True, it like every thing with lurchers, I only go on my own dog, what he as done in his 10 years I've had him. He was great lamping dog, so was his litter sister, they were very full on dogs when young, he could be bit reckless when after his quarry, he had few bangs/bumps, but could handle it, very tough type lurcher. He came from good stock, his dam had German working lines E/E fit healthy animal, his sire was Razzmatzz the mid distance greyhound, bred by Max of here, 2 very good dogs. Regards HD poor hips, I was told by 2 vets that if did get HD, it wouldn't be as bad as pure gsd as he
-
yeh, the gsd x grey good mix, great at lamping, and like said good in the day, brill nose finding stuff. a lad i know runs a bel mal x deerhound x grey bitch, very good lamping dog run all night. ive always said that the gsd x and the bel mal x are deff a step from the norm collie x grey lurcher, having had 3 collie xs greys before , thats what ive found .!
-
nice pics, the young lad did well, dogs look good, you wont beat a spaniel for mooching knocking stuff out, mind you ive been lucky with last 2 lurchers , a gsd x grey , and had collie x grey, both had great nose, and my big dog will go in cover if there game in there, my old lurcher when alive would hang back and wait for a bolt clever bugger lol. get you lad some gloves, i know they dont feel the cold when young, my grand kids never do, but i keep a pair just incase , keep them happy as they say .
-
no pups from him, but like you say your not going to the same as him even if he bred from him. i think it was having it just right % gsd in him that it worked very well, the greyhound came out just right. he had fare pace , and good stamina , spot on for long night lamping. i dont lamp like used to, to old now, but i am really happy to finish like have done with him . what ever i get when he gone will only be a pet now, i will always have lurcher about me, they make great pets good loyal animals .
-
He 10 now mate, what I liked about him is, he fill your freezer, and spin few Charlie's over nif bump into them. He was really bred as lamp dog. Which he done well, the gsd in him gives good nose for mooching in the day, but many a time he caught stuff out the beam, he retrieve fox back to me, just like he would bring back a rabbit lol, bloody shame they get old trunk.
-
Brill them trunk, always liked your dogs and posts. Always liked a dog to handle a Charlie, done lamping for 35 years, nice now to just have mooch about with my big old dog, had some great nights with when he was younger, keep up the good work trunk.

Had nice walk this. Morning, cold but soon got warm. Buck had few munjack from here and the odd fox, if look at 1st pic he deff seen somthing, he had mooch over there, after the pic, even little woody had good smell about. Lol. Didn't see anybody, which is great don't want anything getting up with people looking. Dint see nothing but dogs and me self had nice walk on crisp cold morning.

looks bit like a boerbol , both breeds are top guard dogs, look the part, and quite vocal for the big breeds .
-
hope you get a nice pup out of it, whippet are deff good rabbit dogs, i had nice none ped racing whippet bitch 20 in 20 lb, fast , caught few rabbits nice little bitch, some of the males at the track hit 22in 32 lb strong little dogs that pile into foxes if yo let them lol. over in UK England we get some cold wet weather , so the whippet here can find it hard at times with our weather, that where the old lurcher job comes in, bit of beddy or drop of wheaten in a whippet x lurcher to giv bit of a better coat and bit of bone, they still knock over rabbits easy, nothing touch pure whippet of

well lets move on now, we got 4 years to, get a new manger and better players, you carnt just blame one man= kane , ok he missed , but even if we gone extra time etc, i still think the frogs had found the net, like been said before once we had to really step up our game against a very good side, we couldn't do it . so lets rebuild for the world cup etc . i just come out from hospital for glaucoma surgery , me eye very sore , still watched the match with pain, but always thought it be to much for our lads, maybe nex time new manger new players .
-
like you said earlier quick in the balls, put most people down. what i will say from experience of doing karate for 3 years, is that good old boxing training a better defense to use . i got knocked on my arse few times when fighting free style in the class, you fight 1st and 2nd dans alot of times . ok they tyr to keep you at bay, to stop you getting punches in in, but i am near 6ft tall and back then was agile and fast and strong, and my 13 st deff rocked a few . one fookin 2nd dan was big bully , giving me all macho crap dont look at my belt. well feckin didnt i puched him full force in

here one for you, i not diabetic been testes quite few times and always ok . But some times if done jobs in my garden for 3-4 hours or when i was younger been lamping etc, i get very tired , and sleepy , got in the house had couple bars of choc and choc biscuits , and was ok then, doctor said my sugar levels had gone right down from exercise i one, even now at 70, when cut me lawns, i can feel it coming on, just have some choc biscuits and i be fine .

dog outside in kennel, with good heat lamp, he comes next morning, nice fresh with little bounce . when i lamped him few night a week, when he was younger, i go over all his back shoulders, and check his feet, then feed him nice big dinner, then heat lamp on, it lets the dog stretch out, stop them rolling up in a ball shape, it that makes the lame, if they had lot of hard runs in the night, many time Buck have 2-3 hours lamping, with long hard runs. maybe i might have had little beddyx whippet type lurcher in the house little dog, but most of my dogs have been big dogs 25 - 28in 60 - 88lb ,
-
ok paul, where walshie = dave this days , hope he ok and mrs , as still got his ridgeback ?
-
Hope she OK, you did well carrying her back a mile on your shoulder deff, I had 75lb bullx grey, had to carry back to my car one night only 7 feilds away, that fooked me. Lol

Great do lads, good dogs, and good company, carnt get any better??
-
on the money mate, i really hope fury and uysk get it on next year, and we can have one champion, i still think uysk will beat him, just look at his record, ok at cruiser, but he stepped to heavy no prob . from what i read uysk wants the before march, in his homeland , because of his religious faith , if fury really wants them belts he fight him, but he wont ??
-
when you think about it in simple terms,Uysk got the 3 belts, fury got the 1, fury keep saying he fighting man etc, and he beat uysk eSY, WELL BACK YOUR MOUTH Fury, but no he wont? its a fooken joke this heavyweight shit, you got a bloke 6ft 9in 19 st, scared to fight a 6ft 3in 15 st 7 lb bloke , you think fury jump at the fight.Uysk said he wants to fight Fury march 4th 2023, i think if fury wont fight that time next year, well he should give up his belt, and retire proper, let some young hungry heavyweights come through and let them have a go .
-
no, not with people , but we had a big male 19 in 50lb , that once locked on to a great dane x type thing , this dane thing came charging over to our dog, our dog hit him behind his front leg, by his chest, my old man new how brake him off, he always had small type stick with him, even in our garden . this was about 1962 , i was 10 year old then , but once you seen what these type dogs can do in few seconds , that dane leg was a mess , so a small child got no chance , even full grown man would be in trouble the speed/ power , and grit in them you be fooked, like been said over and over
-
100 % mate, your right a proper full on apbt, takes some feckin stopping , ive said on here before we kept fit line of staffs in the 60s, more like apbts of today ours were 16 - 19in 40- 55 lb very strong dogs, so well bred pit be in a different league , be more a full on dog, i had bitch 20in 60lb good temp , but all our bull terriers were kept outside in kennel/ runs , there not house pets, there performance animals , like all working dogs.
-
thats fair point mate.
-
well, ive had me booster/ flu jab , i am ok no prob. i was 70 in august , ok got things wrong with me, bad back, gut probs Ibad gut cramps, but my overall health , i still strong/fit. now last year i had real bad chest, was out of breath etc, said to my wife i must have covid, had 3 tests all clear, went to doctor he said i had winter virus, it took me near 3 months to feel right, i fit now, but i know a bloke 10 year younger than me, he had similar took him full 3 months to get right, now this aint covid , but i reckon it been feckin worse if it had been covid .
-
spot on , mate, its a hard life for a working lurcher, sometimes a short one , if there a full on type lurcher . sorry about your pup .
-
dont know regards as a lurcher x, but my brother had 2 males ebt at different times, and both were thick, compered to a staff, or apbt, most pitx greys, or lurchers with pit in them, ive found easier to train, my old 1/4 pit 3/4 grey would bring back rabbits etc, but full on for other stuff, i like drop of pit in a lurcher, but Buck 1x gsd x grey tops the lot, when it comes to brain/ power .
