  1. Cheers. She’s only 7 months so still early days.
  2. My favourite style of hunting. Good to just get on a high spot and watch the dogs working. Had my pup out this week. Just starting to range out and search through the cover
  3. Lovely types them Vicky. Look forward to seeing some updates.
  4. Don’t think you need anything too fancy Keith. A little bunny basher will be ideal. Will be an ideal size to have in the house too
  5. Agree there. All depends on what the bitch is like. I’m sure you wouldn’t go far wrong with either of the 2 dogs mentioned.
  6. I’m not a digging man but have spent plenty of time outdoors working in all sorts of weather. As said, a lot of the hunting style clothing is heavy and more fashionable these days. To keep dry on the move I use a goretex shell or paramo. I wouldn’t want to be digging in them though. If I ripped them I wouldn’t be too happy. No matter what you are wearing when digging I think you are eventually going to get wet, rip kit or knees etc are going to wear. Either that or you will be wet with sweat if you are digging hard enough! I don’t mind being wet as long as I’m warm. Decent base layers and a wa
  7. Sad news about your lads dog. Glad he’s got straight back into it and good gesture of someone giving him a dog to run. ?
  8. Early days for her and she will soon learn. At least you have another dog to get out with and do something. That’s the reason I got a second lurcher in
  9. Looking on the bright side mate at least she hasn’t done major muscle/tendon damage. She will hopefully fix up quick and she will be back up then hills ?
  10. Spot on Collie John. Good night out by the looks of things
  11. Same here mate. I have a Cocker/terrier. If I decide to put him to stud it will be to a bushing terrier. He’s a decent enough dog and he suits me. A few off here have seen him work.
  12. I enjoy reading threads on here that offer decent advice or help people out. Also like reading about decent days out with decent pictures of dogs working. Never been fussed to see pictures of dogs with ‘kill’. Been some great threads on here but they seem to get ruined.
  13. Will second that one. They will be best mates I’m sure.
  14. Be running my old trusty again. After a bad injury last year he didn’t get a full season. Had a good few outings this month and he seems back to normal. Have been getting the pup out a fair bit but she will only be bushing and ferreting this season
  15. Sad to see that. Most will probably go in the bin. There’s just no need to take that many.
  16. Nice one Jigsaw. The pups looked a picture of health fair play. It’s just a shame that when you see pups advertised for £400 + that a lot are in it just for the money. Looking forward to seeing how these pups come on. ?
  17. Just started to get mine doing some decent distance up on the hills again. Had him on the lamp a couple of times last week and he will soon get there. Me on the other hand.......
  18. You’re right there. If you look at the ingredients then there’s not much difference. Yet the price difference is crazy.
  19. Depends on pups appetite too. Feed as much as possible. 4 times a day is ideal if that works for you. Most people are at work so feeding in the day can be difficult. I feed my pup a really big breakfast and dinner. I just throw her stuff in between. There’s plenty of choice with kibble but I’m no expert. Mine is on raw. Raw wise I feed, chicken wings/carcass, minced beef trim, rabbit, fish, tripe, offal. Table scraps most days too. She’s looks good on it.
  20. Both cracking types. That’s my kinda place to be. ?
  21. Little belter and a good mix. ATB with him
  22. Was thinking the same. Depends on what he wants and how the bitch is bred. Wouldn’t limit the options to just a grew unless you can find exactly what you are looking for. If there’s a bit of something else in there and it’s doing the job ?
  23. Just let mine tag along when I’m out bushing. Like to get them out with the ferrets from about 6 months. Not long days, just small warrens for an hour or so. Only thing I ever hold them back on is the lamp.
