A Bit More Time With The Super 10.

Cheers guys. Mt RFD loves these and has a couple in .22 himself. When I bought it, he did say that good examples are becoming hard to get hold of. The serial number prefix 'DP' gives a date range of 1996-2008. I'll give BSA a shout to get something more specific. -
RED Mac ........ It's Red, not pink She does get her looks from her mum ........... and her temper She's a cracking little shot. She got her first kill last year - a rabbit on an open rugby pitch at around 40yrds - She was happy, walking back to the car, carrying it's legs

Mine wasn't like that mate. It's hard to say without looking at it but, I'd probably clean it out, polish the sear faces and use an oil to lubricate the mechanism. -

Apparently I've 'reached my quota of positive quotes for the day' so....... thank god the pigeon pics are back -
I know it's immature but, I damn near pissed myself at that hat drawing. I'm sat here now giggling thinking about it
-
That rifle will come good. I can already see an improvement from those pics. Like my old dad once told me - there's many a good tune played on an old fiddle Anyway, what's with the drawings???? Only a poxy circle??? Where's the pigeon drawings? And the drawings of blokes in a hat?

It's not necessarily a bad thing. A little extra grease can help to reduce noise and twang. Generally when sorting the innards, this is removed and, a moly grease (something like LT2) is applied sparingly. -
Cheers Nath... I've been fallowing yours and macs posts! You two make it look far too easy!! Atb si Ain't that the feckin truth

I did mate My TX is a .22 HC. It was lovely to shoot straight out of the box. To be honest, I only bought the TinBum kit because I got curious after reading what other people had done. I'm glad I did because I really like that quick shot time. The problem is, I got bitten by the bug and started toying with other bits For the last couple of months the only original bits inside mine are the steel tophat and guide. It's currently got a lightweight ally piston with a longer latch rod for the short stroke, a Vmach seal that's been left just a little tight, a delrin slip washer in -

A Bit More Time With The Super 10.
Jonjon79 replied to Jonjon79's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Then it was time for the recommended pellet - Defiant Ogive 16gn. These gave me an average of 568fps/11.50ftlb with a variance of 9fps. The first shot went slightly away to the left but, every shot after went where I was aiming. Yes they're slower than the RS but, they hit hard and, I'm happy with the consistency from this old rifle. Now, I just need to find somewhere that sells them so that I can properly lead the barrel and give them the proper trial that they deserve. -

Then I tried the Rangemaster Kaisers 14.6gn These gave me an average of 583fps/11.04ftlb with a variance of 17fps. I don't think I'll be ordering a tin of these any time soon. -

I'm enjoying this rifle more and more all the time. The HW100 was very good but, I'm now thinking that it may have just been a bit too slick and easy for my taste. I like carbine rifles and, this old mk2 .22 S10 has enough character and noise to keep me smiling. I recently swapped some pellet samples with Rabid. He recommend trying a certain pellet because they'd always worked well for him. He even threw in another type that I hadn't tried yet. Cheers Rob I did some 10 shot strings through the Combro today while aiming at a 27yrd target. I put some JSB RS (13.43gn) through fir -
You never know mate. I'd settle for self sufficient and confident
-
Definitely mate. The trouble is, I think that a lot of kids just haven't been shown any better. I've offered to take a couple of my daughters mates to the club - out in the woods and the fresh air for a few hours. They'd see squirrels, rabbits and pheasants but, their parents don't want them playing with nasty guns.
-
My thoughts exactly mate I don't ever remember seeing any women or kids at the club that I used to go to. The mix at Black Cat is better but, it'd always be nice to see more
