  1. All being well I will be bringing in a new lurcher pup. Bitch has been lined so all being well I will have a nice litter to choose from. Im not sure whether to pick a dog or bitch pup. I have 2 dogs now. One lurcher and a busher. I am swaying towards a bitch pup. Mainly because I have always had bitches in the past and also pressure from the other half!! Both dogs I have now have a good temperament and get on with dogs and bitches when I hunt with other people. The main concern of bringing in a bitch is the seasons and with having 2 dogs in the kennel there will be a lot of disruption. Somethi
  2. Good morning our that. Anything you put in front of the pup now will all add up. Every outing is a school day
  3. A brand name for a deerhound beddy type lurcher. I have seen a few about. Never seen one working though. Some of them looked decent types but I think a lot are sold as pets.
  4. Good luck with the pup. Sure you will have some decent days out with him. Will he be mainly bushing to lurchers?
  5. Nice one. Good to see you back on here. Hope to see some posts of your days out. ?
  6. You got plenty of time. Concentrate on whats important first. He’s seven months now so next season will be plenty soon enough. ?
  7. The next dog I hope to get will be along these lines. With regards to your pup, my priority would be to see how it is with other dogs and young kids. At 7 months old you still have time for training and stock breaking. Atb with it all.
  8. Seems so. He seen them this morning. They met at a local restaurant and the lady filled up their flasks and sent them on their way. He said there were about 40 or so people with the hounds.
  9. My old man is over in Spain working. The local hunt meet each week with various hounds and running dogs. They head into the hills hunting hare he thinks. I’m going to try get a day with them the next time I go and visit. Nice racey animals them Sandymere. Would be good to see them running up on the open moor. ?
  10. Will do. Keep in touch and send me a reminder in April. Will look at a couple of dates over the summer ?
  11. For my next busher I will prob go more on the terrier side. Would like to put him to a decent bushing terrier bitch next year and keep a pup back.
  12. He’s a spaniel x terrier mate. Mix of various spaniels and various terriers. He suites me for what I do. ?
  13. Welcome mate. I will look to run one for guys off here over the summer. ?
  14. Well done mate. Not a bad day that. Good to see Koda is still around. Hope Sean got on that shovel ?
  15. Apart from the vitamin c and bone builder, what were you feeding on a daily basis? What was the pups general diet before you noticed this?
  16. Gul is decent enough for what you want then. Wasn’t sure how experienced you were. It’s a case of getting out there and finding some decent fishing spots. I’m more of a kayaker than I am a fisherman. The two go hand in hand so I have started taking the rod when I head out. If I have a group on the water with me then they seem to enjoy it. Going to be concentrating more on the fishing over the summer. Looking to run some multi day trips, cook what you catch etc. It’s amazing going to places that no one else can get to to fish
  17. Just seen your post mate. This time of year you would want to go along the lines of a dry suit. Nothing too expensive as you are not in and out the water. It’s just a case of if you did fall in!! Wind and cold are the main things that will ruin your day. I wear a dry suit with a thermal layer underneath. Nothing too over the top otherwise you will over heat. It’s hard to take layers off once you are afloat. Trail and error really. Decent sock under the suit and some cheap/old trainers (allow a couple of sizes up) they will then fit the socks and drysuit socks without being too tight. I have tr
  18. Spot on. I know saluki blood isn’t for everyone but a dash of it can make a bit of difference. On the higher up open ground the dogs with a bit of saluki or deerhound in them seem to cover the ground a bit different. I’m no expert though.
  19. Are these the only type of lurcher you keep foxpack?
  20. I haven’t noticed loads being turned out on here. The usual lads that breed do so for their mates and to keep a couple back for themselves. When I was looking I had a few offers and they were all from decent lads who were breeding for the right reasons. Can’t ask any fairer than the offer from foxpack if that’s the type you are looking for.
  21. Been called a lot worse! Wise words from Phil.....as always. Hope she’s up and running for you soon.
  22. Took me a couple of years to convince myself to get one. Would never be without one now. ?
