    Love reading books only non fiction though, what i dislike is when a good book is made into a movie, you can bet your life the original storyline is buggered up by some hollywood movie mogul.

    Had whippets ranging from 16 to 32lbs, a dog around the 32lb mark is the more usefull animal, having greater top end speed, as bird said some will do fox and hare. Cant see the point of KC tags its only a way of pushing up the price of a dog, give me a non ped any day.

    Depends where you hunt round my neck of the woods its not that essential, seen a few come to grief on non essential jumps , one went over a quarry edge, jumping high grass with a 50 ft drop. Yeah jumping can be a use full asset but i would rather have a dog that used its head rather than jumping blind and coming to grief.Seen dogs that jumped 5 barred gates that were partly opened rather than walk through so i suppose it depends on the dog.

    Does that mean before 1961 you could get done for attempted suicide i wonder ?......bit of a bummer having your stomach pumped only to be laying in recovery and be told " right your nicked ". Supposedly by a law passed in 1845 the penalty for attempted suicide was death by hanging, weird or what.

    Can never understand anyone not breaking their dogs to ferrets, even if ferreting aint your thing. I love the way my dogs look at them when they surface, totally blanking them, Funny little incident last week, dogs were mooching from one net to another when a rat came ambling out at first i thought it was a ferret till i took a proper look, my lurcher must have thought the same, suddenly she did a double take and shot in and ragged the life out of it,

    Must be a right bummer if you are incapable of taking your own life, and are forced to suffer the humiliation of being incapable of ending your own life, of course you should have the choice you are only shortening the inevitable.

    Great to read about these characters from a different era, also enjoyed reading about Snowden Slights from an even earlier time, never see their kind again.

    This goes back to the early 80s me and a mate were lamping some land near to where we lived, quite familiar to us. About one in the morning we were shining the lamp across the field when my mate said turn it off theres a landy coming. Now the older guys on here will know you could spot a landrover at night from half a mile away, because of the headlights being that bit higher and really close together, all keepers than used to drive the old series2 or 3. Any way it came down the road and suddenly turned onto the track which led to the field we were on. We had a good 200yds to run to the neares

    Insomnia, not worth losing sleep over. Seriously though exercise is a good plan, i wake up 4.30 to 5 every day, body clock cant change, i wouldnt have it any other way, your only practicing to be dead when you sleep.

    Why do you feel the need to take your lurchers to a hunt meet? Why the hell shouldnt i, its called freedom of choice.

    I always attend my local meet, holderness hunt, if it does not interfere with my shooting or ferreting, but what annoys me is the looks i get from the mounted gentry? When they see me there with my lurchers, i wonder if they would turn out for us lurcher lads, if we had a special day in the calendar. I think not.

    Truth is sex offenders, rapists etc creep out of the back door of our so called legal system, without so much of a murmer. But a man who has put his life on the line in the service of his country. has been convicted , for shooting a piece of shite in my opinion, that would not adhere to the rules of the geneva convention [bloody joke anyway] really is disgusting, some of the jeremy corbyn arselickers on here need a reality check.

    If that was the case i would be worried about the dogs prey drive, ive heard it said ,i can call my dog of mid course usually by some gobshite in the beer tent, but ive yet to see a dog do it.

    Sheperds pie used to be little piles of sawdust dotted round my school where the kids had thrown up ,stuck with me to this day.

    Had a whippet bred from a 32lb bitch 26lb dog it finished up 25tts and 45lbs check the grandparents, genetics are not so simple.
