Following my earlier post about patrington a german plane attacked the searchlights at out newton from a height of 50ft and crashed killing the crew of the plane and leaving 2 unexploded 1000lb bombs for ordanance to dispose of unfortunately while defusing one it activated and while trying to escape it blew up killing 2 of the 3 man crew.

Just this week there has been a memorial service in Hull marking 75 years since the blitz on the city, Hull was never named in reports about the bombing it was always refered to as a north east coast town, yet it suffered some of the worst raids in 1941 most of the centre was flattened over 2 nights with over 400 killed in those 2 nights. Ehhup lad hows tha dieng, thats more west riding, yorkshire must have the most diverse accent changes than any county in england, i could hardly understand my grandad who came from a farming community in holderness. Myxi has hit big style on land ive got permission on, mine have killed about 30 this week all ages, now tonight there was one up against a sheep fence stood still, my lurcher had not seen it but her nose went up and i knew she would soon despatch it. She went into stalk mode, collie blooded dog, but when she was on it she left it alone and it started hopping away as best it could but she still showed no interest, the look on the dogs face was almost one of disgust. Makes me laugh some of the comments on here, my whippet has shown a few of my mates dogs up, when ferreting, great short distance sprinters, and on the ground i run that is what you need, 30 yarders as we called them, horses for courses. Non ped, 22 t0 23ins, 32-34lbs bitch. Any working line not some bulled up line you see advertised these days, as for prey pre ban or not, rabbits and hares im a big believer in using the right tool for the job. For fox or deer a whippet would not be my choice of weapon.

Major difference mate i see your point but as hunters we are already viewed in the same light by the uneducated, but deliberate cruelty is disgusting by any standards. I used to think when i heard the comment, i prefer dogs to humans that whoever said it was a bit sad, but i have come round to the point of view that i prefer the canine species with their loyalty, than to the human species with their lies and deceit and cruelty to any living thing including mankind.

Monarchy an institution in britain thats envied around the world, true the royal family were englands greatest gangsters, but the end result in todays modern society is that the monarchy is bringing a fortune into the country via tourism, so why keep whinging, if you dont like the country , simple piss off back to where you belong or where you think you belong. I have often thought that to breed the perfect lurcher, you would have to copy the attributes of the cat, take the cheetah it has the capability of being twice as fast as the fastest dog, why first of all length of back an attribute often now neglected in the breeding of lurchers, powerful muscles to front and rear legs, and combined with a back that acts like a coiled spring theres no wonder its fast, but at the cost of stamina which it lacks, just my opinion but something to think about.
