  1. HAD A CRACKING NIGHT OUT JEFF but im a bit worse for wear for it to day mate and it was fecking cold at the range to day lol atvbmac  Nothing beats fresh air and a springer for a hangover
  2. Sorry to hear that Phil. Hope it doesn't last too long mate.
  3. That's quite a difference Si. Was that 2 consecutive shots?
  4. An HW30 is a nice little, well made junior springer. Some places sell them as a kit with a pretty decent little 4x32 Weihrauch scope for less than £200. They'll usually produce around 6-7ftlb depending on calibre. However, at 8yrs old, he might still struggle with cocking it. If you want something a lot easier to kick start his interest - my daughters first rifle (when she was 9) was an SMK xs501. It's a lightweight, bolt action, single shot, Co2 rifle. These are less than £150 (rifle only). But, they can be prone to leaks from the end cap seal where the Co2 bulbs go in.
  5. Jesus Rick, that's a big ol' rat I've shot a few lately but none were that big. Next time you're out, make sure one doesn't walk up behind you and tap you on the shoulder
  6. Backwards shit hole. She needs to be rescued, that government needs to be slapped down and the rapists need to be hung.
  7. You'll do alright mate. As I'm sure you already know - practice makes perfect Just remember the 5 Ps and you won't go wrong
  8. I grew up with cats Phil We had one really big fecker called sooty. I loved that cat, he was such a character - he used to deliberately torment the local dogs. He once came home pecked to f**k, dragging an enormous dead seagull. I was absolutely gutted when he died. That was while I was younger and still living at home. We own dogs now and, I wouldn't be without them. They're not better than sooty, just different Give one a go mate - I don't think you'll regret it. They're a fantastic companion Either way, good luck and atb.
  9. It's a nice looking little catty and, I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship that's gone into it but, if you don't mind a very novice question - how the bloody hell do you use it? The aperture looks tiny.
  10. Don't let it put you off mate. In my minimal experience of Weihrauch springers (hw30s & hw97kt) they've been absolutely spot on
  11. Nice work Si and, that was a nice touch sorting something tasty for his missus ....... I really do need need to get some daytime hunting in.
  12. It's one of two things then!!It's A...gonna dive in B... going to bum another beaver Atb si Feckin top answer
  13. Never nice to to lose a pet mate. Especially one that you've known for almost two decades.
  14. I've never tried a 110 but, I did put a couple of mags through a Compatto at the RFD not long after they came out...... It was nice to use - it was accurate and cycled nicely. The grip felt very small and the front end flexed. I understand that the front end has now had a fix applied. Overall, a nice rifle for the price.
  15. There'll always be some dick head ready to abuse something - air rifles, knives, cars, fireworks, the list goes on. It's just that something with a trigger and a barrel being misused makes the news. Bad news sells. I've seen Davy instructing and working with a family (men, Women and kids) that came down to the club - they were there as part of a birthday event - they were trying Air rifle and archery. They had a really good good time. They even had a go with other with other club members rifles. It was a good friendly atmosphere. ....... the trouble is, stuff like this and
  16. Sounds like a fantastic day It's all down hill for your wallet from here Nelly ...... I reckon you'll be buying a springer soon
  17. Top man Charlie It's good to watch some that knows what they're doing.
  18. Yeah, Right. You might know them blokes, dont get me wrong and thats there thing. But you'd bang your pride and joy... an example as put, worth 2k in this case, in a 10 pound slip?! In reality, they may have more money then sense, or indeed, see the rifle as more as a tool, than something they've saved up for and cherish. I would also assume they wear tweed? x I wouldn't do it personally - I use Buffalo River Dominator and BSA tactical bags. They're not AIM money but they do give good protection I don't know anyone that wears tweed I used to get a lot of that mob coming
  19. To be honest mate, air rifle is going to feel like a toy after what you've been used to. However, accuracy is very important (assuming you're using .177), you're looking at a 4.5mm pellet traveling at just over 800 feet per second, hitting a very small target. There's no spray and pray - Air rifles are very different. You'll probably want to zero at 27 - 30 yrds as it's a smaller, more precise impact. You could do a lot worse than meeting up with Mac and Sean Have fun and Atb.
  20. You can't knock cheaper kit - that bag might do all right I know blokes with a cabinet full of rifles but, only one chepo bag for concealment when they go out - £2k kit in a £10 bag What's the important bit? I took loads of quarry in the early 90s with a £50 BSA Mercury Atb
