  1. Do you remember the eejit on PW some years ago, who told us the tale of shooting a fox at 700yds with his .22 Hornet. He had used all of his field-craft to work his way in from 1000yds as he didn't want to miss the shot apparently. G Yep, but I seem to remember it was a HMR, anyway, I'm getting old so your memory is probably better then mine. Just off out now myself for the bunny and fox, not too late I hope tonight, fox has been turning up just after dark for the last few nights.
  2. Which mod off which rifle and how many shots have been through it? Normally an overnight soak in washing up liquid will soften enough to clean, or of course solvents, but if it is seriously well burnt on you may have to get serious to clean it?
  3. FFS! What is wrong with the world? Get a life!
  4. You could leave a card if nobody is in along the lines of........ I called today to see if you have any Pest Control issues, if so please contact Deker who will be happy to give a free quote! Thank you.
  5. How do you find the nitro mors gets on with the chequering, how do you clear that? Does it just lift or do you need to brush/whatever? Cheers PS Looks good so far!
  6. I have to get mine disposed of, that generally means incinerated, but fortunately I have free use of several sites. (contra deals) Not much other than maggots eats the fox in my experience, unless they are desperate, whilst a whole deer carcase can disappear in a week, and rabbits overnight, foxes can often linger!
  7. Hello Deker, haven't seen you for a while. Yes you are more than correct, and as Birmingham is now being described as the "Gun crime capital of Britain", it just goes to prove it. But then again when you have an establishment that finds it impossible to differentiate between sporting shooters and black-on-black murderers............................... G It went through my mind, is that the Graham M I remember?
  8. I seem to recall my old Longbow around 40 years ago could turn the arrow into a little over 40 ft lb, and that was nothing special even then.
  9. rib eye, or fillet, medium rare......... Tart!
  10. Hungerford and Dunblane were tragic events, lets not take anything away from that, but the kneejerk reactions after both, have done little or nothing to stop gun crime in my opinion. Sad days on many fronts!
  11. Rump Steak, Chips and Tomato Ketchup!
  12. I had the long haired version many years back, would run all day and tough as boots, and very loyal/protective!

It has seemed like that to me for a long time! I'm also deeply offended by being called a Pommie by the Aussies, but as yet I don't see the court case or my compensation!
  14. Thanks bird and slip lead. I may well have to consider others but I have got used to these, they are light, I can feel the trigger and they are warm, shower proof perhaps, but certainly not water proof, oh yes, and cheap! These are what I'm really after, but if that fails another make will have to be considered! Cheers
  15. All credit to the dog and particularly those that trained her.

I don't know the specifics, just the reported situation, but I think Political Correctness has gone way to far!
  17. I need the THL collective help in tracking some down please. My trusty pair that have served me well over many years have reached end of life, primarily because I have just lost one. They look like this and are apparently Stormkloth ART # :301 Size L. These are both the same glove taken under different light, cant get it right, the grey looking parts are actually dark green. I can't find them anywhere, I have contacted Stormkloth but no reply as yet. The closest I have seen is these HSF which seem ok but they are too light, much lighter than seems evident in pic. Can
  18. There are an awful lot of factors to consider at that distance, the human being probably being the biggest issue. As you can see, a good team and equipment, and many shots to achieve the objective! 1200 Yards is the furthest I've shot, 1000 I do every year and usually a handful of 500 and 600 yard as well, this is all at the range of course and just for fun. I rarely have to go further than 200 yards in the field, and would never consider some of these distances on anything live! ATB!
  19. If you are in legal possession of phostoxin, and trained then you should know the answer, if not, then should not be using or storing That went through my mind as well, it isn't easy these days to get hold of or store Phoxtoxin or Talunex (aluminium phosphide) LEGALLY, and training/qualification is required. Perhaps best to still ask regardless than just charge in!
  20. Are you looking for a one off or continuous use? Get one a reasonable size whatever, but be careful as some are enormous, and if its a one off job, save your money and get a cheap one, then chuck it, because the fox has a tendency to bend metal!
  21. Seems to be a lottery, some don't care, others use any excuse to hike premiums. Only your insurance co can tell you. You need to declare or risk insurance cancellation in the event of a claim. Good luck.
  22. You must be smoking some proper strong shit.to think about all that shit kanny. can't claim credit its a copy n paste No Shit! (sorry, I'll get my coat!)
