  1. Yeah, I'll second that - Nice work Tom I'm enjoying these updates. It'll be good to see a chrono string when you're done mate.
  2. That's just common sense mate, but unfortunately it ain't all that common these days, surely people would realise if they had a brain there's a reason why the population has died down, and until that's sorted there never will be any rabbits in huge numbers The airgun lads are the worst for it. With respect mate, I don't think that's accurate. Since I came back to hunting with an air rifle, I've got to know a lot of good blokes And, I don't know anyone that would ruin a hard-won permission by over shooting it. One of my permissions is a 30ish acre rugby club. I know where every single w
  3. I don't know about any in your area but, John Bowkett is supposed to THE best man for these. He's somewhere in the midlands. I believe he has a Facebook page. Good luck and, let us know how you get on.
  4. Welcome aboard mate. Good luck with the license
  5. A full english, double Southern Comfort, 2 Paracetamol and, somewhere warm and dark to sit and watch old films all day. Or, just as good..... Get out in the fresh air and walk it off. This hurts more but works faster
  6. The tunes a good 'un mate I reckon it'll start to feel a little softer as it runs in but, not much. I spent 6hrs shooting with it yesterday and didn't feel tired The sticker is the pinnacle of my graphic design ablities - 2 minutes with a Shoot N See and the sharp corner of a screwdriver The only problem is - Davys had a shave
  7. Cheers Davy I'm well happy with this one mate. It's just me that needs the work now. Good result at the comp today Who got the 73?
  8. It's a strange ol' thing but, I find that thumb hole slightly more comfortable to use but, I seem to shoot better when I can shoot thumb up - I seem to fucus more on bringing my thumb and finger together.
  9. Oh, on a side note - it was a proper springer day at the range today. I didn't see a single pcp. My PCT97 was the odd one out All of the other rifles were TX200s
  10. True. People are very quick to overlook/forget the acts that have been done in order for us to enjoy our liberties
  11. It was mate, he makes it all seem so simple to do. The man cave has little drawers and pots full of everything that you'd ever need to sort a rifle He'll probably kick my arse when he sees that sticker You made the sticker? Ha ha! Umm, no, not me guv, honest
  12. Nice one Rob - Sounds like you got a good deal there mate I really like those Airmax scopes. Does it have the AMX reticle?

  14. After using a whole load of Sniper Magnums to shoot a branch off a tree (please dont tell Nige), I went back to the FAPs for some longer range testing. The back wall of the range is around 60/65 yards. I set up a sheet of A4 and fired 20 shots. The results aren't bad but, I think I definitely need more practice. This springer punished my bad technique a few times today I'm over the moon with this and, can't wait to get back out with it again. Thank you Davy - much appreciated
  15. I got the rifle warmed up with it's favourite FAPs, then did some 10 shot groups at 30 yards....... I tried FAPs, H&N FTT, H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme and JSB Heavy. For these, the point of aim was the red section in the centre of the target. The JSB Heavies showed real promise. I also tried some H&N Sniper Magnum - A big ol' 16gn .177 pellet For these, I had to use the top of the bottom post on the reticle. It was like using a german No. 4 reticle.
  16. So, today there was only one thing for it - I shamelessly skived off work and took my hangover, the PCT97 and a bunch of pellets off to Black Cat HFT. I spent a long time on the range today. I was there from just after 10am and left at around 4pm........ an excellent way to spend a Sunday
  17. This .177 HW97kt represents the other off half of the deal for my HW100. I love my .22 TX but, I also wanted to have a .177 springer in the set and this fit the bill perfectly. I expected this to be a little more harsh than my TX but, it felt very harsh. Each time I fired it, it felt like it was trying to knock my teeth out. I got talking to Davy about it at the club one day. He said to take it round to the man cave one evening and he'd have a look at it. Now, this Man Cave is actually Davys secret lair, hidden away in an unassuming part of Swindon. It's full off tools and all
  18. That's a definite improvement I like it

    Jobs?

Retail branch manager. Working for c**ts that smile to your face while stabbing you in the back and, dealing with office politics. ....... The pay's ok but I'm still keeping my eyes open.
  20. Yep, it doesn't take long to get used to it
  21. I do that with the clock in the car - it's always an hour fast through the winter
  22. It's the same old story that will never change - HMG/MOD likes to take boy soldiers that it can break down and build back up into someone that is capable of actually intentionally killing other human beings. Then, when that person becomes broken or over-steps the mark or actually starts to enjoy what they do, they're abandoned by the very people that made them. They have no support. Blackman was doing what he knew. Ffs, these guys are expected to hunt and kill on tour, then go back to their families like nothing has happened. I don't think I'd be capable. In this case, I think
  23. Same here mate, FAPs are absolutely spot on in mine I feckin knew Mac wouldn't keep LH from his TX until Christmas Also, what better way to spend an afternoon than with a pocket full of pellets, a decent springer and good company. Fantastic
