  5. Truth is this will run its course all the measures now may slow it down and help the NHS but there are far to many dickheads out there to eradicate the spread. Mass hysteria seems to be the order of the day mainly due to the facebook experts. As for me ive tried self isolating for years due to the fact i hate crowded places and prefer solitude.
  6. It will drop like feck if you take the advice of Boris and stop travelling about for no particular reason.
  7. If you like pigeons just fit solar panels you will get shit loads, ill give you a price for netting your panels.
  8. Dogs are intelligent enough to work out the pace that is required to catch their prey.Speed is a great attribute but those of us that were lucky enough to be old enough to witness a coursing event, will know that speed can be a disadvantage. overshooting cost many a dog first place Ferreting a dog that can work out what position to be in is worth its weight in gold i had one it showed up a few dogs with so called reputations. Anyway just enjoy the game while it lasts.
  9. One of mine got a first in a show best 23ins smooth lurcher when shaved . 3 months later won best rough coated bitch.
  10. The word traveller, could nowadays come to grief under the trade descriptions act, most of them in my neck of the woods travel as far as the local benefits office.
  11. Looks good socks, is that your perfect dog or hopefully your perfect dog. My point was the diversity of different land , what dog can do it all, i had a saluki whippet that was brilliant on woodland work, i wont say coursing because its intermittent short dangerous runs, that gave me near bloody heart attacks watching her she was 23tts weighing in at 32lbs could turn on a six pence, but she was no hare dog only ever caught a couple. But to get a dog to run all types of land requires a variation in size and weight in my opinion.
  12. You can read books, i love them, but you only learn from first hand experience.
  13. Yorkshire has some perfect land, what you need is the perfect dog to suit all terrains, woodland ,moorland, flat coursing land? flint hills, ect . Problem is does such a dog exist.
  14. Wake up we are not members now but we are still paying until new years day.
  15. Snowdrops flowering , birds singing in the dawn, blackies trying to get themselves killed by fighting for territory on main roads, catkins flowering, i love the seasons, most people dont know whats happening in nature and walk around blind.
  16. Truth is 31st December 2020 you dont get away that easily, they need to ratify the agreement.?
  17. Well at least he is not as fecking annoying as Sir bob geldof, now their is the archetypal wanker.
  18. A lot of people dont think that anything has changed on that front.
  19. Was up there on monday the rivers twice as wide at the moment a few inches below the pub window, fishings knackered at the moment. Seen otters more up at tophill low and hempholme.
  20. The one about the home guard interested me, there was a group in each area that was going to go underground and fight a guerilla war and eliminate potential traitors, there was a list of targets in each local area, i would have loved to seen the one in my village. Pretty sure who would have been on that list, some of them did pretty well in later years screwing money out of council funds etc. As kids we found a bunker in a wood back of a large house, in later years i learned the history of it. A local doctor was the head of this platoon that occupied this particular hiding place. Interesting s
  21. Aint that the truth i once shot a pigeon in a tree and the shot had balled up poor sod was blown apart.
  22. I for one used to like going on my own, when your on your own you know especially in a dark wood who the enemy is, went with a couple of mates and one was so nervous he used to spook us so never again.,as for keepers ive been shot at over my head once when lamping with a friend. One thing i will say is poaching can be bloody hard work.
  23. Not just me then that does that, as for wanting a milbro i can appreciate the nostalgia element but i hated the thumbashing bloody things
  24. Well looks like i risk a sentence every day i go out, always have my catty, my dog, and my refusal to bow down to the snowflakes that deem any form of hunting as criminal . I could respect their view if they knew the first thing about hunting but nearly all know sweet FA ABOUT IT. One thing i am glad about now that i am an old fart is the knowledge that i have seen the best years of this game and only hope it gets better in the future, but it wont.
  25. As title do any of you use a compound catapult, if so whats your view on them. Seems a bit bulky looking and gimmicky to me.
