Reading all these posts is pretty uplifting really, when you see so many lads who didn’t do well in school as part of the “normal” education system and lads who maybe were going down the wrong path in trouble with the law and now their kids are doing ok or are on the path to doing ok. It shows that you don’t have to be defined by your circumstances, which is what I have always believed. Even lads who are having a blip with the kids are working hard to put it right and putting real thought into helping their kids with every bit of their ability…….they may not have the answers yet but

My sister's kid who,s nearly 14 started private secondary school. We don't come from money, my sister was just academic and her partner just done well for them selves and just grafted and grafted. In fairness mate, I always think when I hear these things “Are they keeping the dog alive for them or for the dog ?” A broken back sounds pretty serious and I can only imagine the animal is in pain and/or discomfort and will be for the rest of its life in all likely hood so why are they fretting about keeping the dog cutting about half crippled ? I used to be offered a lot of unwanted dogs, almost all were dogs that had piss poor owners, who were happy to blame the breed or the dog. On that note my mother's terrier ....I had to remove a wood pigeon from her sofa , she was upset incase it was injured I removed the parts and feathers he had a duck last week, he tried for a bullock earlier which cost him, he's a f***ing lunatic but I do like him....

I hated school and I hated PE and sports . I was so disruptive in PE that in the end the teacher used to bring his dog to school a black lab. And he wud let me walk his dog instead of PE. Was just easier than me being a little sh1t. At back of our school was farmland and an old quarry and pools . I was much happier on my own with his dog mooching and looking at wildlife than I ever was in any lesson.

Trust me,my kids will not be a target for no cnut...both been expelled from multiple schools for fighting when someone thought they could boy them off....thats why we went down the home schooling route...both are now thriving and want to learn...f**k exams,more important to teach them life skills so they can get out and earn money in the real world imo ,nothing i learnt in school had any bearing on where I am now

I think that is a decent rule of thumb, much like private healthcare…..they are doing a proper job minus the bollocks. However, I don’t think it’s a rule, plenty of good kids came out of state school. I also think we need to consider (and ask) what kids want their life to look like……a parents idea of success may not be a kids idea of success and I don’t seem much point in torturing them for 5 years in an institution where they are not happy…..it’s self defeating. My daughters boyfriend has a masters in physics and some other shit I don’t understand and was in education until 24

Lol Just got himself a summer job hod carrying, his first proper job, up at 5am every morning and was looking a bit tired first week until he copped a monkey pay on the Friday !…..now he is up and about like a cockerel ! My sister got a full academic scholarship to some fancy full board private school (Christ's Hospital if you've heard of it) and she ended up leaving in her second year because she just could not fit in as a rough as arseholes working class lass with an Irish accent. I've recently as in the last fortnight just bought a Sigma lens for a Canon camera bud,I watched numerous videos on YouTube regarding the lens & it seems to be a cracking lens,the one in question is the 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG,not the best lens in low light conditions but a F2.8 400mm lens which is good for low light will cost you about £15k lol. I purchased this one off the auction site in as good as new condition for £440 so I'll see how it goes,I also bought a 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L series lens which is one of Canon's professional lenses being the L series but the newer mark 2 version of this

I see that up at my woodland in Wales. When the pheasant poults are taken to the release pens , it's not unusual to see 20 to 30 , red kites, buzzards , and ravens , all circling together. Its quite an impressive thing to see. Took these pics yesterday at my woodland. 3 great tit chicks, and 7 pied flycatcher chicks. I've got about a dozen nest boxes, all with chicks in . I intend putting more up for next year.

Had a few hours sorting bike yesterday gave it a clean new oil, plastic welded front mud gurd up and fitted some pannier racks n top box rack iv never had hard luggage before, got them second hand was a bit tricky working out what bolts to but were etc but am happy , ready for some camping now
