Lucas in his books mentions entering up to 18 terriers on a badger, so what, it's well documented that the legendary fell terriermen would enter up 5 terriers on a fox !!! Methods 100 years ago have no impression what so ever on todays terrier or terrierwork.

NOW, there's a guard dog. The only thing I don't like about them is that they look like a big teddy bear and someone innocently might approach one. They should have a public health warning hanging on a sign around their neck, LOL.

Poison also works very well for dog thieves (especially if you can shove it down the b*****ds throat)as they'll just chuck some to your guard dog . Not letting those who steal dogs know you have dogs combined with modern security is probably the best form of defense.

I had a fox trap set a few years back close to a couple of larsens so I put canned dog food in the fox trap too for handiness sake. I caught nothing but Hedgehogs which was a nuisance as they were springing the trap. I marked one hedgehog with a bit of lime one day and released him. It was the same Hedgehog I'd been catching all along. I ended up bringing him a couple of mile away and releasing him. There used to be an old country myth here in Ireland that the Fox killed a Hedgehog by pissing on him. When he opened up the Fox delivered the fatal bite. But IMO the Fox could kill one easil

Nice one Joe. That cub is sitting there looking at the sheep and saying to himself "in another few months I'll be big enough for you." LOL. I said a couple of months ago that I think there's going to be plenty of cubs around this year and it looks like I'm right. I was talking to a woman yesterday who's flock of hens has gone from over 40 to 15 in a couple of weeks. There's foxes even raiding her at 3 in the afternoon.
