  1. Yes that's fine. If we see one more post complaining about posts not being approved, we will be sending our technical expert round to your house to smash your computer up. Fair one mate, please accept my deepest apologies No need to worry mate - Walshy flogged his aluminium mod bat in classifieds last year
  2. It is a tricky one for sure but, to be frank, how likely is it to be looked at? Those pigeons in the the trees 100yrds away in late afternoon are surely going to be the ones roosting and shitting in the barns after dark.
  3. For what it's worth, I've had a mate fire my .22 TX200hc past me at 25yrds with an HW silencer, an A&M Marksman silencer and the plenum insert - at that range it made bugger all difference. All of the shots were quiet but, the handling was better with just the plenum The TX Was running at 11.2 ftlb with FAPs.
  4. Cheers for the response JJ. I understand the corvid thing and songbirds etc. But to say pigeons shitting is a H&S risk or "to prevent disease" is a bit tenuous, don't you think? No, not really mate. They'll sit in trees and eat from berry bushes this time of year but, they'll still roost in barns and any other shelter. And, of course, they'll still poo. I know. I've seen the roof of my car. My point is everything craps, so surely that can't be the factor that makes the shooting legal. If it was, you would never need any other reason. ...... and my patio However, the Gen

I helped to wash it off the path outside a farm shop on one of my permissions last week.
  6. Where in the South West are you? I'm in Swindon. I may be able t help out if you shoot air rifle
  7. It's ok by me Walshie. Pigeons will keep dropping their faeces all year round so, can continue to cause a health risk. So when the trees are bare and they're easier to see, I'll keep putting them in the freezer. Also, Spring is only 3 - 4 months away so, I'm happy to control corvid and magpie numbers.
  8. Take the hits on your gloves and arms in the first round, let them tire themselves out a bit. Watch for their knees hitting yours, glove cuffs/fore arms, ebows, head, shoulder in the face. Learn to turn them as they come in. Wait for them to tire in the 2nd round. When they start breathing with their mouth open, pick them off relentlessly. You'll either hate it or you'll want more
  9. A friend gave me a rangefinder when I came back to shooting. I keep it in my pocket if I'm out shooting during the day - it does help me with some of the more awkward shots. I have heard that there is very little difference between golf and shooting rangefinders - apart from the cost
  10. I've never used a hide. I'll tuck into a hedge or use dips and rises in the land - any sort of natural concealment but, that's just because I prefer stalking.
  11. What about .20 and .25  Ooh good point .........A blue laminate 97 in .25 Maybe Santa will be kind

  15. Oh it had it's price mate, as they all do I don't think the old boy ever used it - there's not a knock or blemish anywhere But, you can bet your arse that it'll have a retro price when the missus asks what it cost

  17. Cheers guys, I'm well happy with it Famous last words but,I'm happy now I've got a .177 and a .22 in springer and pcp and, they all feel like they've got a bit of life to them I've never really been into it but, I'm thinking about using this to get into HFT as little 'un wants to
  18. I don't know what's worse - a shit rfd or, a shit hot rfd ....... at least I can tell the shit one's where to go The best one by an absolute country mile down this way is Wiltshire Shooting Centre in Devizes. Paul, Alistair and the rest of the guys have been bang on since the first time I walked through the door. I drive past 3 very close gun shops to get there. We've got to know each other and, it's a nice place to be. The only problem is, that bugger Paul seems to know exactly what I'm thinking - honestly, I shudder to think how many times I've been in there over the last couple of

  20. Given the choice, I'd have less migrants - a lot less. But, fair play to the lad ......The lefties have made sure that this country is on the verge of well and truly f****d - He's just exploiting what's around him and taking care of No.1. I say crack on
  21. It could well be some sort of big cat. The shape of the head, ears, shoulders and tail don't look much like an average moggy to me. But, it's not very easy to judge scale just from those bushes.
  22. He might have just been busy at work Mac ...... Give the lad a chance mate - he started off good with his first post
  23. I had a look at the grey laminate version in the rfd today - f**k me that was nice thumbs:
  24. I use Sportsmatch ones Phil I use them on springers and pcps, they've never let me down yet. They're not particularly light but, there is more metal in a one piece.
  25. That's a pisser ........ feckin' HMRC! I'll keep my fingers crossed that something comes your way by spring
