    When I seen the Lakeland thread on here she was the first terrier I thought of. R.I.P. and she threw a few good 'uns too. Bonzo to name but 1,also juke who died young but was the makings of a real good diging dog,sire was GE dog,also black-tan,very hard dog.

    Cocker spaniel,not much bigger if at all bigger than your average terrier and a lot less aggresive towards other dogs and bred for the job you actually need a dog for.

    Had a little black-tan bitch years back,great little fox bitch put a lot of sport our way,lakeys very scarse around my end of the country.

    Fireman that ALUGAN was brilliant stuff but like everything else that works they take it off the market.

    Good result Marshman,and a nice handy do for the young dog,always best to keep them winning in there 1st season.

    Not having a go at you but if you treated the dog in the right way on wednesday when you dug him he would not be infected now.I reckon at this stage it will probably take a jab of penicillin or something simular to clear it up or you can get some pills from the vet.What did you use to clean the dog up on wednesday after you dug to him.

    Not gone on the sandy earths,especially when the quarry is diging on and terrier has to dig after it,always fear a collapse,running sand very dangerous stuff.

    Could do with a complete over haul D but would settle for a new pair of legs,lol after treatment as you know is very important in a working terrier so we try and do our best for the dogs,its the very least we can do.Have you tried BETADINE,its used in the hospitals i am told,real good stuff,really cleans out a wound.

    Salt and water is ok to clean a wound but that is as far as it goes,it wont stop infection inside,same as hibi-scrub,betedine any of that sort of stuff,they are all great to clean wounds or puntures.When a terrier swells up it is infected so needs a jab of some sort of anti inflamatary or some type of pills.We use penstrip,pennicillin,not all the time but when needed aswell as washing out wounds,also the blue spray[cant think of the name of it] but also good stuff to keep wounds clean,its not rocket science just common knowledge of looking after a dog when it needs must.

    The trialing has actually ruined the springer imo,have you noticed the size of springers in the last we will say 10 years,there not much bigger than your average terrier and would not last a good days rough shooting compared to the springer of old,big rugged and would still be thrshing the cover out after a hard days beating.

    Know of a small type collie that was dug to plenty,Kevin Em would probably remember the bitch,also my diging mate had a wheatenxgh that had to be tied up at a dig or she would go to ground and also had to be dug to on several occasions when she would hunt 1 up and run it to ground.

    I reckon all this is doing is bringing unwanted attention on 1 person,[TRUNK] so i think it should be put to bed and leave it at that.When someone posts or puts pics or vids up that someone else dont agree with why make a big issue of it on an open forum for all to see,just pm that person and no one will be the wiser.

    Many years ago pre-ban pre-locator myself and 2 mates were out diging on a sunday morn.1 of my mates had been on the guiness the previous night and it was going through him like caster oil through a cat so he had to go and have a shit.We had a terrier in at this stage and after a few min he came back and helped us dig to the dog.We got the dog and fox and then proceeded to backfill and my other mate said he would go and try another earth just a bit further on down the bank whilst we backfilled.We finished up and moved on down to find our other buddy lying flat on the ground listening for the d

    There a law onto there own,law wont touch them,you only have to look at what happened in Mullingar a couple of year back,riots,cars,vans broke up houses wrecked,1 traveller woman who lived on her own just with her young kids had her house windows all smashed and then house set alight and yet no one arrested even though the law knows each and every b*****d among them,so just think about it if they can do this to there own why would they give a flying f**k about settled people.They rob dogs,always have and near enough anything else they can get there hands on and it wont stop the only thing peo

    Seen a few good borders down the years and as said when there good there good but the sucsess rate of workers in litters is low imo due mainly to the fact that not many lads work the border any more.I reckon that if there were as many borders as blacks,russels,lakeys and so on about there would be a good percentage of working borders about providing they were bred the right way and not for the show ring or for the ££££.I remember maybe 25 year ago a few lads in the south of ireland had a very good line of working borders,terriers that were well worked and tested,the same men probably have them

    As long as the rest of the litter are not advertised and sold as working bred pups no harm done,its Lee who has to feed and clean the shit after it and who knows it could turn out to be a good grafter.

    Reminds me of a time i had an old fiat 850,1£ of petrol and you could hunt for the day with miles to spare,lol when a new lad would come with us ans we tell him put his terrier in the boot they would open the lid of the engine at the back and just stand there looking in,lol funny as f**k,if that old car could have talked we would still be behind bars.
