  1. Aye, good goin on a golfy... Those cig lighter connectors on lithium's are shite... No, all cig lighter connectors are shite! Change your set up, connector wise, enough posts on a search if you take time to look through, without me telling you about mine BUT it'll take all the worry out of it if you do mate.
  2. Fox mange gets talked about a fair bit but cases that far gone are few and far between. That poor fecker caught mange and had a good enough life to survive so long with the disease, whilst it slowly eat away at it.... Best its dead now. Good shooting.....
  3. You just can't let it go can you? Socks has spent the last couple of months bricking himself about the whole affair. Now he's plucked up the nerve to come out from under his bed, you turn him back into a gibbering wreck.
  4. Not into the chickens, never had the opportunity but thats a good look into the legends of the game. Love the nostalgia....
  5. Good clip, some nice coursing on nice land, as it was back then. Maybe I just look at the past through rose tinted specks but even though there was (especially for then!) decent wedge on it, it all seemed sort of easy and friendly.... I wonder if it would be as informal there now... Anyone know who's there..?
  6. Flat footed.... Is too general a term Twelsh. If you know its flat footed through lack of exercise then yes, the more you do will improve the foot and tighten it up BUT if the dogs simply has a flatter type of foot from birth, then thats just the way the dog is built... I'd be more concerned about the dogs general fitness and get that right, its feet will automatically follow.
  7. No mate, I read it that she wasn't.... And I agree with you, Wilf, that was a good thought provoking post....

  9. If you've ever really been up close to an adult Wolfhound you would fully understand why no one would use one for lurcher breeding.... Reading about breeds, or seeing one whilst passing at 30mph through a car window, should not influence someone to consider it for lurcher production!
  10. Baw, I've read and re-read your post... I agree with Tomo and only hope she never puts herself at risk like that again...
  11. 9 is the oldest, in 30+ years of owning lurchers, thats the one I've got now. He's only lasted that long due to having one eye, a damaged spine and an easier time of things over the past few years, in comparison to everything i've previously owned.... That said, my first lived till she was 17 but I never owned nor kenneled her, she was the family dog.
  12. I'm glad for Bill Roache, must be tough on a man of his years.
  13. Did Paulus take that one with Buck and the sheep and the jumping one Ray.... Keep it up Raymondo.
  14. This may have been read by some somewhere else.... A difficult question but looking back I suppose a day where I was let down by a bloke I was doing a bit with and my dogs saving the day. We were supposed to be out with the terriers but a better offer for him seen me waiting for most of the morning at home. Aggrieved by the let down, I put my two half crosses, Tess & Buck in the back of the car and headed to a wood where we had taken a few foxes with the terriers earlier in the season. Part of it was a look to see what was there and part of it was because that’s where we were due to end
  15. The dog lacks confidence in its own ability. Though it can jump, i'll bet it has not been schooled to jump and therefor, when under pressure, takes what it thinks is the easy option. Back to the drawing board, start very small and increase week by week. Use wire, chicken is best, as it stretches easy and increase it bit by bit over the next few weeks. Have it jump all sorts of obstacles BUT don't over match it... Confidence is key! Always use a word when training (I use 'hup') so the dog knows when its jump time. Make sure the dog see's it as fun, so don't over match it and put pressu
  16. Are they good eatin? Location Please...
  17. My best memory of hunting was anything pre-ban!
  18. Meindl... Choose your type carefully.. Most popular is not always best....
  19. Cleanspade, your dead right.... But if the KC didn't exist then there would be no-one for breeders to register dogs to and form would always follow function..! Oh, that perfect world...
  20. Whippets on bunnys by day... Crackin!
