  1. Every emotion you can think of so far, and it will soon become chip paper, but It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they had a meeting in a dark alley somewhere in due course.
  2. Thanks for the replies, I'm working on a fix, will keep you up to speed! Cheers
  3. Getting about and doing the job are always good ways to get more land. I get a lot of work that way, to the extend I control big chunks via numerous landowners! That also makes the control job a lot easier!
  4. Most .22lr (and most other rimfires) will likely outlive their owners. Centrefires are a different matter!
  5. .22LR Great calibre and incredibly versatile!
  6. Never had this issue before, the shoulder pad has degraded, it's gone soft/sticky/rough/brittle all at the same time, you can just pull chunks off it. Anyone had this problem? Where did you get replacement pad from please? Cheers
  7. It was a simple question, no need to get all excited!
  8. There are not many Remington .17 users because it has limited uses, is expensive to run and has very little choice of factory ammo. What drew you to the .17? Compared to what Deker mate.. the beauty of this calibre is that I can shoot in almost any direction with little fear of richochet and the myths about barrel burning and no good in the wind are statements mainly by people who have never shot one. Your right about the ammo though but that's the suppliers fault it's a calibre that's not flavour of the month so they don't import it. I've often wondered why people went out and bough
  9. What is this really all about, the world has gone mad!

  11. North Wales don't have a choice if a FAC owner from another region turns up with a FAC conditioned for fox on HMR! He can shoot fox with it in N Wales!
  12. Your FAC is legal for any area of England, Wales and Scotland. (not sure about NI) You can shoot whatever your FAC says in any of these areas, if your FAC says fox, AOLQ, etc., and you go to another Police region then they cannot change what your FAC says. North wales may or may not allow fox with a HMR, tuff, your area does and have conditioned your FAC for that, other areas don't have a say in that and cannot change the terms of your FAC if you cross a regional boundary. I had this issue some years back with a pal in one of the Yorkshire regions, which, at the time refused point
  13. Well, I have had many more with Hornady. This goes round and round and as I have said many times should be pinned. ALL HMR ammo "makes" are effected, there may be odd batch situations where some may be better or worse, but there is NO CURE for splitting cases with todays technology, end of.
  14. This was my reply from CCI when I asked them if they made all the HMR! > From: cciexpert@ATK.com > To: > Subject: RE: CCI Ammo - Ask the Expert Form > Date: Tue, 29 Oct 2013 17:37:40 +0000 > > Deker, we don't make Winchester 17HMR ammunition and there may others. > > > > > > Make Every Shot Count! > Justin M. > CCI/Speer > 2299 Snake River Ave > Lewiston, ID. 83501
  15. I still have odd bits but use 17g V-Max types exclusively now, and have done for ages. As far as I'm aware at the moment, CCI makes all the HMR except for Winchester, that's what CCI told me a while back.
  16. You can buy the parts to reduce the size and weight of them to the Compact version, that's all you need on a .223, actually I run the Compacts on all mine now, .223, .243, and .308.
  17. Correct, if you simply got another battery the same, and used two, you would extend the running time, no increase in light output.
  18. There is nothing new here, but it may be marginally more important at "normal" air rifle distances, rather than rimfire of centrefire distances. The difference at scope or muzzle for most will be very small, and nobody should rely on any charts anyway, they are just a ROUGH guide for most!
  19. Here's the P8 models available. http://www.wildcatrifles.co.uk/complete-moderators.html I'm not sure if this is true of all Howas, but mine and my son's have a picatinny rail to mount the scope on. Now I think about it more doesn't the Howa have the same mount/fixings as the Remington, that should give you a fair few options!
  20. Yep 1000, bit outside air rifles but it shows what can be done. This is what it looks like... 20140830_135034a.jpg Centre of picture enlarged to show targets, grainy sadly, but it is a long way! 20140830_135034crop.jpg I don't know.......38 mildot holdover and a good 150 yards left judging by the way the flags are blowing, you may get close. The rifle is zeroed for 1000 yards, so no worries there, but interestingly with the .308 ammo used on that occasion I seem to recall the bullet arc was well over 30ft high at it highest point. At that distance bullets don't go s
