  1. The problem with age is that it is simply a number! As you point out a 17 year old was apparently not very mature, but on the reverse a 15 year old may be VERY mature for their age! The specifics of this particular case is something most here only know about through the media. Whatever anyone feels about the footballer, we would not be debating this if she had been a little older, so what makes it fine at 16 when you yourself say 17 was immature? Some seem to think at 15years 364 days he is a disgusting ****** who should have his balls removed, whilst a day later its fine.
  2. One of my short lived mistakes, thought it would be useful to have one knocking about but I was wrong. This is the spring version and goes back around 6 years, no idea about gas ram version.
  3. The 270 is the most aggressive and noisy of the 3 to shoot, I'm not a fan personally but there are those that rate it. I run a .243 which is a pussycat to shoot and a .308 700SPS which is remarkably gentle to shoot, especially so in comparison with a friends CZ 308! I have no need or desire for a 270, but like I say some rate them. PRVI ammo for 270 and 308 is similar price although a lot more choice in 308. Its easy to say and always harder to achieve, but try shooting them first, maybe a club, or a word here to see if someone can help!
  4. jok Did someone buy to a spade for Christmas, because its time you stopped digging!
  5. Not something I try for very often but now and again the Thames delivers a cracker, but my biggest is still from a country park lake, when I was after pike! Great fish the Perch, and there's nothing wrong with that one!
  6. I'm not making a specific comment about the "offence", but simply pointing out a Crayfish licence and tags are FREE, you just need to fill out the paperwork and send it off.
  7. Fortunately my 700SPS .308 likes the PRVI to!
  8. If only you were a bit closer....... and it was a .22! Sorry, I'll get my coat!
  9. I really got my .308 for Boar (and a bit of target), I don't have any issue with any UK deer with my .243, but frankly the .308 is damn good for the Boar and delivers better stopping, many also rate it as a top deer calibre. So, one gun answer, .308!
  10. I've seen something along these lines before and it was surprising just how mush quicker the F1 was then, so it was no surprise. But a good watch just the same!
  11. After a belt or 2 with the firing pin the percussion cap on spent cases is wasted, so they don't do the same job. I still don't think you need snap caps anyway so it doesn't really matter!
  12. Early days I used them, haven't for donkeys, no need in my book!
  13. Not sure he's mad, but I see him as very dangerous!
  14. He lived on the banks of the Thames in Wargrave, he was a well known character in the area along with wife Debbie and we saw them many a time in their garden over the years as we passed in my boat. Anyones passing is sad.
  15. As far as I'm aware the basic 452 is still made, no doubt simply until they have used up the parts, but the 453 has passed into history. (someone will correct me on that if I have it wrong) The 453 was a short lived version, and the 455 came along pretty quick, there was never a 454 as far as I'm aware There will of course still be a few NEW 452 and 453 around the country if you can find them.
  16. You don't want the book price, you want a replacement (Forecourt) price. You are not trading it in, you need insurance to cover the cost of an equivalent replacement!
  17. The 453 has a single set trigger, if that's what you want then fine, but that came and went pretty quick. As for premium, well, do you want to use it, or preserve it as an heirloom? As always its down to personal choice, and personally I would get a 452 or a 455 and forget any 453! ATB!
  18. Happened to her indoors last August. A Drunk T Boned her, car a write off. The car was sorted in about a month, but the injury side (relatively minor) is still ongoing with no immediate end in sight!
  19. I have to say that deer does indeed look a fine specimen, particularly for the time of year!
  20. Indeed... the DSC is a set course with only minor deviations and different locations/instructors.
  21. There are plenty of pike in the Thames, and some good ones, but they keep eluding me. Last Spring I had a diver out to clean the underside of my boat and he told me of whole families living under my landing stage, no monsters but plenty about! ATB!
  22. Good luck to you Mr Darcy. I have had a few, although nothing to shout about, but I'm looking for my first out of the Thames this year. If that happens I will be shouting, even if its tiny!
  23. Well interesting to watch that!
