, to make them suitable hunting partners...You can often gee a dog up, and get him to put a wee bit more effort into the task,.but nothing can replace,. what Mother Nature has left out.. Anyway,..best of luck ,.and if things don't work out,..try and find a nice quiet home for the wee jukel... Regards, Phil.

For the roustabout hunter,..the man keen on having a gentle stroll and a wander,..over various places ...this type of capabal and highly trainable lurcher, is a handy mouching pal... That is where they are seen in their best light,...hunting up during the early morning,..a quick in and out job.. Much of the history penned and passed on, regarding this useful cross, has come via tales and anecdotes jotted down in books or chatted over around the lurcher show ring... However,.I have been fortunate in walking out with a few Alsation / Greyhound hybrids, and as a dog for taking game

Hi Andrew,..well done on making yourself a few quid,...that is what it is all about.. I have been involved in the importation of thousands of traps from the States and Canada... Some of the traps needing tweeking and modifying, to allow them to fall in line with UK legislation. I tested, all the various types in the field and found some of them, to be less than humane. The original Mitling trap (WCS Tube trap) did not do what it said on the tin,..and required a stronger spring and a killing bar to effect a humane kill.... There has been a lot of work done to get these tra
