    Question for you 20 years ago when i was racing whippets, myself and a mate bought a pup each, dam was a 32lb race champion sire was a 22lb race champion, what weight do you think the pair turned out to be. Seen some good posts recently re this subject. But get the impression that a lot of guys on here think genetics is a question of basic maths and not a science, judging by all the fractions quoted.

    Would definately agree with this statement there is no more game dog than a good working terrier and a lot of whippets have a fair bit of terrier blood in their lineage. Plus a lot of them dont know that they are small must be the poisen dwarf syndrome.

    Lived in crete for a while, if your fit enough walk the samaria gorge magical place, dia and chrissi island well worth a visit western crete and the white mountains are stunning. Watch out for dodgy albanians. Enjoy your hols i bloody love crete.

    We all are familiar with the saying you always lose your best dog, some of us know that very well unfortunately. But do you think in a lot of cases that fatalities occur due to the dog having excessive prey drive, and in the red mist losing any sense of caution. Some of the best dogs ive known to be killed have been far from stupid but have possesed that desire to kill at all costs. Interested to know your guys views on the subject. CHEERS.

    Any one with an interest in coursing misses the waterloo, fortunately im old enough to have attended several times, i get pissed off when i think of the good times i had when i could drive down the road and go to the old yorkshire and rydale meets, i feel sorry for the young lads that never got the chance to go to a properly organised meet.Same thing happened round malton when the ban came in more hares were shot in one day than were killed by greyhounds in several seasons.     I run one mate looks more whippet than saluki, its the best rabbiting dog ive ever owned. I wouldnt hesitate to breed yours to a saluki, im amazed its not a more popular cross, i do know that im not the only one on this site with one, i could sell mine a dozen times over but would never part with her 21tts long back 32lbs running weight.

    Ive had beddy crosses and whipgrey crosses.Beddys are slightly slower but mine had the better nose for marking and was fearless when bursting into cover. I now run a saluki whippet and beleive me its the best rabbiting dog ive ever owned, good luck with your choice.
