  1. My kind of a day out that. As said, them dogs look top notch ?
  2. Collie saluki bull grey. Don’t know exact % as the breeding goes back. Sire was along the lines of saluki grey collie grey bull grey and dam was collie bull grey. She’s just over 23tts now 10 months old.
  3. He has no loyalty. Like I say, great dog but he will go with whoever will take him to the best hunting spots! The pup is pretty much glued to my side. Much stronger bond with her. There’s got to be a few on here that run collie bull grey?
  4. Certainly does. Got a saluki collie grew here. He’s a great dog but we always seem to fall out ? funny old thing is he gets on with the misses fine ?
  5. Thanks pal. Don’t know why but I have really bonded with this one. First dog I’ve had with bull in it. She should make 24TTS and should be plenty strong enough. Good working parents so the rest is down to me!
  6. Was looking for this type for a while. I didn’t want anything too heavy and a litter came along that ticked the boxes and there was some saluki in there too. Pup is 10 months now and she will look for stuff no problem. If she sees something she will go flat out to get to it. I’m exited about getting her going properly. At the minute I’m definitely holding her back. Always lamped a dog after they are 12 months but this one seems ready to go.
  7. Yep might be a good shout. Newkid has the sister to it if that’s the same litter. There were a few dogs from this litter but don’t know how they have done. Lot of coursing blood in there and some bull. The dogs from the litter will be 26 + I reckon
  8. Nice FP. Hope they both have a good few seasons ahead of them. Good he’s got someone to point him in the right direction if needed.
  9. Is that a first cross storm? Nice working grew over her would produce some decent pups. Hope she stays injury free for the rest of the season
  10. There will be people on here planning a litter. Most will be looking to have pups on the ground in the summer though. Good luck with your search
  11. I’ve never rushed a pup. I would rather hold them back. Short ferreting sessions and bushing is good for them. Lamping is different all together. I know some guys start pups on the lamp early but as said, it all depends on the dog. I won’t be starting this pup until 12 months but I know some of her litter are already lamping. We have plenty of time. I think most people are guilty of starting a pup too soon because they want to get out lamping and not because they think the pup is ready!
  12. All sorts I think. Definitely laky/patt In there. Same on the spaniel side too. Bit of a mixture
  13. Brilliant morning out Kev. Great to get the pup started and it makes a nice change to ferret some ‘open ish’ warrens! I was happy with the pup and she was plenty steady enough. she is collie saluki grey with a splash of bull. 9 months now and about 23-24tts. The busher did well too. Like Kev says, he’s handy to have about. He bushes well and he will work non stop. Only thing I can fault him on when ferreting is he seems to be too soft mouthed. He will catch in cover or to ferrets but some get away as he’s retrieving. If I decide to stud him out then I have always said it will be to a bushing t
  14. Cheers. Mainly saluki collie grey with a splash of bull.
  15. Will be starting this one ferreting tomorrow. She’s had a walk out with the busher a few times but done nothing else. See how she goes!
  16. Will have a chat to you sometime about that Dave ?
  17. I’ve posted on another similar topic JCM. I have a spaniel terrier. He’s not first cross or anything. He’s a mixture or different spaniel types and a couple of different terrier types bred to each other over the years. He looks more like the patterdale side where as some of his litter mates look more like cockers. Bottom line is they are from good worker to worker. He’s not too fussed with feather but I think that’s because I haven’t pushed him that way. He loves rabbiting, ferreting and goes mad if there’s deer around. He would work 7 days a week if he could. The only down side for me is he d
  18. Cheers D. Wish there was a few foot packs down here to head out with.
  19. Not heard of that one mate. Will pop along at some point. Let me know when you are planning on going
  20. I went to the south devon meet at Haytor. Was a decent morning. The weather wasn’t the best so couldn’t see much when the hounds were on the moor.
