What’s easier a daytime Rabbit or daytime Hare.

What I found, if like me my dogs have been lamping dogs, a d have plenty of rabbits and few hares. I don't mean just of the seat either, my big gsdx grey Buck, when caught couple rabbit hare got up 35 yds away, this fookin hare took him feilds away, got away and happy it did. Now what found in the day hares, my type dogs try to put a strike in quick, and in doing so will burn out, after couple mins, where a good hare dog, will hold back and strike when it's just right. To me dog with drop coursing blood in it will catch deff in day, and get good bag in night, and x that did see work was s -

I was born on a counsel estate 70 years ago, now most of the people had fook all, just roof over our heads, and just about food for a belly. Now most of the men worked some OK so crap jobs, but all payed taxes etc, my old man done 2 jobs a day to put food and clothes on our back, there was 5 kids. He never been the full ticket as he, if kept his head down, done his porridge, he been out years ago, but he couldn't could he, he tied to beat the system, and failed,. well mate, bring you right up to date, i had Hernia Op Feb 15th, at a private hospital , didnt cost me nothing , was done on the NHS, the doctor was good, nurses were brill, i had 2 nurses with me, i had my own room, telly, shower etc, they were great with my pain relief , infact ive got a worn cartilage , and god knows why it played up on that fookin day, i couldnt put me foot down me knee really hurt, the nurse were putting ice packs on it all day to get the swelling down , dont forget this was nothing to do with my hernia Op , they were just very caring nurses was only in for the

got me thinking about this post, regards sleep, or lack of it. m y wife norm goes before me, 11.30pm , me ive tried to get in bed 12pm, but i not dropping off till 12. 45 am , many a time ive said be up about 12 pm, but get on the fookin phone, and thats dragged me to 1am. i used to sleep well when i been lamping that night, say out 1am lamp till 4 30 am, back home feed the dog, then off to bed, and i deff get good 8 hours , i think was prob tired either been chased lol, or dragged something big for me freezer . i dont lamp like that no more to old now. my wife sleep good 9- 10 hours, i fi

get him out with a pushbike , you build up stamina, than after couple weeks ,go from riding trot, to flat out gallop , in month time he be faster and fitter deff. be careful though, i took my big gsd x grey out with the bike, and a rabbit in the next field started to fookin run, this thick prat seen the movement , he took me right of the bike into the ditch/ edge , when they get fit stop the bike, and keep out lamping then.

She coming on nice and steady, nice looking lurcher, the cover thing, both my 1xs that's old Bryn and Buck go in cover, she be the same, herding xs are all the same , they got good coats, and great nose for finding stuff. How she bred again, she 2x line bred collie x grey.? Think that's right ?

It gets your back up reading this, how the fookin police target lurcher people, just for catching few rabbits. OK they got no permission, but nothing new, as 90 % of land owners don't want running dogs on there land, it was the same 40 years ago nothing changed. It very difficult to get legal permission. Lamping getting the same day walking, put a lamp on every fooker comes after you. The last nail in the coffin was hunting ban with dogs, it over now, because it not so much a fine, they take your dogs off you, and if your done few times for poaching, you get send down as well 12-18 months..

a nice post this, old bryn my 1x collie x grey , could still knock few over at 10 year old, he died at 14 , but being honest from 8month old - 10 year old , he made catching day/ night easy .Same as big Buck took to lamping dead quick, rabbits easy more so how big he was , charlie the same and and big things, he 10 now, lost some pace but i carnt complain , because he gave me some great 8 years lamping , big dogs slow up bit quicker than smaller dogs. enjoy your old dog mate while you still got him .

it really looks that way, he keep saying he fighting man from fight background , well fight usyk then, he have 6 in extra height 3 stone heavier , he said he flatten the middleweight , well feckin proof it April 29th if he dont fight him, he knows he prob loose

well done, dogs did well, i had many nights feckin soaked to the skin, what we did, was just get your mind set right, once your wet ignore it, most of our lamping was on foot, only felt rough whe we finished and had to drive home in wet clothes , that got to me then lol but had 35 years at the lamping game good/ bad times. ps my last 2 lurchers got great coats, they didnt feel the cold or wet , collies and gsds have great winter coats .

Thanks Dave, sore now, just resting, the bloke walking Buck. with the pat bitch, doing good job, I need about a week rest, then try walk him, times like this having dogs more big dog, is difficult, you need good people around you. ?
